"Another day, another ryō" Itama sighed while walking to his training.
He had fallen asleep last night at the library reading a history book about his clan and woke up in the morning in bed. He didn't know how he got there, and he didn't care. As long as he is within the compound, Itama is safe, and he knows this.
There isn't a clan nearby that had the guts to attack the Senju clan. The Uchiha might, but they live on the other side of the Land of Fire, the chances of it happening were slim.
"I wonder what we are doing today" he kicked a rock down the road. "Hopefully something different" he sighed.
Itama continued to kick rocks down his path until he arrived in front of his sensei's house, not bothering to knock anymore he entered the house. After changing into his standard weighted gear, he made his way into the backyard, where Hatsuma waited. She was sitting in a chair with a glass of water in her left hand and a book in her right.
Hearing some noise, she looked up from the book,
"Oh, you're here" she yawned while standing up. She put the book under her left arm and after pouring the glass of water out onto the ground. She picked up the chair and moved it out of the way, and placed the book and empty glass on the seat.
"What are we doing today?" Itama asked, making his way to the center of the circular training ground.
"Like I told you, I was going to make some changes to your training after discovering your second 'unique feature'. Half of your time now will be spent doing your original training, the warm-up, which will be about a fourth of your training. Then you will train the Six Hells with me, that will be the last third of this half. The other half of the day will be spent training both your Bloodline Limit and Bloodline Selection respectively. Does that make sense?" she asked
"So I won't have to do all that warm-up anymore?" Itama asked while bouncing in place
Hatsuma nodded, "Once a week we will do the full warm-up but besides that, it will be this way from now on"
Itama's shoulders slumped after hearing that, but he quickly regained his vigor
'At least it's only once a week now' he consoled himself.
Hatsuma narrowed her eyes at the boy, "Enough chit-chat, we have a lot to do today, let's get started.
"Hai!" Itama replied and began his normal routine.
For the next four hours, Itama went through his normal routine. He did his warm-up for an hour and then for the last three hours he trained in the Six Hells by sparring with his Sensei. Most of the time he was getting his ass kicked while his Sensei told him what he was doing wrong. If he didn't fix his mistake the next time, she would hit him harder and continue doing so until he got it right. Fortunately, Itama was a fast learner and never got farther than the third hit.
During their training, Hatsuma did her best to hide the small smile that threatened to form. Today Itama was improving at a noticeable rate, his progress was much better than in the last two or three weeks combined. Although Itama hadn't realized it, she definitely had.
"Alright, let's end it here. I will give you a ten-minute rest, then we will start with your new training." She told the tired boy before walking back into her house.
Itama didn't even respond and just collapsed onto his back on the ground. He took deep breaths as he looked up at the clear sky. The sun was shining brightly and Itama enjoyed the feeling of the sun on his skin.
'I wonder what the others are doing?' he asked himself. 'Hopefully, sensei will let me have another day off, soon'
Itama spent the next ten minutes resting and enjoying the sunlight.
"Ity let's go!" Hatsuma called out from the house.
"Go? Go Where?" Itama asked while looking in her direction.
He didn't receive a reply, only the sound of kunai landing beside his head. Getting the message, Itama quickly stood up and made his way into the house. There he saw Hatsuma packing a few bags. Looking into one of the bags, Itama saw it was filled with similar kunai and other Shinobi tools.
"Umm sensei. What are those for?" he pointed at the bags
"Huh? Oh, they are for your training. Now here, take this and follow me." She handed him the bag filed with Kunia and then made her way out of the house.
Itama followed her out of the house with the bag of weapons held loosely in his arms. The two walked out of the market area and into the residential area. After a few minutes of walking, in the residential area, Itama's curiosity got the best of him.
"Sensei, where are we going?"
"To a place with more room for you to train," she replied
"But, we aren't headed to the training grounds. They are that way" Itama pointed behind him, causing himself to almost drop the bag
"We are going to a better spot. Don't worry, just follow me." She told
Itama sighed to himself before continuing to follow her. After a few minutes, the two of them made their way past the residential area of the clan and to the tree that separates the entrance of the clan from the rest of it.
As the walked, Itama regularly saw Senju Shinobi in their armor as they stood guard. A wide smile couldn't help but appear on Itama's face as he looked at the Shinobi's armor. His smile eventually died down as he saw more guards. They were all dressed in the same gray armor with the clan symbols on both shoulder plates.
"I thought they would be more colorful" Itama mumbled to himself.
"It is a privilege for members of the clan to be able to change their armor color. Each person with a different color from the gray has accomplished something great for the clan. Even you, Ity, are not exempt from the privilege of the only ones who wear red, indicating they are the Patriarch or future Patriarch." Hatsuma explained to the disappointed boy.
"Oh. Sensei, what color was your armor?" Itama looked up at her
"Before I became an elder, I wore a Dark Blue Armor similar to the Kimono I am wearing." She replied
"Oh, I bet it looked cool" Itama smiled as he imagined how cool she would look in her Armor.
Hatsuma smiled but didn't reply to his comment. The two continued to walk towards the clan's exit.
"What happened to your armor sensei? I've never seen it at your house."
"My daughter has it." Hatsuma dropped a bombshell on Itama.
"You have a Daughter!" Itama's eyes widen in shock. His sensei who he thought was a hermit had been intimate with someone and even had a child. Itama couldn't believe it.
'Someone actually laid with the devil?' Itama was stumped by who was brave enough to do such a thing. 'Even Jaraiya, actually, never mind.' he shook his head out of that thought and moved on to greater things. Who was his sensei's daughter, and who was her husband? The thoughts plagued him until his sensei spoke again.
"I have multiple children," Hatsuma replied, leaving the stunned Itama even more stunned.
"But that is not important right now. Make sure you keep up with me. I won't find you if you get lost. Now let's go." she then took off into the trees.
"Huh?" Itama looked around and realized that they had made it to the clan's exit. "No! Wait Sensei!" Itama hurriedly took off after her, doing his best to keep up with the silhouette in the distance.
