40 ✒ Chapter 28 : Wrong send
CENTER tussled his messy hair as he watched Ethan helping at the shop. The spoiled brat was currently sitting near the counter while Ethan's father was out to buy something. The old man said he's going to the market to buy something for dinner. Ethan ignored the annoying presence of Center as he arranged the teddy bears properly.
"Eeth, what do you think about Rei and Khein?" Center asked out of the blue. Ethan flinched as if he didn't want to talk about those two with Center in public. His father might hear them and it would be a big problem for Ethan.
"Of all the things you could discuss with me, why about them?" Ethan asked as if he was annoyed so that Center would change the topic.
"I mean, is Khein gay or Rei?" Center asked curiously.
"It's Rei, he told me he liked Khein ever since they were little. For Khein, he never liked any other guys except Rei. Same with Rei, he said it would never work out if it's not with Khein." Ethan said.
"Can we talk about other things? My father might hear us when he comes." Ethan said while giving Center an awkward smile.
"How about you?" Center asked half smiling. Ethan was confused with Center's question so he cocked his brows.
"What do you think about you and me?" Center asked seriously.
"What about US? Wait... Are you g-"
"It's not what you think" Center cut off Ethan's words.
"Aren't we friends?" Ethan asked as if the question for Center was too obvious. It took Center time to respond immediately.
"Yes, of course! What else are we? Haha" Center said awkwardly as he faked a smile.
"I remember I have something to do with Charles. I'll see you at school tomorrow!" Center said as if he was suddenly in a hurry and left Ethan inside the shop. Ethan was not able to say goodbye since the spoiled brat disappeared immediately.
In the corner of the street, Center stopped while catching his breath. He bowed his head and smiled painfully on the ground.
"What am I doing?" he asked himself. His heart was racing rapidly as if he just made a confession.
'What should I do? How long can I keep my feelings for him? How long can I endure the pain?' Center mentally asked himself. The spoiled brat was in the middle of the road while walking with an airhead. He thought he saw the traffic sign was green. It was too late that he realized the green was for the cars to go.
*Screeech!!*
*Thud!*
Center's head felt painfully dizzy. He was lying half conscious on the road while coughing blood.
"Somebody! Please call an ambulance!" the woman shouted who happened to be the one sitting on the passenger seat of the car that hit Center. The driver was dialing his phone with his other hand on the back of his head. The couple were panicking as they could not believe they hit someone with their car.

THE next day...
"Ethan, have you heard already?" Rei asked the president as Ethan had no idea what the prince meant.
"Center was hit by a car yesterday. He was looking for you the whole day. You should give him a visit after class." Rei said. Even if the psycho guy won't admit that he was worried about his enemy, it was too obvious with the way he tells Ethan.
Ethan felt as if he was the last person in the world that knows his best friend was hurt. He couldn't concentrate the whole day, Rei noticed it but kept it cool.
The psycho guy texted his 'boss' secretly under his desk.

KHEIN was busy doodling on his notebook since the teacher was not yet around when his phone vibrated. He frowned when he saw the psycho guy's name on it. He already warned Rei not to text him during classes because it would always bring him trouble.

Kheiny, do you want to accompany Ethan at the hospital after class with me?:)
"What the fuck, why would I?" Khein hissed as he typed, "to hell with that stupid brat!"
Khein didn't hate Center that much. He also knew that the spoiled brat would only tease him and make fun of him if he ever shows a care for him. Though he wished that the spoiled brat should get better sooner.

"Okay, if you're not going then I won't go."
Khein sighed and felt the sudden guilt in his chest.
"What the fuck is wrong with these people?" Khein hissed while frowning. He sighed and typed, "Fine."

Really?! Then I'll come to your classroom later!:)
Khein rolled his eyes and put his phone inside his pocket. A minute later, he received another text.
"Who is it this time?" Khein asked, annoyed. Frowning, he opened the message again and felt his heart jumped unexpectedly.

Khein gulped as he secretly looked around if someone was looking at him. He looked at his phone again and stared at it for a long time. He thought, 'what should I say? I love you too?'
"Gross" Khein said silently as he get rid the words off his brain. Another message.

Khein felt goosebumps as he read the message. A minute later and his phone kept vibrating.

Khein was receiving messages and he got suddenly irritated and gave up. The moment his phone vibrated again, he replied the words, "Fine! I love you too! >:("
Right after he sent the message, Khein felt humiliated. He covered his face with his palms as he felt his cheeks burned.
30 seconds later, his phone vibrated again.

Khein frowned as he read his mother's message. He looked at the conversation and felt even more ashamed.
He sent the message to the wrong person. While Rei was showering him with texts, his mother texted him too. He accidentally replied to his mother.
"Just fuck" Khein cursed and prayed that the ground should better swallow him whole.
"I'm not doing it ever again" Khein murmured and hid his phone inside his pocket as how he hid his blushing face behind his hands.
