Amelia And The Last Dragon

  "Amelia,get in the car,now"Amelia's father said

  "But what about Lili"Little Amelia said as she caressed the snow white fur of the cat in her arms. Her mother hurriedly locked the door and rush down to meet her. 

   "Amelia, Lili is an independent cat,and moreover you can come back for her.She will always be waiting for you"Amelia's mom said.Amelia listened to her mother ,so she put  the cat down.The cat also looks unhappy.

  "Lili don't worry I would come back for you Amelia patted the cat's head and waved it good bye before entering into the car.

  (Five minutes later)

Amelia was looking through the window,she was sitting in the back seat while her parent were seated at the front seat. 

  "Mummy where are we going to why are we leaving." Amelia asked.

  "Amie,we are going to somewhere safe."Amelia's mom looked back at her daughter and smiled.

  "Why,is there something wrong"Amelia said with worried eyes.

  "You can't ...

Before she could finish her statement, something distracted her and she looked through the window.Amelia followed her mother's line of sight and saw that the sky had turn red,she was getting scared. 

  "Mummy what is that"Amelia asked 

  "Grace, put on her seat belt." Amelia's father who was silent all  the while said; the thunder was rumbling but rain wasn't falling.

  "Daddy"

  "Don't worry Amie , it's gonna be fine"Amelia's father said concentrating on the road.

  "Don't worry everything will be okay."Amelia's mom said after setting the seatbelt. As the car was moving,the road was bumpy as if the ground was cracking into stones.Nonetheless the car didn't stop but the situation was getting weird that Amelia started crying.   

  "Amie, calm down,don't worry,you will be safe"

 Amelia saw teardrops in her mother's eyelids, threatening them not to fall.The thunder rumbled again and a bright light blocked the vision of the three to see the road. Amelia's mom faced back to her daughter. A faint glow of blue was seen in her hand as she placed the hand on Amelia's forehead.

  "Please be safe"Amelia's mom said and the glow disappeared,she faced front and squeezed her husband's right hand.Before Amelia could say anything,an explosion occured.

  (Some hours later)

On a highway near a river,Paramedics were seen moving two dead victims out of a car.Some were still investigating the area when a man shouted.

  "A girl, there's a girl".

  "The Paramedics Ran towards the place where a little girl was seen lying unconscious near the river on the ground.

  "How is her vitals"a paramedic asked

  "She's fine,but she's unconscious. Maybe due to a shock" the other paramedic said.

  "Take her in the ambulance,to the hospital"the paramedic said.

   .....

  "Do you think those two people are that girl's parent" A police who was investigating asked his mate

  "I don't think so"

  "Why"

  "Because the location of the incident is different, those two may be couples who met with an accident.While the girl....,well maybe the river washed her here"

  "But the paramedic said that her vitals were good"

  "Well guys let not waste our time arguing.Those who are dead are dead by fate and the one who is alive is enjoying grace from fate"

  Amelia woke up finding herself in a ward,she did not know how she reached here. The only thing she remembered was her mother telling her to be safe. Amelia scanned the room and saw different types of equipment she as never seen before,she did not even know what they are called or used for.

  After looking around she noticed that some rope like object were attached to her hand,she thought she was in danger so she quickly removed it,'ouch' Amelia winced. 

  A female nurse entered and Amelia quickly jumped out of the bed to hide at the corner.

"Hey,why are you hiding. Are you scared,no need to be scared you are safe here" the female nurse said. Amelia did not move from where she is hiding.She just stayed there like a frozen jellyfish hugging her knees.Even though the place she was hiding, should not be called a hiding area because the nurse could see her straight,she still looked afraid.

  Amelia has never seen any other being like her and her parent. She thought that they were the only one living in their own world,but she was wrong this world is a different one entirely because this place looked so strange to her.

  "Don't worry, I am not going to hurt you, I'm just a nurse." the nurse moved closer to her and squat to catch up with her height. "Is nuus your name" Amelia asked in a shy tone

  "No" the nurse giggled softly.

  "Then why did you say you are just a nuus"Amelia frowned.

  The nurse noticed that the girl looked like a complete mediocre. She noticed with the way she behaved,the cloth she wore when she was being rushed down here to the hospital looked more like an outdated,outdated wasn't even the right word, it looked like the cloth that is worn in the villages.

"Did you not attend school" the nurse asked.

"No,but my dad teaches me at home"Amelia answered,and the nurse sighed.

"Where is my mom, I want to see my mom" Amelia said.

"Why don't you sit first"the nurse glanced at the bed for Amelia to sit there. Amelia sat down and still expecting the answer to her question.

"I am afraid to tell you this, but your parent are gone. The three of you had an accident yesterday,but you were lucky that you are safe."the nurse stated.

  Amelia's face was sour as if someone collected her favourite ice cream from her. She did not know how to react,she did not know whether to scream or shout or cry or whatever. She just sat there frozen,there was no teardrops in her eyes.

  The nurse looked at her with pitiful eyes,for a girl to lose her parent at her tender age. She would still be left with a wound in her heart caused by this traumatic experience of her life at this little age.
