Chapter 16: Behind Bars

Emily

What a night! And it had to end with me going to jail. But I wasn’t going alone. Tristan and Baltazar were coming with me. I just hoped that I didn’t have to share a cell with that creepy rich bastard. I wasn’t sure I wanted to share a cell with Tristan either, but what choice did I have at this point?

My record was clean; I had no record that I knew of. Until tonight, I had never been to jail. They let Caitlyn go and the last I saw of her was her getting into a cab that the owner of the bar had called and ordered for her. She was drunk and didn’t say goodbye.

Now I remembered why I never kept in contact with her. If it hadn't been for Grandpa keeping the same phone he always had, I wouldn't have even thought of Caitlyn. She was my best friend in high school. But things tend to change, and people change along with it. We don't grow up to be best friends the way we'd once thought. I was happy to see her when she was here, but I was now happy to see her go.
