The rain poured hardly as I ran crying, I wipe my tears but it keeps on falling down. "Please hear me out!!" He shouted from behind me. I didn't turn around and just keep on running.. What should I do?? What should I do?? I can't think of anything. Without thinking twice I cross on the street still wiping my tears, the sounds we're faint as a bright light shines on my face. That's when I heard...

Prologue

The door swung open, revealing the little crying girl stumbling on the floor.

"Big brother!" She cried.

She was lost because of her brothers' death, the only one who loved her more than her parents did.

"He's gone; there's nothing we can do about it," Her mother said, sadly comforting the little girl.

The little girl was lost in her thoughts, thinking of her last memories with her brother playing with him. They play tag on the sidewalk, I know it sounds crazy, but that's what kids do, risking the danger of cars passing by. When she crossed the street, stopping in the middle, the only thing she heard was her brother shouting; then she has pushed her to the other side of the road.

She was so lost hearing an ambulance, her brother was dead, she blames herself, and other people did so.

"Please stop crying, dear; your brother won't be happy seeing you cry." Her father caressed her hair, embracing her. She kept saying that it's her fault, it's her fault for why her brother saved her from being hit by the car. It's her fault that he died.

Time passed by until she grew up being cheerful but inside, she still blames herself for the incident that happened nine years ago.

In grade school, she met a boy with the same features as her brothers, the same vibe, and the same aura when he's around. Is it just a coincidence?? Or her best friend is her brother from the past life, well you wouldn't know, but maybe it's just really a coincidence her best friend is two years older than her brother.

We're walking home near the sea wall as they enjoy some cold food; her best friend got a watermelon popsicle as she got shredded ice with flavors on it.

"Hey," He called, turning to the girl.

The girl looked at him.

"My mom misses you," He chuckled.

The girl chuckled back, eating.

"You surprised me. I miss your mother too, though; how is she?" She asked.

They're pretty close that they know each other, and their parents are pretty close too that they agreed to match their kids to marry each other.

"She's okay; I heard that my dad called you this morning?" He asked, taking a bite of his popsicle.

The girl nodded, being honest.

"Yeah," She responds, smiling.

She looked up seeing a plane in the sky; once again, she remembered her brother wanting to be a Pilot.

"Big brother," She called.

He stopped in his tracks hearing her addressing someone, and he had no idea what she was talking about someone. 'Big brother?' he thought. He looked up to the girl again, seeing her a crying mess. That's when it struck him.

It hits different when he sees her cry. He hates seeing someone cry like her mom once did. It was hard for him to see her cry. Because the truth He cherishes and adores the girl so much that he can't stand the sight of her; it's hurting him like crazy.

"I'm sorry," The girl finally breaks down, kneeling on the ground.

He came back to his senses kneeling the girls' level.

"Look at me," He smiled softly.

He can see it, and he can see the little girl in her. Blaming herself for she knows that her brother loves her so much that he would do anything for his sister.

"Your brother hates seeing his princess cry," He smiled at the little girl.

The little girl sniffs, hiccupping. She lives in a world of reality, the reality that hurts everyone. If you know the feeling of being tormented by pain because of a loved one sacrificed to save you

"It hurts," The girl cried.

He smiled, caressing her hair. He remembers the time that he was a child. When his father would come home drunk, making his mother cry, she would sob just like this. Worse than this.

"I know, but it hurts him too."

She looked up to him, meeting his smile. She stopped crying like what he said, and it will hurt her brother to see her cry like this.

"There, now give him a smile." He made a funny face.

She laughed, making him laugh too.

"You look beautiful when you smile. Your cheeks became a ball of fluff when you smile, and your eyes disappear." He teased.

The girl hit his chest, making him chuckle, helping her up. They began to walk again, talking about school and stuff.

"Then the ball hits the glass, and it landed on the fishbowl that our professor kept! He was so mad that he threw it back to the boy, but he managed to duck his head. It hits his ultimate crush,"

They laughed together as the girl tripped on a rock. The boy knew what would happen, catching her as she fell. Her hands were on his chest, looking up, staring deep into his eyes; they stared at each other, feeling the wind pass by.

"Are you okay?" He asked worriedly.

The heat in her body rushed up to her cheeks; seeing the position they're in, she was about to speak; stepping back, she fell into her bum, sprained her ankle. The boy shook his head, helping her get up on his back.

"I-"

"Don't complain; you're not that heavy." He chuckled.

He picked her bag up, holding it for her. He doesn't want her to carry it. It was heavy like medium rocks were in her.

"What's in your bag??" He asked curiously, walking inside the building of her studio.

"Nothing but trash and some books from the library."

They chuckled at each other walking in the elevator as he pressed the floor of her house. He wants to ask what happened to her brother, but he shrugged it off.

He lay her down on the couch, making sure that she was alright before going to his own home. It was a cold night, but the smile never leaves his face,

"No matter what happened, I knew that it wasn't your fault... Your brother loves you so much as I do."

He whispered to himself, looking up to the sky. The wind blows as he states,

"I love you... Mother,"
