....
In a distant valley.
A serene expanse of lush greenery stretched as far as the eye could see. The landscape was adorned with a profusion of vibrant plants and trees, each bearing resplendent flowers.
This picturesque of the magnificent Valley of Jie, a home to the prestigious Jie family. At its helm was the family's patriarch, Bai He, renowned as the Graceful Crane of the South, still celebrated for his martial prowess. Beyond his exceptional combat skills, Bai Hu possessed a strikingly handsome visage that had captured the heart of the once-spoiled daughter of the former Tang Emperor, Tang Yuan, whose beauty defied description.
The family had been blessed with two sons, Fei Er, and Hong Er. Both possessed astonishing good looks that left little doubt about their heritage.
Fei Er, a young master, exuded a refined demeanor. Displaying mastery in numerous musical instruments. He excelled in martial arts and swordsmanship, consistently claiming top honors in archery and hunting.
Fei Er's destiny as a young master was set from the moment of his birth. Born into wealth and privilege, he found himself in a position where respected families were already eyeing him as a potential match for their daughters in the future.
However, despite the allure of societal expectations, Fei Er held a deep and unwavering love for his younger brother, Hong Yuan, a love that eclipsed all else.
Their bond was forged from the very beginning, a love at first sight etched in Fei Er's memory. At the tender age of five, while alone in his room, Fei Er was startled by the piercing cries of a baby emanating from his mother's room. As he entered, he was met by the sight of a small infant with slightly curly red hair and bright eyes. The baby's tears ceased, replaced by infectious laughter as he gazed at Fei Er. When the baby's tiny hand touched Fei Er's cheek, it was then and there that Fei Er fell in love with his baby brother.
The days spent with Hong Er were the happiest moments of Fei Er's life. Having someone who adored him, shadowing his every move and admiring him unconditionally. Hong Er became an integral part of Fei Er, a part he could never imagine letting go.
Time passed swiftly.
Fei Er became a resilient young man, a paragon of martial prowess, education, and generosity. He had matured into the very image that every young girl envisions in their dreams.
On the other hand, Hong Er blossomed into a charming young man, his countenance radiating warmth and joy, like the sun itself. His smooth, attractive features often led to unwarranted attention from admirers, which would trigger Fei Er's protective instincts, causing him to stay close to his brother wherever they went. However, he realized that such vigilance couldn't last forever; after all, they were growing up.

The gentle breeze carried the melodious tunes of musical instruments, creating a harmonious atmosphere.
The zither and harp played in perfect synchronization, their smooth rhythms filling the air.
It was a late afternoon music class, and Fei Er was immersed in it, guided by the master from the south, Gui Fu La Yi. Gui Fu La Yi, a middle-aged man with a nearly all-white mane of hair and a dignified beard, always wore a friendly smile. His hands moved gracefully, a testament to his musical expertise, which enriched his life and served as his livelihood.
Fei Er's gaze drifted to the vacant seat beside him, which Hong should have occupied. Yet, once again, Hong was nowhere to be seen.
As Fei Er approached the final chapter of his musical piece, a sudden commotion erupted. The loud and hurried footsteps from outside drew everyone's attention.
"Young Master! Young Master, something bad!"
San Tu, a young man who had been Fei Er's loyal servant since childhood, rushed into the room. He was still catching his breath as he approached Fei Er, who had paused in his lute playing.
"San Tu, what's wrong?" Fei Er inquired.
San Tu, his face flushed with anxiety, pointed urgently towards the hall's entrance.
"Young Master Hong, something terrible has occurred. Young Master, hurry!"
Fei Er didn't wait for a detailed explanation from San Tu. Anything related to Hong Er was undeniably important. Without hesitation, he leaped to his feet, bidding farewell to his teacher, and dashed out of the hall.
"Excuse me, Teacher"
Gui Fu just waved his hand while stroking his beard. He could understand the situation.
"Well, please, Young Master"
...
By the lake behind the house, a group of young maids had gathered. Among them stood a woman adorned in opulent attire. Her hair was adorned with exquisite accessories, her gaze fixed upon the still-rippling waters.
"Oh, Hong Er! How could this happen?" The woman was none other than Tang Yuan, the fifth daughter of the former Emperor Tang. She bit her silk handkerchief anxiously as she watched her housemaids frantically diving into the water, their efforts proving futile in their search for Hong Er. Panic seized her, rendering her helpless as her men tirelessly scoured the surroundings.
In no time, Fei Er emerged from behind, looking so worried
"Mother, what's happened?"
Tang Yuan pointed toward the center of the lake.
"Fei, Hong Er has fallen into the lake. He was reaching for something on the water but he slipped... oh, my dear Hong Er," Tang Yua's voice shaking.
Fei Er looks into the lake. How could he end up in the middle of the lake in the first place? He knew Hong Er couldn't swim, and this was incredibly dangerous. Fei Er kicked off his shoes and leaped into the water without wasting a moment.
"Fei Er!"
"Young Master!"
In the cold, dim light from above, Fei Er plunged deeper and deeper into the tranquil waters, desperately searching for Hong Er. Time seemed to stretch endlessly, and he prayed that nothing terrible had happened to his beloved brother.
By the lakeside,
Tang Yuan and the others waited anxiously, their hearts in their throats.
"Young Master Fei!"
"Young Master Hong Er!" called out the maids, their voices laced with worry. Everyone stood on the edge, the workers that Tang Yuan had dispatched, had yet back to their place.
Then, from the far side of the lake, a figure emerged from the water. It was Fei Er, clutching Hong Er to his chest.
"Hong Er!" Tang Yuan and her young maids sprinted around the lake towards them without a second thought.
Fei Er gently laid Hong Er on the shore and swiftly assessed the situation. Hong Er was unconscious.
"Hong, please wake up, Hong Er," Fei Er implored.
Fei Er carefully lifted Hong Er, placing him face down, and began pressing on his stomach to expel the water. He thinks he succeeded, but Hong Er remained unresponsive. His wet, red, curly hair clung to his cheeks, and his lips had taken on a bluish tint. Time was running out, and if Fei Er didn't act quickly, he might lose him.
"Hong, please wake up, Hong Er"
Fei Er lowered his head, gently opened Hong Er's pale mouth, and administered artificial respiration. It was their only hope.
