Dimensional Chat Group: The Ordinary in Extraordinary

As I stare at the time on my phone, I tiredly rubbed my eyes as I began to contemplate. Should I continue watching cute, slightly cursed, VTubers videos, or go to sleep?

Rolling my eyes at that redundant question, I went back to watching the 4 hour long video of one of my favorite VTubers. Staying up after midnight was a normal thing for me, something that started from my childhood of watching anime late at night which progressively grew into what it is now. No matter how tired my eyes get, my mind was just too "awake" to sleep. If I tried sleeping earlier than "usual", I would just find myself back on my phone!

However, after a few minutes past midnight, as I stare at the floating thing in front of me, I began to, once again, question if staying this late was unhealthy.

I've experienced a lot of things in my life, but hallucinating? This is definitely the first time I'm experiencing a hallucination. Or maybe I was actually dreaming? Oh! If I thought about whether I was dreaming or not, then it's most likely that I am °not° dreaming then.

'So, a hallucination?' I ask myself this as I set down my phone, screen-down, causing me to realize that the screen floating in front of me was not °glowing°, but was still clearly visible in my dark room.

For some time, I observed the screen while questioning what the proper reaction I should be making in this current situation of mine?

'Should I be scared? Excited? Panicked?' Honestly, as I slowly come to the realization that the floating screen in front of me was not a hallucination, and that I actually felt pain when I pinched myself, I realized that I was, in fact, getting °excited°!

I had gone through my fair share of Dimensional Chat Group fanfics, and I was really, °really°, hoping that this was what I was thinking it was! So, without further ado, I mentally "pressed" [Y]!

As soon as I mentally pressed the [Y] button, my phone chimed, causing me to quickly take it back from where I placed it opening it. Once opened, a quickly noticed the new app added to my home screen. It was like a cyclone of planets, and without much thought I pressed the app.

After opening, I quickly noticed that a conversation had already started before I joined the chat group. I wanted to see the start of the conversation, but my attention was quickly taken by the sudden greeting.

[TechWiz: Salutations, MCwannabe! It is nice to finally get to meet the final member of our sensational group! I hope that we can be friends!]

The greeting was quite nice and I was getting really giddy!

[Prime Objective: Salutations as well, MCwannabe. I am YorHa unit, 2E, pleased to make your acquaintance.]

After reading the second person's greeting, I was quite surprised with how I was able to reign in my squeal. They said they were 2°E°, but anyone who played Nier: Automata would know who she truly was, 2B! My absolute °waifu°! This is practically °more° than a dream come true! Of course, in my mind, I'll call her 2B, but if were to officially meet and she prefers 2E, then I would surely eventually get used to that.

[Pumpkin Princess: Hey! I still don't understand what's happening, but it's nice to meet you! I hope we'll get along great!]

Despite squirming like a worm in my bed due to the excitement of meeting my waifu, I was still able to easily read the next person's greeting. Then, before I could reply, wanting to get to know these people, 2B, more specifically, three dots appeared. Belatedly, I noticed that each chat box had their own colors. TechWiz's was bright orange, 2B's was simply white, Pumpkin Princess's were a darker shade of orange, and this one was purple.

[Blood Angel: Since everyone else greeted, I can't leave myself out, huh. Welcome to the club-or-whatever.]

The chat group then grew silent after that and it took me a few seconds to realize that they were waiting for me. Initially, I thought that I had to mentally "reply", but I quickly realized my blunder and hurriedly typed out a response. The chat group would be °chaotic° if it really took your thoughts out and put it in here as a message just like that.

[MCwannabe: Hello! It's nice to meet you all! I hope we can all get along!] My own chat bubble appeared in pink, my favorite color.

As multiple typing indicators popped up, I grinned widely as I waited for a response. Truly, all this was unbelievable, and I am quite surprised with how well °I° am taking all this.

[Primary Objective: @TechWiz, I believe we must give our final member an explanation.]

[TechWiz: Yes, ma'am! @MCwannabe, to summarize, you, along with three of the people here in the Dimensional Chat Group, have been invited by what I would call as a °Fantastical Being°! Due to my lack of data and search engines not finding anything, I am led to pick the closest thing related to this! I have been chosen as the Administrator of this Dimensional Chat Group, but despite this, after processing the data provided by the Fantastical Being, I have little control of the Dimensional Chat Groups itself!]

As I read the message, I smiled softly at TechWiz's terminology. It was obvious that TechWiz was not an ordinary person, maybe a genius, perhaps? No average person would usually use the word "Data" in this context and they would surely use the word "God" instead of "Fantastical Being".

[Primary Objective: I myself have also processed the given data and I find it hard to believe. However, I am inclined to do so. We have Regulations placed upon us, the first one being [1. You will not be able to inform anyone outside of the members of the Dimensional Chat Group of its existence in any way, shape, or form.]. I had tried to ask my Pod to scan me for viruses earlier, but words had failed me.]

[Pumpkin Princess: Really!? I thought this was a prank my siblings were doing on me and tried to get them to stop, but words just wouldn't come out from my mouth!!]

Suddenly being addressed, I remained silent for a moment, but I soon went to reply.

[MCwannabe: No worries, I already have the gist of what's going on. I'll just read the rules and regulations later.]

[Possible: Are you a psychic? I'm really, really, still confused about what's happening, but I'm the adaptable sort! TechWiz and 2E are androids! Honest to god, sci-fi androids! ppppp said they weren't human, but didn't elaborate. As for me, though, I'm human!]

It seems that these four had been at it for some time then if they knew this much about each other, pppp's race excluded. Honestly, I'm surprised 2B wasn't throwing a fit! Nier androids were hardwired to instinctively be "Pro-humans" or whatever.

[Possible: 2E became crazy earlier when she found out that I was human, saying stuff like it was impossible and viruses and stuff. I still need some context on that, 2B, your reaction wasn't normal. If I could help you, I will gladly do so!]

'Ah. So that's what happened.'
