It was Jeanne's dream vacation. Along with her trusted friends and colleagues, they will spend their time in the land of the rising sun. All was going well until a tiny problem had gone overboard. The Idol group that she always found overrated and downright creepy had ruined her most-awaited vacation and because of an unexpected incident, she uncovered the idol group's deepest darkest secret... They were vampires. Additionally, her longtime unrequited love suddenly confessed to her which turned out to be an act out of jealousy because one member of the said group seemed to have caught an eye for Jeanne and started treating her nicely. But the attention wasn't anything sweet at all, in fact, there was only one thing that the idol member wanted from her... Her sweet-smelling blood... or is it...?
Finally a vacation! After months of preparing and saving up, the time has come for our most awaited vacation. My friends and I had planned a two-week vacation to one of the most beautiful countries in the world; the land of the rising sun, Japan.
And today marked our very first day in this wonderful country. We just landed at Tokyo International Airport and the group's excitement is already felt in the air. "Oh my god, we're here! We're finally here!" One of my gal pals exclaimed.
"Yeah, yeah, we know Ebony. Sheesh, can't we walk peacefully for a few seconds?" One of our guys openly complained.
Ebony then huffed and put her hand on her waist, "Oh, come on Louie, don't be such a killjoy.".
Then another guy from our group laugh out loud and hung his arm around Louie and commented, "Better do what the lady says, she's in charge of the photos." He intentionally whispered loudly as Louie grunted.
"Vince is right, better not piss me or I'll take unpleasant photos of you later, haha!" Ebony said as she tiptoes ahead of Louie, making him more annoyed.
"Yeah, yeah whatever," Louie countered, "You two lovebirds, do whatever you want, my head's still spinning so can you please be quiet just for a few minutes?".
Vince chuckled again and released his arm from him then hooked it at his girlfriend Ebony. He then said, "I told you not to sleep during the flight but you didn't listen to me, now look what you have.".
"Give me a break, Vince," Louie answered, "I work at night and I haven't slept since yesterday.".
I smiled at the energy that my friends are showing. We aren't even close to our hotel accommodation yet they're already being chaotic. Many had questioned me why am I friends with this bunch and my answer was always the same; why not.
"They're so chaotic, and we just landed." I heard a female voice comment. This young lady came later in our group, together with the young man beside her who also commented, "Well, there's no surprise about that Elise, they've always been so energetic.".
"I know, Justin, but man, they're too loud." She crossed her arms while slowly swinging her head in obvious embarrassment. Oh, these youngsters, we had met them at our previous work a few weeks before the four of us resigned and looked for better opportunities. That bond didn't fade and the six of us stayed as a group of friends. They're the closest thing I have after my family and I'm so thrilled to spend this dream vacation with them.
"Look at you two being so matured." I started to tease the duo, "I always wonder who really are the seniors in our group." I gave out a teasing smile while they got flustered and shyly pouted at me. Aren't they cute...?
We were walking down the terminal when people started crowding in a certain direction. It was alright at first but then it got noticeably annoying. The crowd of people got so many that they started blocking our way and airline police had to intervene.
"What's with this crowd? Did some celebrity come out...?" Justin complained while we struggled to pass by the overwhelming crowd. Luckily, we were headed to an escalator and escaped the roaring sea of people.
I was relieved, but it was short-lived because Elise just exclaimed gleefully, "Oh my gosh! It's them! It's Out4Blood!". My eyes grew wide as I snapped my head towards her while Justin excitedly asked, "What, really...? Where? Where?". Elise happily pointed below while tapping furiously at Justin's arm. I looked too and to my bewilderment, they were really there.
Who are the Out4Blood? Metal band...? Nah, they're a Korean idol boy group that took the world by storm. In just a year and a half, everyone has been talking about them. I don't know how did they do it but their careers skyrocketed ever since they debuted. Maybe it's because of their unnatural flawless skin and 'out-of-this-world' looks, one of them even has violet eyes which was a very rare eye color. Others often say that their music was different from the other artists of their genre, which is K-Pop, and that they're one of a kind. How do I know these? It's because my younger sister is a fan of them. As for me, not so much, but don't get me wrong, I like K-Pop music. But their group became a stigma, a stereotype among K-Pop fanatics and listeners. And that in order for you to be called a fan, or even just a listener, were to blindly like them, too, which annoys me so much.
Looking at them perform once when my sister practically begged me to go, I found nothing outstanding with them. Aside from the fact that they really do have very, and I mean VERY, white skin, their eyes sometimes look as if they see your very soul which kind of creeps me out most of the time and their energy, they seemed to have an endless source of it.
"Come on, really?" I said with dismay. The youngster can't help but take pictures of the source of the commotion below.
Elise then exclaimed, "I can't believe that they're here! How cool is that?!".
"Aren't they supposed to be on break...?" I blurted out again which gained the youngsters' attention, "What on earth are they doing out here?".
"Wow, Ms. Jeanne..." Justin commented, "For a non-fan, you sure are updated.".
I sighed at this comment and said, "Remember my sis...?". Then a big 'oh' flashed on his face. I continued just to remind them, "She's a fan, remember...? Not a minute in our house that you won't hear that group's name. You get this kind of info even though you don't have to, so yeah, I know.".
"Maybe they're here for vacation, too!" Elise gasped at the thought which I somehow don't want to happen.
"Oh, no. I hope not... Watch your step.". I assisted the youngster at the top of the escalator. Then I practically dragged them both so we can continue walking. Though I let them have their photo-ops, I respect their fangirl and fanboy personas.
"Aww, why are you so against the idea, Jeanne?" Ebony asked me all of a sudden to which I responded with disbelief.
"Why? Because it'll ruin this vacation, that's why.". I huffed before I continued, "Every location that, that group goes to will be locked and crowds of people will flock. What if they go to where we'll be going? Will you enjoy the sites with screaming fans running around back and forth...? It's a disaster!".
"Whoa, chill out girl." Vince came in between me and Ebony then hooked his arms above us, "Everything's gonna be fine, alright...? Stop overthinking, so what if they're here for a vacation, too. Everybody deserves a break, we just need to relax and enjoy our own vacation, eh...?". Well, he has a point. What we need to do now is to enjoy our once-in-a-lifetime vacation. What are the odds of having to cross their path again? I'm sure this will be the last time we'll see them.
"You're right, thanks, Vince.". He just smiled at me and took his arm down from us. Ebony then held his hand and clung to her boyfriend. Oh, this adorable couple.
Vince is right, everything will go according to plan. Nothing will ruin this vacation. I'm just distracted by the fact that this group made an appearance to where I'm not supposed to hear anything about them. Everything is alright, what could possibly go wrong?
