Comments of chapter undefined of Grand Ancestral Bloodlines

I though Ailsa and Yanna were supposed to be in another universe? Otherwise what was the point of the whole spiel about even Dao Gods being unable to cross between universes. And yet we see Dao Gods being able to send the dream wraiths and Ryu to worlds like these relatively easily. Is this a retcon?
