It’ kinda stùpid on his part. He refuses the Greek metal of the gods because he wants to be more human and appeal to his human pride, despite his daughter being kidnapped. If someone’s daughter was kidnapped by a god, they would do anything and everything to get their daughter back and not let something like human pride get in the way. That my view tho.

No remember MC doesn’t hate all the Greek gods just Poseidon and even though he got some gods wanting his head , but he has other gods or Goddesses supporting him specially Hesita, Athena , and Hercules
