~Alison's P.O.V.~

Being the only female firefighter in firehouse 51 hasn't always been easy. I've been pranked on the many things you can think of. But I can say I'm blessed to be here, to do this job. I hung my bag over my shoulder and walked through the doors to see everyone sitting one the couch, and the table. I inhaled and smiled "Is that strawberry pancakes I smell?"

"It sure is" Mills said behind the cooking counter "Come and get 'em"

I took only one step before the women on the intercom came on "Engine 51 Truck 81 Squad 3 and Ambulance 61. Apartment fire. Walter Avenue"

I raised my head up and grunted "Ughhhhh great"

"Come on champ" Hermann tapped my arm

We all ran out to the trucks, got out gear on and headed out. We drove to the scene. Once we stopped we quickly hopped off

"Okay looks like that fire is really heating up. Okay, squad go inside sweep the entire building. Truck 81 put this fire out" Chief said

"Yes sir" We said in unison and scattered to do our jobs.

I helped them get the tools ready and we put ourselves to work to put out the fire. After we did we made our way back to the firehouse. I took a big sigh when I entered the building

"Finally, I get to eat" I said

The guys chuckled. Mouch sat on the couch and turned on the tv. Squad went to their table outside while the rest of us stayed in. Antonio Dawson, Gabby's brother walked in. They greeted and I continued to turn the pages on the magazine as I ate.

"Hey Alison, can I talk to you?" Antonio asked turning to me

I nodded. I took one more bite of my pancakes when I stood up and we walked to the locker rooms

"What's up?" I asked turning around to face him

"We need your help. You remember Jason?"

"You mean the guy who killed Valerie?"

"Yea"

"Have you caught him?" I asked crossing my arms

"We have him in custody"

"Can I go?" I asked

"I came here to take you with me"

"Good let's go" I said walking to Chiefs office

I opened the door and went halfway in "Chief I need to head to the police station"

Chief looked at me and noticed Antonio standing next to me

"This won't take long Chief" Dawson said poking his head in

Chief Boden nodded. We soon left the firehouse and ended up back at the station. We walked to where the interrogation room was at. We stood behind the glass as I watched Jay investigate Jason. After we stood for a couple minutes Jay walked out

"What is he, demanding a lawyer?" I asked crossing my arms

Jay sighed and took a breath "No"

"What happened?" Antonio asked

He ran his hand behind his head. I turned my head to see Jason standing up and an officer beginning to unlock the handcuffs

"What the hell is he doing?!" I snapped

"Ali listen. We don't have direct evidence to put Jason away" Jay said

"And killing Valarie wasn't enough evidence!" I yelled

"Alison listen" Antonio said trying to calm me down

"He killed her. Why are you letting him go?!"

The officer and Jason walked out of the room

"You son of a bitch! You killed her!" I screamed and began to lung at him

"Woah, Ali!" Jay said holding me back

I continued to lung at him

"Alison come on. Just calm down" Antonio stood in front of me

I finally calmed down and all Jason did was smirk at me

"You know you look really pretty today Alison" Jason winked

"Get his ass out of here!" Antonio yelled

The officer took him away. I sighed and sniffed

"God" I said brushing my hair back

"Ali.." Jay began

I raised my hand up to him "Don't. Just don't" I stormed out angry. I was still on shift so I went straight to the locker room. I still couldn't believe it. Valerie was my best friend. He can't just get away with it. Yet he was. Tears wanted to emerge but I held them back

"Hey"

I sniffed and turned to see Kelly "Hey"

"Is everything okay?"

I nodded

"I saw you leave with Antonio"

"He just had a couple questions. That's all"

He looked at me then nodded. He could tell I was lying.. I think but he knew not to push me. He turned around and began to walk away until he turned back around "If there were something.. you would tell me right?"

I nodded "Kelly.. you would be the first to know"

He nodded then turned back around. I sat on the bench and let my hands cover my face. My head was spinning. And Jay Halstead was in the middle of it. I couldn't stop thinking about him. To be honest I've liked him since we first met. Which was a year ago. After calming down I walked back into the kitchen area. I sat down at the table and grabbed a magazine. After flipping through the pages rather quickly I closed the magazine with a small grunt

"You okay there tiger?" Hermann asked

I nodded "Just great"

"Why don't you come by Molly's today. We have half price drinks from 8 to close" Hermann said with a smile

I chuckled "Thanks Hermann"

He nodded. I looked out to see Gabby in her gear doing some drills. I stood up and walked outside to approach her

"Hey" I said

She stopped and looked at me "Hey"

"You know usually when we're on shift we only put on our gear when we get a call"

She nodded panting "I know"

"You made it Gabby. Your a firefighter"

"You mean a candidate"

"Same thing. You made it because of your skills. Why are you really out here?"I asked putting my hands in my pockets

"I gotta step up. I can't be weak"

"Because Hermann is giving you are hard time?" I softly chuckled "Gabby I've been were you are. I stuck by Casey's hip whenever we went out there. They gave me hell sometimes. But I wouldn't have it any other way"

"Hermann just thinks Casey is giving me special treatment because I'm dating him"

"So don't let him. You know what to do Gabby. So do it" I gave her a smile and nodded before turning around and walking back inside
