The blade carved cleanly through the creature, from one side of its body all the way to the other. Red blood sprayed out of its left side in abundance, coating the ground in proof of the battle that took place in the wreckage.
As the creature's top half slid away from the bottom and fell to the floor with a wet thud, Gus turned his attention to the next one.
He was low on health, he was very inexperienced with using swords, and if he let them attack at the same time as each other, then he would have no chance at survival. Therefore, he simply could not give them that chance. He had to be the one to take control of the flow of this fight.
He ran to the right, where the next one stood. The creature struck first, slashing down with the club as he got there. Gus threw himself to the side, avoiding the blow but also slowing himself down in the fight.
