Synopsis

Chapter 1Chapter 1: A New Journey

"Be brave Lucas, be brave. I know you can do it and make us proud. It will be hard but be ready. A real soldier never seeks outwar but must prepare for it.", grandpa told me.

"Thank you grandpa I will keep it in my mind and heart.", I sincerely replied. He then gave me a box. He told me to bring it and keep it safe. "Goodbye my Lucas. It is sad that your father can no longer watch your march to success." those were the last words of my grandfather before I went to AMI.

"Lucas wait for me!", Jonas said as I walk outside our barrack. "Hurry up. We are late!", I shouted. Damn we are late again. Captain Alexander will definitely give us punishments.

Jonas is my childhood friend and it is our dream to become a soldier. I really wanted to follow the steps of my dad who is a former general. Jonas and I are friends through ups and downs that made our friendship stronger.

Now we're here at the American Military Institute. We're one of those who volunteered to serve and protect our country.

We already arrived at the training field. Oh no Capt. Alexander noticed us. "Officer cadet Timo and Chon give me 100 push ups now!", Capt. Alexander said. "Sir yes sir!", we both answered. It was a hassle. Capt. Alexander gave us a hard time during the whole training because of having too many lates.

After the training both Jonas and I immediately went back to our barrack to clean ourselves. The number of soldiers per barrack is 10. All the soldiers have their own bed and a cabinet. We are about to take a rest when we heard the siren.

Lieutenant Owen suddenly came to our barrack. "There will be a huge battle coming in 3-5 months between US and Japan so be prepared and train harder.", lieutenant announced. I dont know but the announcement give me chills.

We've been training for a month now. The war is about to come and the time is getting shorter. After the training I left Jonas in the training field and went back to the barrack.
