A Mission! 2/2

After the initial chaos and existential crisis Possible and Sleepdeprived went through, we finally can have a calmer conversation.

[Yuri: Hi! I'm Jasmine D. Opinia, 18, and just finished High School!]

[2E: I am YoRHa No. 2 Type E, now designated as YoRHa No. 2 Type B, or 2B for short.]

[Real Girl!: Hi everyone! I'm P.E.N.N.Y., but I prefer Penny Polendina more!]

[2E was changed to 2B.]

[Possible: I'm Kim Possible, 19 and currently going through my first year in college.]

[Sleepdeprived: Kiri]

[Sleepdeprived: Touka Kirishima, 19 and also going through my first year in college.]

.

[Sleepdeprived: @Yuri?]

[Yuri: Forgive me if this comes off as insensitive, but I was just having my moment earlier once I found out who you and Real Girl truly are.]

[Yuri: Now that we've all finally properly introduced ourselves, I'll start to "interpret" the mission details.]

[Yuri: First off, the mission details are not written in code. In truth, I actually think the mission details were made with comedic purposes in mind.]

[Real Girl!: I don't understand!]

[Yuri: Hmm. Dang. I'm really bad at explaining, so bear with me.]

[Real Girl!: Do your best!]

[Yuri: Okay, Highschool of the Dead, Highschool DxD, One Piece, Doom, and Frozen are the "name" of the universes they are set in. The first three are animes, while Doom is a video game and Frozen (I'm honestly surprised about this one.) is a movie.]

[Real Girl!: Hmm?]

[Yuri: The titles before them are like jokingly made descriptions of what they are, and the actual mission descriptions are more like a statement(?) of what they are as well?]

[Real Girl!: Hmm...]

[Yuri: Again, sorry for the bad explanation.]

[Possible: Don't worry about it! As long as you are able to "interpret" it, as you say, then there's not much to worry about it.]

Seeing Kim's encouragement, I was slightly relieved about my lacking explanation.

[2B: Hmm. Having such unreliable mission details are a cause of worry though.]

[Sleepdeprived: Bah! As long as we can understand the context, then it's fine. At least the goals are straightforward]

[Sleepdeprived: Ish]

I chuckled at Touka's response ('Should I call her by her first name?'), also agreeing to what she had said.

[Real Girl!: Either way, please continue, friend Jasmine!]

[Real Girl!: I can call you that, right?]

Now that I finally have a face to match the words, the imagery of Real Girl, Penny, had become far more adorable and clear! It was now far easier to imagine Penny saying such words with childlike mannerism, which is cute!

[Yuri: You can....Penny.]

[Real Girl!: Yay!]

[Possible: Ooh! You can call me Kim!]

[2B: 2B is adequate.]

[Sleepdeprived: Touka's fine.]

Having been given the permission to use their names freely, I can't help but feel like, despite being so far away from each other and being from different backgrounds and experiences, I feel like we have gotten closer.

Smiling softly, I then proceeded with "interpreting" the missions.

[Yuri: Highschool of the Dead is an anime world]

[Yuri: Yeah, let's go with world.]

[Yuri: I'll copy and paste this from the internet, 'kay?]

<|Timeskip|>

After I gave the girls enough time to read the copy-pasted summaries and descriptions of the mission worlds, we finally reached the point of choosing where to go.

[Yuri: So, what do you girls think?]

I asked them, curious as to what they would choose.

[Sleepdeprived: We have zombies, gods, magic pirates, literal hell, and an angsty teen with ice powers? Any takers?]

[Real Girl!: Ooh! I would like to see magic!]

[2B: The concept of hell interests me, so I would want to put a vote for Doom.]

As the two androids gave their answers, I slightly cringed. Honestly, it's really cool that we get to go to a different universes that exist here in different forms of media, but considering my own situation, I feel a bit inadequate. I have fantasized many times of being isekai'd, being part of an anime I liked and being °powerful°, but considering how I am now? I'll just be a deadweight to my friends.

2B and Penny were androids, surpassing mortal limitations. Touka was a Ghoul, someone definitely above average human parameters. And although Kim was the only other human other than me in the DCG, she had been a certified badass since she was 13, and now she's 18 and has fought against °aliens°! Me, on the other hand, the only thing I could provide to the group was my knowledge of plot and ability to easily access the internet for °more° knowledge of a certain things future or whatever. However, my advantage also has it's limitations, that being the Butterfly Effect existed and the internet can't always provide the answers I am looking for.

[Sleepdeprived: Personally i think that we should go with the zombie apocalypse one. I dont know about you guys, but please consider our other members here.]

Reading Touka's message, despite the self-deprecating cringe, I was also relieved, glad that she's looking out for the two humans of the group.

[Real Girl!: Oh?]

With a sudden boost of confidence, I pushed away my anxieties and insecurities and replied.

[Yuri: Penny, Kim and I are humans. And we're not °your° typical humans as well. We don't have aura to protect us from magic pirates or actual demons, or a Semblance or a superpower to square up against them! Maybe Kim can go toe-to-toe against an average Huntsman, but against hordes of demons and pirates that could, quite literally, shake the earth? We have no chance!]

[Yuri: Actually, I don't think anyone of us would have a chance with our current strength!]

After finishing my explanation, I noticed that my heart had been beating rather quickly. Taking a moment to observe myself, I realize that I had been °afraid°.... Afraid for our survival.

My current knowledge of One Piece and Doom were severely lacking, but I do know that the former had someone that could control earthquakes and the latter could easily overwhelm us with enemies! That's simply too scary for me!

'This ain't fantasy no more.' I glumly thought to myself as I took calming breaths.

[Real Girl!: Jasmine.... Kim.... I'm sorry for not realizing this.]

