"I want to experience each and every technology there is in the entire universe."

This was what Charles thought he would be doing when he first transmigrated to this world that bathed in the interstellar era. But this soon changed as he was forced by his family to take the mech designer career.

His family, the Bennett Family was also the ruling and the only powerful faction of the Sagittarius Star System.

The Sagittarius Star System was said to be more than 10 000 years old. It consisted of more than 15 habitable planets and dozens of strategical and military star bases.

Still it was only rated as a fourth-grade star system. Not only was there a huge technological barrier between the third-grade and fourth-grade, the economical as well as comercial values of fourth-grade star systems was far worse compared to third-grade star systems.

There was also another fact that a third-grade star system have a minimum of 3 surrounding fourth-grade star systems under their control. It was simple to understand that although the Bennett Family was the ruling party of an entire star system, but they were pitifully weak on a whole.

Charles was also worried when he learnt about this fact but then something happened that will change the entire course of the universe.

On the first day of Charles's new beginning as a mech designer, he heard a voice that he dreamt of in his entire life back on Earth.

[Congratulations host for choosing a career.]

[As a result, you have activated the War Machine System.]

[The system's function is to help you turn into a War Machine God. Not just the creator but also the weilder.]

"Holy sh*t! Is it finally the time that I get my very own system?"

Charles sighed in relief as he sat on the only chair in his brand new workshop. The mech workshop was small for a large-scale establishment but too huge for a single mech designer. All the equipments in the workshop were brand new, but if one were to only go for the looks then they will be having a hard time living in this world.

It was simply because although the machines in the workshop were brand new, they were only capable of manufacturing lastgen mechs and that too at a low efficiency.

Due to the technological barriers, a fourth-grade star system is only capable of manufacturing and running lastgen mechs. Even the third-grade star systems can manufacture at most the oldest currentgen mechs due to lack of resources and insufficient technology.

Only the second-grade star systems could be said to be powerful in a real sense. While the first-grade star systems were already close to invincible existences.

As Charles sat alone in his large workshop, he activated the War Machine System.

[Dear host, please choose any one out of the following three options.]

[1. Slow start but low restrictions in the long run.]

[2. Moderate start and moderate restrictions in the long run.]

[3. Fast start but huge restrictions in the long run.]

Charles considered the options carefully as he new that there was no going back. He looked through all the options and checked them with what he need currently. And it was clear that he needs a quick increase in strength as he was simply too weak. Even the fourth-grade star system behind him is too weak on a whole much less him who is simply a nobody in this universe, atleast yet.

Thus he finally decided to go with Option 3 even though he knew that his future progress would be slow. But he knew that once he had enough power, he would at the same time have enough resources he could access which was nearly impossible right now.

"System, I will go with option three."

[Are you sure?]

"Yes."

[Project 3 has been initiated. Retrieving the starter gift pack based on Project 3.]

[Obtained Security System I]

[Obtained A.I. Consciousness (Low-grade)]

[Obtained access to War Machine Workshop I]

[Obtained Main Skill Upgrade Card (Beginner) ×5]

Charles looked at the semi-transparent screen that popped up before him. He rubbed his eyes as he checked the screen again. As he confirmed what he saw was indeed what it was, he couldn't help but shout out at the system though he didn't curse as he knew better than to curse at the almighty system.

"Hey system, what the hell are these things. They are completely useless to me you know."

[Dear host, these gifts are extremely beneficial for you. And please do not judge them based on your understanding. If you still have doubts, then please check the description of each.]

"Oh, okay."

Though still skeptical, Charles still checked the description. And when he did, he was left completely speechless.

The Security System I was the most basic security that the War Machine System provided. But as the system said, Charles shouldn't judge it according to his understanding. Because when it was applied to his workshop, it will become one of the most safe places in the entire Sagittarius Star System.

The next was the A.I. Consciousness. Though low-grade it has the ability of growth. Along with time it could reach a more higher grade on its own. Not just that, it was completely different from other A.I.s as it has the ability of completely independent thinking.

The next gift was not an item or anything like that but a function of the system. Using it, Charles could enter the system's personalized War Machine Workshop. According to the system, his current workshop was enough for making mechs but not war machines. Also the roman numeral represents the grade of the war machines Charles could fabricate. The level I means that one-star war machines could be created.

Don't look at the number one, though small, it is comparable to the oldest currentgen mechs which were nonexistent in the Sagittarius Star System.

