Emily
I sat in the cell next to Tristan, and I had listened to him tell me the truth, but I was now regretting it because it had brought up a painful memory for him. But I was appalled to find out what Baltazar had done to him and even worse, the death of his former girlfriend.
“She was found in a lake by a couple of fishermen,” he said. “Her body had been cut up and had several bite marks on her body.”
This was terrible!
“The police thought I had something to do with it,” he continued. “I would have gone to jail had my packmates not vouched for me.”
Somehow, I knew Tristan was not the type of guy who would be that brutal and I didn’t want to ask my next question, but I had to know.
“It was Baltazar, wasn’t it?” I asked. “He killed her.”
He looked at me seriously.
“Yes,” he replied. “But they didn’t have any evidence linking him to her murder. He denied ever doing such a thing.”