[2B: I, too, ask for forgiveness. I did not realize my curiosity would have endangered you two.]

Lying back down, I let out a sigh of relief. I didn't mean to make them feel this way, to think that they were wrong in some way, but it was still great to know that they would, in fact, react like this.

[Yuri: Yeaj sorry about that]

[Yuri: I just got really scared.]

[Real Girl!: Jasmine....]

[Yuri: I know that it sounds great, going to a different world, but please think more rationally. Although you two are androids, you would still have no chance against an organization filled with magic users or a horde of demons.]

[Real Girl!: I'll be more considerate and careful next time!]

[2B: I see your point, Jasmine, and I'll take your advice to heart.]

Seeing their replies, I smiled, knowing that my words held °meaning° to them. For an introvert like myself who has many insecurities and anxieties, it was reassuring for my self-esteem.

[Possible: I was gonna say some things as well, but Jasmine already beat me to it.]

[Sleepdeprived: Okay, now that's out of the way, let's choose a mission. Obviously, no magic pirates, hell, and gods, so what's left is Frozen and Highschool of the Dead.]

The chat suddenly got silent after that, everyone probably weighing the pros and cons of the two missions left.

[Possible: All in all, Frozen's the easiest, right? Our goal is to just fix the relationship between two sisters, which should prove to have some difficulties, but still be pretty easy.]

Prompted by Kim's suggestion, I began formulating plans. The first thing that came to mind was somehow befriending Elsa and using pur friend status to have her have a civilized talk with her sister. Although, after my initial thoughts, multiple flaws popped up, like what time in Frozen's plot will we be dropped into, Elsa's own insecurities, and simple human emotions.

[Sleepdeprived: As for the zombie apocalypse....I've got no clue.]

Seeing Touka's thoughts on the HOTD world, I proceeded to cut in.

[Yuri: Our goal is to survive 20 days in an ongoing zombie apocalypse. It seems hard, but I honestly think it's pretty easy.]

[Real Girl!: Oh?]

[2B: How so? From what you, Touka, and Kim said about zombies, I would think that you would avoid such danger.]

[Real Girl!: Yeah! After processing multiple Zombie Movies, I have also come to the same conclusion as 2B!]

With 2B and Penny sharing their concerns, my heart swelled with delight. It was really nice having someone be concerned about you.

[Yuri: Yeah, it's dangerous, but surviving for 20 days in a zombie apocalypse should "theoretically" be possible.]

[Sleepdeprived: I think normal humans would have a good chance of surviving for that long in a zombie apocalypse.]

[Possible: I've seen my fair share of zombie movies, and even without being as athletic as I am now, I'm fairly certain I can survive for 20 days in a zombie apocalypse.]

Reading Touka and Kim's own arguments, I giggled a little.

[Yuri: For 20 days we can just hole up inside a house!]

[Sleepdeprived: We can even pile up cars to make a wall, 2 androids and a ghoul should make short work out of it.]

[Possible: Ooh! We can even help people out that way!]

Once I saw Kim's comment, a thought came to me.

[Yuri: Btw, I expected you to go "Let's save everyone we can!", Kim.]

I have never watched the series, only having gone into the Kim Possible franchise for its fanfics, but I could still make out that Kim was a slightly altruistic person.

[Possible: Jasmine... I would if I could, but even I know that I can't help °everyone°. Not only that, but we'll also be in that world for just 20 days.]

'Oh thank god! I don't know how I would talk some sense into her if she were ever like Shiro and wanted to save everyone!' Saving people is fine, I myself would like to save as much people as I can, but altruism is dangerous!

[Real Girl!: So...are we choosing the Highschool of the Dead mission?]

[Yuri: Frozen is cool and all, but we might have no choice in choosing between an easy mission or a hard one in the future, so it's best we gain strength as safely as we can.] I reasoned, knowing full well that we °will° be put in a situation where we'll have no easy options, or maybe even none at all! It's a simple fact!

[Possible: I second this.]

[Sleepdeprived: I'm curious about something there, so yeah, zombies.]

'Touka...' Thinking about it now, Touka would actually have a hard time in this mission, right? Because unlike the two androids who have no need for food, and Kim and I who can fill our inventory with it, Touka needed °human flesh°. Although I'm sure ghouls can go on for weeks without eating, Touka would still have a hard time procuring sustenance.

Prompted by a thought, I went to the Shop and hoped what I was looking for was there, and after a bit of searching, I finally found it!

[Yuri: Touka! Go to the shop and search Ghoul and add DNA to the Type section!]

[Sleepdeprived: Okay?]

The others had grown curious about my sudden request, asking for what it was, but I kept quiet about it as I excitedly waited for Touka's response.

Then, after a minute or so, Touka finally responded!

[Sleepdeprived: I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!]

[Real Girl!: Huh?]

[Sleepdeprived: Thanfkyou tahbkyou th]

[Possible: HUH!?!]

[2B: I am confused by this sudden development.]

I squealed in delight at Touka's reply. It was nice, really, seeing how I was able to help Touka.

[Sleepdeprived: Ahit. Im crying.]

[Real Girl!: Are you fine Touka!?]

[Possible: Is this tears of joy?]

[Real Girl!: What's that?]

[Real Girl!: Is Touka fine!?]

[Yuri: Pretty sure it is.]

[2B: Is it a good thing?]

[Sleepdeprived: Sorry about that guys.]

[Real Girl!: Touka!]

[Sleepdeprived: Yeah, it's tears of joy, and it's good.]

[2B: I have done what Jasmine had requested and have found many interesting things about Ghouls.]

[Real Girl!: I just did it and also found interesting data about Ghoul limitations and possible mutations.]

As conversation derailed from the previous topic to different ones, I thanked whoever made this Chat Group and for giving me these new friends of mine.
