29 ✒ Chapter 17 : Getting good together

KHEIN pushed Rei away from him as he tried to breath normally. Khein watched at  how Rei's expression turned from dark to normal again. Rei was smiling like an angel as Khein was able to breathe normally.

"I need to go back! I have to present my task!" Khein said as he started walking back to the gym. Rei watched the rebel guy walked away and he hurriedly caught up. He stared at Khein for the whole walk towards the gym as the rebel guy avoided his intensifying stare.

"Do you want me to play guitar for you?" Rei asked but Khein immediately refused him.

"I'll do it on my own" Khein said as they both arrived inside the gym. Khein went on the stage without minding the murmurs and silent protests from the crowd. Khein strummed the strings and it made a melodic sound which made the people froze in awe.

The people started shouting and cheering as Khein made such a cool intro with the song 'Falling Up' by The Cab.

The loud cheerings of the crowd echoed throughout the gymnasium as if there was a concert.

"Falling up! Falling up! Falling up!" the crowd sang together with Khein as he changed the tempo from normal to minus one.

'I'm falling up up up

Rei watched as how Khein enjoyed his performance on the stage. Center was yanking Ethan on the neck as they jumped together with the crowd and enjoyed the song.

'I'm falling up with you now! oh!'

Rei cheered like a proud boyfriend in the the middle of the crowd as Khein avoided to meet his gaze. Khein might lose in track if he ever look at Rei in the middle of his performance.

"You did a great job, Khein!"

"You're so cool as always!"

"I knew it! You were awesome!"

Khein received a lot of good compliments from the audience yet he never cared. He always never cared about what other people thought about him. All he ever cared was the fear of failing in front of everyone. As long as Khein knew he did his best, he wouldn't feel ashamed.

"You're the coolest!" Rei said as he followed Khein back to their classroom.

"I know" Khein stated in a cool manner and sat on his chair. Rei sat next to him which made the original person who sat next to Khein wondered if he would shoo Rei away or not.

"I'll be sitting back here from now on" Rei said and winked at the owner of the seat. The owner of the seat sat next to Ethan which made the president wondered.

"Rei, your seat is here." Ethan said as he looked at Rei with wondering eyes.

"I'll be sitting here from now on, I've said it already" Rei said authoritatively. Ethan frowned which made Khein thought that trouble was on its way.

"Go back to your seat. I don't want you sitting next to me, you'll be an annoyance." Khein said to Rei which made the taller guy pouted his lips.

"Okay" Rei bit his bottom lip as if he was been scolded and he obediently returned to his seat.

"You can't just randomly change your seat as you wish" Ethan said. Rei nodded bitterly as he looked back at Khein who was looking outside the window. Khein was having horrible thoughts about how would Rei deal with Kyle later. Khein hated the idea of his friends getting hurt because of Rei. But what Khein hated the most was his own behavior recently. He would randomly thought of Rei out of the blue. The good side of Rei that he adored. The innocent smile and the kindness the psycho guy was giving him. He could not imagine that there were two versions of Rei. Khein thought, 'How would I get rid of the psycho inside him?'

In the middle of Khein's countless thoughts, his phone vibrated. He secretly peeked through it as he realized that there was a teacher discussing in front of the class.

"Fuck" Khein cursed loudly and unfortunately, the teacher exactly stopped beside him. The whole class was laughing except Rei who was looking at Khein with a guilty face.

"You are just smart, but you have no good manners. Texting and cursing during my class? GET OUT!" the teacher yelled and Khein scratched the back of his neck as he slowly made his way out of the classroom. Rei bit his bottom lip as he felt guilty for texting Khein.

"This class is boring" Rei said loudly as the teacher's ears turned red. Rei was one of her favorite students in the class but she couldn't believe she just heard those words from Rei.

"You! Get out!" she shouted at Rei which made the whole class gasped. Their teacher just made the innocent prince walked out of the classroom.

"Anyone who finds this class boring? All of you! GET OUT!" the teacher yelled as her hands were shaking. Her knuckles turned white as she clenched her fist. Khein and Rei were punished to carry three books above their hands while hanging them forward in the air.

"Let me" Rei said as he removed the books above Khein's arms and asked the rebel boy to add them above his hands instead.

"You rest" Rei said to Khein as he bit his bottom lip. Khein squatted down the floor and played his favorite mobile game. He loved treating Rei coldly sometimes. He found it cute when Rei behaves like a puppy than a wasted psycho.

"It's heavy" Rei said while his sweat formed a large pulp on his forehead. His lips became redder and his hair was hanging down in any directions. He looked hot than haggard.

"Of course it is HEAVY , dumbass" Khein said as he continued playing with his phone, not giving even a single glance towards Rei. Rei bit his bottom lip and endured the punishment all by himself. Khein was having fun as his character leveled up when he realized that Rei was seriously struggling beside him. Khein sighed and decided to stop the game he was playing and took off his polo, he was only wearing a white thin sleeveless. He spinned the cloth like a fan to make air for Rei. He continuously fanned Rei with his selfmade fan and rolled his eyes as if he didn't want to do it in the first place.

"Thank you, idol" Rei said with a smile.
