CHAPTER 9 SOMETHING DIFFERENT?

CHAPTER 9

SOMETHING DIFFERENT?

Ever since this virus has entered our lives we have started thinking more clearly. Our goals and priorities are more clear to us. We can look after the things which used to bemuse us earlier. Not only that I used to have a to-do list which I expected to do at my home but with the lack of time spent at home I couldn't and now finally I had the time to do these stuffs which I was longing for. People took this time as a positive as well as a negative impact on themselves. Mostly there have been a positive impact on our thoughts, we saw ourselves in the mirror that we are nothing without the basic facilities and the locals are a necessity.

It has changed our perspective, isn't it? The way we look at the world has been changed, we now don't take even a small thing for granted, at least I don't. We now value the times when we used to roam free with our friends, travel, work, watch movies and what not! Those are just normal things which we used to call them but now we are imagining those things and are cherishing those moments. It is now a big deal to go out and hangout without any restrictions and fear. So much has changed isn't it?

Who knew that this will bring a drastic change in the world. The food we are eating, the groceries we are purchasing, the basic things we use are now considered as a blessing and now we smile even after compromising with the brand we used earlier to the one which are available without complaining and I think this is a huge change for us, humans. We used to nag for the things which we couldn't get earlier to finally choosing the ones we really want, we have come a long way.

Shopping, anyone? Well what about the shoppers who used to get confused between choosing which brand to buy. The industries and the markets are down and so are the shopping dependent persons. Well they have changed too. You know it's ironic that I asked one of my friend about what changed after this pandemic and what affected you the most, well her answer was shopping! Yes people do miss that! We have to maintain social distancing and it's really a challenge for some people .Isn't it a major issue? What are we supposed to do? We can't go to the malls and have our shopping done or have food outside or watch a movie with our friends and it's a crisis isn't it? Well it is for some people but jokes apart there are still some people hoping to eat outside as soon as the lockdown ends and could finally hangout without any fear! Well some people would never change not even a pandemic can change them. Humans are definitely resistant to the changes of addictive stuffs.

This year has been a lot harsher to us, isn't it? The pandemic, the disasters, the protests between the humans, natural calamities and maybe a lot to come. Who knows what will happen next but one thing is for sure that we have changed, this year is different. It taught us to be more sensitive towards our lives, the gratefulness for even the small things, to stay humble as no human is superior and there are no partisanship when it comes to natural disasters and pandemics. We have come a long way and understood that no work is small and every work is important, especially the ones we used to call as smaller ones are now the most essential ones for all of us and for the country to be safe and secured. We now have clear understandings and settled ourselves for various situations.

We all have grown in a certain way in a very short time, this is the biggest lesson so far for the human kind. We got to see the things we couldn't see in our lifetimes and we were blindfolded. Now we can see the veracity crystal clear. We have learned that no one is superior to the other, we all are suffering together because a pandemic or a disaster never see if you are rich or poor, are of higher class or lower ones, all these classifications are made by us. It affects everyone but the poor suffers the most.

This year is different. What if 2020 isn't cancelled? What if 2020 is the year we were waiting for? A year so uncomfortable, so painful, so scary, so raw that it finally forces us to grow.

A year that screams so loud, finally awakening us from our ignorant slumber.

A year we finally accept the need for change, declare change, work for change, become the change. A year we finally band together, instead of pushing each other further apart.

2020 is different and one of the most important year of all.
