Chapter 48

Laricus’ ritual took only a few moments to complete, having spent millennia learning it and the past few days spent perfecting the power required to bring it forth. He withdrew the spear from the ground as golden light began to pulse and seep up into the cavern, stepping back a few feet at a time as suddenly a cacophonous eruption occurred, sending stone and dirt flying through the cavern, spraying across then Den, chunks of stone smashing into the forces of the Moon Walkers and Laricus’ army alike.

And now, glowing in the center of this space like a massive blazing inferno pointing to the heavens was a grand golden fire, swirling with motes of dark red burning light as if from an old star instead of the beautiful light of the moon which swirled around the only other Nexus that Jeremiah had ever seen.
