20th Century Boy in the world of HxH [Dropped]

This was a project I tackled for a year, and I decided to drop it. I learned quite a bit from it and while I don't like the fact I didn't make it to the end, I am happy with I managed given I am not the best nor fastest writer out there. If you are interested in reading then go ahead I suppose, but it abruptly ends before the climax of the Yorknew arc. Also if you want to "adopt" this fic than go ahead, jsut credit me in your description Having found out the term 'bureaucratic hell' is a quite apt description of the afterlife, our protagonist gets transmigrated into the world of hunter x hunter with the powers of magenta-magenta from JoJos. AN: Hello! I am a new author but have been on the webnovel platform for a while so I hope I do not disappoint with my story. If you have any possible ideas for fixes or story elements please leave a comment or review! Finally, I surprisingly do not own HXH, JoJos or other copyrighted material (Crazy I know). On another note: this fic is a self correcting endeavor, story elements and decisions made near the beginning are pretty rough. Honestly, if i had the time I would do a whole rewrite but I decided to make newer chapters better as I went. Thats why if you notice the mc follows the plot at the beginning, or is inconsistent, makes no real changes to the plot I am aware of this. I have been trying to get better as I go but if that isnt your cup of tea then thats fine.

Journal X Entries X 01

AN: Hey so I wrote this chapter ahead of time to get it out on Sunday... it's been ready for a while I just forgot to upload it like a dumbass! I was about to head to bed and just kinda remembered I did not upload. Sorry about that! Also, how is this style of writing? it is a lot easier to whip out these chapters than the regular style so I may do a couple more this week.

Day 1: Claire, my Nen teacher "suggested" (read forced) me to start a journal, I'm not sure what I am supposed to write here though. I suppose I'll note what I cooked for dinner, seeing as how I am now saddled with all the chores around here I had to cook tonight's dinner. I ended up making skewers with some meat and assorted fruits and veggies found in this oasis. Thankfully I didn't poison someone this time around.

Day 2: I finally started training, though it's nothing special for now. Claire has been teaching me navigational skills and information gathering. The former skill was something I already knew but it was nice to improve upon I suppose. She also assigned a daily training routine, it's not really strength training but more for building stamina which is fair.

Day 3: more of the same, apparently all I will be doing here at the oasis is learning and further polishing skills I will be needing on our travels. I would like to say I don't mind but, I do. (Somewhat) I wished to avoid having a Nen teacher due to already knowing a fair amount of information. However, the finite knowledge and teaching practices are something I am sorely lacking. I guess I'll see how the next few weeks go.

Day 7: Week one of my training has been completed, apparently I have been making good pace if the offhand comments from Claire are anything to go by. I think my background and previous work have something to do with it, though I wonder if I also have a phobia of trains after the 'incident'. Hopefully, I can get the rest of my basic training knocked out so we can leave this desert.

Day 16: A couple of days over two weeks and I finished up learning everything I need to here. Claire said more specialized skills will be learned in their respective areas, things like information gathering and black markets in cities or training my breathing in high altitudes with thin air. We are currently in a private airship going to the nearest settlement. (Claire ended up using a handheld radio to move the exfil date on my flight)

Day 19: now that we have been in a big city for a few days I would have expected to do something more exciting than reading. Claire came back to our hotel room one night with a crate of books on relevant locations, history, simple phrases in various languages, a bit about large religions, common animals, etc. while I don't have to remember it all I have to at least get a good grasp on this stuff.

Day 23: Finally learned something about Nen, it was just basic coverage of everything with a few more detailed descriptions prompted by my questions. Unfortunately, I can't probe for too much information during these types of lectures or else she gets mad and hits me over the head with a Nen-enhanced strike

Day 28: I think I finally cracked it! Nothing serious, but I always was confused about Claire supposedly being a Transmuter. Today we covered Hatsu's in a more in-depth focus, and learned about conditions and vows or how to create sub skills of one Hatsu or dabbling in multiple Nen categories. When speaking about it Claire told me about her Hatsu, which doesn't have a name? Or one she told me at least. Anyways, she transmutes her aura into gravity, sounds super strong but apparently, the aura to gravity conversion sucks. That's why she dabbled in manipulation, her weakest category but nonetheless, it allowed her to concentrate her power on one point and also add in a new condition. A really neat one too, being: the more scared someone or something of her is, the stronger the gravitational force Claire can muster. I guess looking like a delinquent/homeless person and acting like a dickhead has its uses?

Day 29: after much consideration, I have decided to retract the harmful and clearly false information that was made near the end of daily log #28. On another unrelated note, today was spent resting due to a small injury during… training.

Day 39: It's been another day of Nen training, just the basics as usual. Unfortunately, progress has been slower than the initial opening of my aura nodes. It think that while I am talented, not to the extent I previously thought. From what I gather, I am just pretty sensitive to aura in general. Also explains the freak-out I had when nearing the oasis, compounded by Claire's Hatsu, and the ambient pressure I was feeling was awful. Well, I am going to go hide my journal in the usual spot so Claire doesn't find it again, the bruises took forever to go away…

Day 42: It has been a while in the making but it finally happened… I got a phone! On a serious note, I started work on my Hatsu (though I have gotten a cell phone, it's very nice and not bug-shaped) it is very rough currently though. It is a purplish-red aura that I create, it doesn't do anything right now but as Claire suggested it is best to build a Hatsu bit by bit. Because as soon as you add a condition you cannot remove it without a large penalty. Therefore I have been practicing manipulating this aura, covering my limbs or bending it, and all sorts of other manipulations. Well, I am going to get to bed now, I know I need the energy as we are finally leaving this jungle.

Day 44: for whatever reason, we (Claire) decided to do a one-day trek out of the jungle that took us like 18 days to travel into. So after taking a day of rest yesterday I am ready to relax for the next couple of days before we head out to whatever destination Claire chooses on a whim. Oh and I made some progress on my Hatsu, I gave it a 'flow' the aura is no longer static when I mold it into shapes. Instead, I can create a stream in which the aura flows the easiest. Therefore, it made the aura harder to mold as consequence. Though with some further tweaks I want to make soon it will pay off

Creation is hard, cheer me up!
