295. A Little Too Cold

Jael ground his teeth as he made his way back to his room. He was in a crappy mood and having to travel all the way to the human kingdom didn't sit right with him.

However, it was something he had to do as the situation needed to be dealt with immediately. He could only imagine how the Lords would react if news of this reached them.

Not once had he thought Evan would go this far. He never thought he would be that stupid. Did he forget who held the reins? Was this a bad joke?

He was more annoyed that he would have to leave Mauve alone in the castle. The idea of that just didn't sit right with him. 

She was safe, however, there would be vampires coming into the palace for the next couple of days, and he was concerned about that. There was also the fact that all his personal guards were coming with him, he couldn't possibly take anyone else. 

He didn't want to take so many guards and he was certain they would be able to handle any number they faced.
