you could also go 4th way by making the people unite and beg Mc to reorg the goverment so he can become Emperor this way it was not the Mc's plan or anything like that thus the former politican's cant complain since it was the masses that wanted this not the Mc

make him an absolute monarchy/ emperor of all the universe not just humanity

I mean if you will introduce more universes in the future I would say mabe creating a council while he is the Supreme leader but it is a voted position. but with his use of the media I would say he would manipulate and tweak so he never loses office. mabe you could throw in plot twists where he loses his position after going some where/being trapped on halo or a shield world and while away assumed dead or something? then coming back and re inserting himself into the position
