A loud knock disrupted Jael's sleep. He cussed as his eyes flew open. He had not gotten much sleep last night, obviously, that was his fault, however, he couldn't think of anything so important, it couldn't wait until sundown.
Jael didn't respond, instead, he adjusted so Mauve was lying on his chest again, placed his head on his pillow, and closed his eyes intending to return to sleep. Hopefully, Danag would get the hint that he didn't want to be disturbed. Danag didn't.
Another knock soon rang out and this time it was loud enough to wake Mauve. Her head slowly lifted from his chest, her lashes lifting as she opened her eyes.
"Is someone at the door?" She asked with a yawn as she moved into a sitting position.
"Yeah," Jael replied nonchalantly.
"Oh, who?" She asked, pulling her hand from her eyes.
"Danag."
"Then it's important." She replied, turning to look at him, fully awake at this point.