The last gift were skill upgrade cards. Charles didn't understand much of it from the description so he would have to figure it out by himself.

"System, show my status."

OLD-WORLD EXTRA

{Check out my new novel, Misunderstood Villain: Heroines Mourn My Death} 'Born In Ruins' was a forgettable read. That was the only way Emir could describe the pages of the novel he had found himself reincarnated into. The young man barely knew anything, but the snippets he had recalled only caused him unending sorrow... As what awaited him was only tragedy and an early death. It was a depressing story, one that he had planned to flip on its head—all for his salvation. — In this post-apocalyptic world, monsters fought humans and cyborgs in a battle for survival on a scale greater than ever before. A world where innocence and death were a luxury, where the line between heroes and villains was razor-thin. Within its expanse, 'Ancient Clans,' 'Galactic Federations,' 'Factions', and 'Corporations' presided over colossal 'Ruins' that dwarfed the concept of life itself. Survivors of the 'Third World War' continuously dove into the 'Old World,' 'Hunting' for 'Relics' in any ruin that they could find on Earth, desperate to reclaim 'Lost' technology, to stand a fighting chance against the inevitable. But it appeared that 'Earthkind' had met their match. …However, Emir would never allow that fate to take its course. — Emir unraveled layers of the tale and realized the truth of the world. He acquainted himself with the rules of this game before it fully consumed him. And now... no longer content with mere survival, he sought to dominate over the very fabric of this unforgiving universe. Emir shall rise from the pawn he once was, seeking to unravel the mysteries that hounded him. The boundaries of 'Aether,' his father’s disappearance, the noose hanging above his family’s head, and of course… his starless destiny, a fate he longed to control. This pursuit would earn him the epithet: "Prince Of The Fallen." ---------------------------------------------- *Tags: Reincarnation ;), Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Magical Realism, Academy (Volume 3), Romance, Apocalypse, {Anti-Hero. Villain.} *Expect this novel to start slowly; it begins ramping up at the halfway point of volume 1. *The Magic System is introduced at the end of volume 1, read my review and Auxiliary chapter for more on that. *Warning: The main characters have emotions like proper humans. So don't expect your usual emo kid as the MC and come complaining later.

Intergalactic conquest with an AI

Rex was just another slave in the corporate machine, a faceless office worker under the shadow of one of the galaxy's powerful megacorps. His life was predictable and dull, an endless cycle of meaningless reports and fluorescent-lit monotony. That was, until that day.... When a new world was discovered on the outskirts of the galaxy, Rex, like countless other low-ranking employees, found himself dragged into a contract clause he’d barely skimmed years ago. The megacorp ordered him and his coworkers to pack their lives into a transport pod and leave for the unexplored planet. Their mission? Establish a colony. Mine resources. Make the company richer. There was no choice, refusing meant ruin. At first, everything seemed manageable. The days were grueling, the nights cold, but progress was steady. The colony was coming to life. Until the excavation team struck something. No one knew what it was at first, a buried hive, a forgotten ecosystem, or something ancient and dangerous. Whatever it was, it unleashed hell. Swarms of enormous, chittering creatures erupted from the ground, their jagged bodies blotting out the sky. The colony fell into chaos. Screams echoed through the air as the bugs tore through everything in their path, walls, machines, and people. Rex barely survived. Bloodied, broken, and pinned beneath the rubble, he should have died there. But in the pitch-black silence of his fading consciousness, a voice spoke to him. Cold. Mechanical. Otherworldly. "Do you wish to live?" When Rex woke, he was no longer the man he’d been. His body was no longer human flesh and bone but something far more alien. His skin shimmered with living metal, his mind infused with the power of Cleo, a mysterious AI from a long-extinct, robotic race known as the Kaelzars. Cleo’s presence pulsed through his thoughts, guiding him and transforming him. He wasn’t just alive. He was reborn. But survival came at a price. Rex was no longer a pawn of the megacorp; he was something more dangerous, something they couldn’t control. As Cleo’s intentions began to reveal themselves, Rex found himself standing on the precipice of war, not just with the bugs but with forces far greater than he could have imagined. This was the beginning of a journey through blood-soaked battlefields and treacherous alliances. Along the way, Rex would encounter allies, brilliant, flawed, and unpredictable, and enemies whose ambitions were as sharp as their blades. These weren’t disposable foes, easily crushed by an overpowered hero. They were cunning, relentless, and human in the most terrifying ways. But then again, in war, who can truly be called a villain?
