Little Lesson on Sindhu Santana ideology / Hinduism Religion and their Deities : 1> There is one Supreme Entity above all : That is ' BRAHMAN '. This Entity is Universe itself. 2> Then there is conceptual being : The ' Trinity ' or ' Trimurti '. Namely they're : Brahma : The Creator Vishnu : The Preserver Shiva : The Destroyer Their job is to do what they are supposed to do. Brahma , To create anything inside Universe. Vishnu , To Maintain the balance of every thing in existence. Shiva , To Destroy anything whose time has come. 3> Except these above mentioned 'Trinity' , there are quite few Conceptual Beings. 4> Then there is Head of Hindu Mythological Pantheon , King of God and Heaven : ' Indra ' . Equivalent to - ' Odin ' from Norse Mythological Pantheon. & ' Zeus ' from Greek Mythological Pantheon. Again, there are many gods and goddesses or simply put God-Like beings here , who represent particular aspect : Like - ' Surya ' - The Sun God ' Yama ' - The God of Death or Guide of Afterlife. Etc. 5> Ideological believe here is of : Reincarnation , Karma , Dharma , Moksha ( I.e. Nirvana ). 6> In fictional Marvel Universe, or should I say in that particular Comic Volume of Marvel Comics ; ( I don't remember that particular Comic Volume , but I will share if I remember ) Hindu Mythological Pantheon were shown weak and pathetic. As a sign of racist behaviour towards believer's of this religion. In Comic, Thor ( enhanced by divinity which he got by asking pantheon from different faction ) smashed and defeated the arrogant Shiva. Thor needed more energy to help Odin revive and help fend off the destruction of Asgard. So, he went to ask different pantheon head of different faction. When he came to Vaikuntha Hall , where Vishnu was , Thor was rejected. But Shiva arrogantly badmouthed Thor and in anger Thor smashed him to defeat. Later it was known , That it was not Shiva but ... Indra in disguised. Indra wanted to use ' Enhanced Thor ' as weapon to kill the Trimurti and sow discord between Hindu Faction and Norse faction. And in the end Shiva did help Thor. ----- Because of such misleading representation here , that particular Comic Volume was heavily criticised across world and of course in India it was banned. ( Only that particular Comic Volume. ) Author later did apologised but company continues to sell controversial volume. As long as they're getting profit , why will they care of sentiment of more than 1 billion people following the 'Active' and 'Oldest' religion. As for followers of Greeks and Norse faction Religion, even if there numbers are very few and far between ... ( atleast compared to Active religion like , Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc. ) .. They are still treated fairly. ( Atleast in media and Pop culture.) Earlier many version of Marvel , and DC Comics where controversial and held racist view towards different countries or regions or religion. And Yes, they're criticised and banned. ---------- Thanks.
first of all let me just say this that real world and comics is different so don't be confused between them and yes in marvel comics Hindu pantheon is weak which only goes to prove that the creators of marvel didn't do much research and another thing a lot of people don't know the origin of Hindu gods so let me just say this that lord Shiva came out of nothing he has no birth or death in ancient Hindu texts just like other primordial gods so we can say he is also one of them if you want to know about other gods you can search it on wiki
if you wanna compare some one with simmilar status as Odin and Zeus, Indra can be a good cannon fodder. Even though he is god king in hindi mythology, he is as arrogant as Zeus and Odin. Vishnu, Shiva and Bramha are another level. I think you should replace Vishnu with Indra. It will be more appropriate. As a Hindu myself it feels sad man. I do like your FF but please next time think before writing something like that. I wish you will understand it bruh.
Not to offend you though but if you don't know about Hindu pantheon, you should not write about it. As a Hindu myself, I feel quite offended what you wrote. There are three supreme gods in Hindu mythology. i) Brahma - The Creator. ii) Vishnu - The Preserver. iii) Shiva - The Destroyer. They together are called 'Trimurti' or 'Trinity'. And as one of the three supreme gods, Vishnu can be said to be immensely powerful and I can even say if comparing him to Marvel powerhouses, he can be as powerful as conceptual beings such as Death, Infinity, Eternity etc. Lord Vishnu can be said to be omnipotent and omnipresent in Hindu mythology. So you saying that he is the weakest among the three, can be said that you didn't search or know anything about him. I know only few people know about Hindu and their mythology and is not as famous as Greek and Norse mythology. Heck even I didn't know much about Norse mythology before watching Thor.
Lol, my fellow countrymen are riled up....well I can understand. I honestly don't care what god you use and how you portray from Hindu Mythology, and others don't care too, it's just that our three main Gods are very very sacred, Vishnu, Brahma, and Shiva. Even I as an atheist didn't really like reading this chapter but being as open-minded as possible, I will continue reading.
