Chapter 15: The Truth Hurts

Tristan

Of all of the f*cking shifters in this Goddess-forsaken world, Baltazar had to walk into mine. I should have seen this coming. The f*cker smiled as I still held his wrist.

“Well, if it isn’t my best friend, Tristan,” he said with a smirk. “Long time, indeed!”

“Let her go,” I demanded. “Let Emily go!”

He smiled and looked at Emily, who was still being held by his two packmates. I looked at Emily too. She was happy to see me but also confused at our exchange. I prayed she didn’t think I was in cahoots with this son of a b*tch.

“So, you have feelings for Emily now?” he asked. “You must have felt the Pull drawing you to her. No wonder. It was Fate that brought all of us together again.”

I growled. I was trying with all of my might not to have to draw into the power of my inner wolf. I didn’t want Emily to see. I didn’t want her to know yet.

“Just like it was Fate that brought me to Marissa,” Baltazar said.
