Shuffling on their feet behind the glass they are waiting for a green light. After just stepping in barely a minute ago she seems already anxious to get it started. Giving them the okay I flash a smile making a hundred percent sure that we are actually recording.
Angel always seemed rather electric in our booths and stations, guess it isn't as shocking if you put it that way; chuckling to myself I make eye contact with her companion. Luis is down to earth but something about him has always bothered me, his presence is intoxicating. Where he goes the room adjusts and changes to his moods.
And me... I am just an amplifier of their hard work. A tool in a sense, a damn good one they would say.
Finishing the last bar she already started jumping around frantically for me to give them the 'all is good signal'. The recording equipment does its work to a tee I just need to make sure they didn't fuck up any of their bars otherwise we just gotta run it again and again and again.
Listening to the track over confirming the track was solid I give them a thumbs up and before even signalling it she was already behind the table prodding at me with her questions.
" (Y/n) what's it looking like? Will you get it done by the end of the week? Oooh, can we-"
"Give the man a break." Sauntering in he falls into the chair staring at the booth, "Whatsit looking like (L/n)?"
Shrugging I lower myself into the chair staring into the ceiling, "Concerning it took us this long to perfect this work just editing the track will be a lot easier." And much quicker than the two of you took to just decide on the fucking lyrics.
Raising myself from the chair, "We took our time on this one, the two of you are DJ'ing tonight."
Grabbing my wrist I sigh waiting for her to ask her questions, "Coming tonight?"
"The team is working tonight so I might as well. Just gotta make some stops at home then ill meet up with you at Highrise."
Luis smiles at me, "Hope you actually make it this time man, we got this far with you."
"You will see me there."
"Promise?" Angel pleads, doing the thing with the eyes, God I hate it.
I get along with them and they drag me around, but this is our group. The name for our group was (b/n). Though after giving them the pitch they thought of one on the spot and well... we stuck with it seeing how far it will take us. Years later and we have been running along with it and made a name for ourselves. Big or not we are out there. Small or not we have our people who support us and love us, but after the rise of all the latest bands, stars and groups its been hard, but we stick with the rule of turning down any and all record deals the hook is the most dangerous.
They know who they are... Thresh Records. So much flack yet they still persist.
Such is the music industry. A relentless war. Gotta say we love it don't we?
