"Nyx... It's time to wake up... I got a mission... It's to kill my biological father... Will you help me kill him? He has been a thorn in my heart for as long as I can remember... Once he's dead I can finally walk lightly..." Morrigan clenches her fists with tears of anger falling down her face with a look of betrayal.
Morrigan just couldn't understand why he would abandon her. Was she not good enough? Was it because she was supposed to die when she turned five? So many why's and with no answers.
"You know you can count on me anytime sis..." Nyx stretches her body and loosens her muscles to get herself flight ready.
Morrigan's 21st-century mindset just can't comprehend Edwin's choices... She just can't accept the bastard's reasonings! He should have kept her and loved her even if she was doomed to die in five years! He could have found a way to keep her alive! Was she simply not worth the effort!?
Morrigan takes a few deep breaths and shakes her head and wipes the tears away from her face. She starts to fasten a harness onto Nyx which takes about 10 minutes considering the Drakes size. Unlike in-game which shows the Drake to be quite small and easily ridable reality is much different as all Drakes are the size of a Grey-hound Bus and only grow bigger with age.
Drakes usually stop growing by the time they are 25 years old in human years and by then they are nearly as big as Alexstrasza.
"Reality is sometimes satisfying but simultaneously disappointing..." Morrigan sighs.
"What do you mean?" Nyx tilts her giant head.
"You are so big and will only get bigger... I thought Drakes would be much smaller... I remember when you were just a tiny little thing that could sleep on my bed... But you got so big so quickly..." Morrigan shakes her head in exasperation.
"I am a dragon after all... It only makes sense that I will get big rather quickly and will only get bigger..." Nyx smiles which shows all of her razor-sharp teeth.
Drakes can indeed evolve into Dragons if they are the offspring of one of the five dragon flight leaders... This is already a cause of concern since Morrigan doesn't know who's kid Nyx is... Morrigan hopes that it's not Deathwing now that would just be a shit-storm in the making.
"Alright all done... Let us go to Westfall... We will stop and rest for the night at Sentinel Hill" Morrigan pats Nyx on the neck signaling that she can fly.
Nyx doesn't need to be steered or told directions as Morrigan had Nyx memorize the entire map of Azeroth. In truth, Morrigan was just lazy and didn't feel like steering or talking while she was riding on Nyx. She would much rather just read a book or write a book while she lies down on the bed inside the room on Nyx's back.
Morrigan can easily just levitate the makeshift home that is 225 square feet and lock it on top of Nyx... It took Morrigan six months to create this tiny home that can be fastened onto Nyx's back. Morrigan and some Dwarves from the Blacksmith District spent every waking moment just making sure that the damn thing doesn't fall off of Nyx. It took a lot of trial and error but now there is no need to fear the room falling off of the Harness thanks to the locking mechanism they designed.
~Alright Nyx I'm heading inside let me know when we are at Sentinel Hill~ Morrigan plops onto her bed after sending a telepathic message to her adoptive sister.
{No problem!} Morrigan can already feel Nyx gaining altitude.
'Now... I left off at the time when Tanya bombed Aren City... [Perfect recollect] Ah so those are the words I write next...' Morrigan got back to writing the next 20 pages. Morrigan is currently a best-selling Author on Azeroth. She even wrote them in Dwarven/Gnomish/Darnasssian/Thalassian and Orcish.
Of course, the Orcish ones had to be sold on the Black Market... Varian was none too pleased that she wanted to sell books to the Horde and worked on a compromise that she would only sell them on the Black Market at obscene prices which made dear old dad hesitate for an entire two weeks before he gave the OK she can sell them but had to be sold for thousands of gold.
Morrigan's gobsmacked expression was one to behold since she figured a few hundred gold pieces would be fine since her books cost 5g per volume which was affordable to even peasants who worked this world's equivalent to a 9-5 job. but even she didn't expect that Varian would ask her to sell them for 5000g at the minimum.
But she did as told and was gobsmacked when she had tens of boxes filled to the brim with gold sent to the doorstep of the Castle she lived at! She made millions of gold within a single week! Clearly, the Horde were willing to go to great lengths to buy her books even if they cost 5k gold... Of course, this meant that the gold shortage of Stormwind was solved within a month and now gold was no longer an issue.
20% of the Eastern Kingdom is no longer experiencing a Gold Shortage which is already astounding but the other 80% are still suffering a life of poverty Morrigan can only do so much... Maybe in 20 years, the Eastern Kingdoms will be fine once more but that day is not today.
I am focusing on this fanfic for now.
I do not know when I will post a new chapter since this is planned writing instead of the weekly chapters I used to do. Man, that was a dumpster fire huh? When I was writing this fanfic with a chapter a week it was just a rushed mess lol.
