#5 !!!Final Fight!!!

Hiroto woke up to his alarm and quickly put an instant cup of noodles into the microwave. While it cooked, Hiroto combined water and salt in a water bottle, creating a saltwater solution. He poured some saltwater on his blade and the axe, knowing that it might need to be reapplied. Hiroto had thought about his plans upon waking up before going to sleep. Once his food was ready, he quickly ate it, considering how to carry the axe conveniently. Hiroto decided to rip a hole in the drink holder of his book bag and secure the axe in place using the bag's strap.

Now equipped with the knowledge of Delmon's weaknesses, Hiroto needed to make a plan to kill him. But first, he had to check on Curseacle and consume it with his shadow magic. Hiroto made his way to the vent, acknowledging the risk of encountering Delmon but confident that Curseacle wouldn't pose a threat in the vent. Holding his knife while crawling, Hiroto reached the room where Curseacle had been. To his surprise, Curseacle was still alive but in a weakened state. Curseacle appeared shriveled and battered, a result of being outside the vents for too long. Hiroto didn't underestimate Curseacle but also didn't belittle him, stating, "I bet you had a lot of fun with that monster who thinks it's an angel. Now, I get to deliver the final blow of what you call fun." With his dying breath, Curseacle warned Hiroto that if he died, the angelic monster would come searching for him. He advised Hiroto to ask the angel to teach him god's will if he managed to escape, offering a chance at prolonged survival. Curseacle explained that he didn't want the angel to derive satisfaction from killing Hiroto, expressing his hope that Hiroto would live. Hiroto remained silent and swiftly killed Curseacle with a powerful swing of his axe. He immediately covered Curseacle's body with his shadow magic, absorbing its essence, and quickly retreated into the vents, leaving a fading trail behind him. Hiroto now possessed Curseacle's memories and super strength.

Hiroto was one room away from his current location and the next room. His shadow returned to him as he gained Curseacle's memories. Through those memories, Hiroto saw the exit to this place, but he chose not to leave just yet. His primary goal was to kill Delmon. Hiroto decided to explore the other half of the map he hadn't yet explored to devise a better plan and make use of his surroundings. Starting from the safe room, Hiroto checked his map and noticed a purple dot on the other side of the map, where Curseacle had been. Assured that the coast was clear of other monsters, aside from Delmon and the spider-like creature, Hiroto proceeded with caution, holding his map to monitor Delmon's movements.

As Hiroto explored each room, he found more food and batteries. In the last room, he discovered rope, fuel, and matches. After contemplating for a while, Hiroto formulated a plan to kill Delmon. Delmon was now approaching the other side of the map, coinciding with Hiroto's plan. To avoid being seen by Delmon, Hiroto traveled through the vents, aware of Delmon's ability to swiftly strike from unexpected angles. Hiroto initiated his plan near the room where he had previously died. He began by slightly opening a door and tying a piece of rope to the doorknob, ensuring it was securely knotted. Next, he entered the room where he had nearly met his demise and loosely tied three batteries together with rope. He used something to temporarily hold them down, ensuring they wouldn't slide out of the vents or elsewhere. Hiroto then used fuel to create a trail leading to the next three rooms. Exiting the vents, Hiroto returned to the room where he had first entered and made his way to the safe room, taking a moment to rest.

Consulting his map, Hiroto confirmed Delmon's location, a crucial component of his plan, which relied on Delmon's presence in a specific spot. Hiroto prepared himself, focusing on his agility and stamina, ready to execute his plan.

Hiroto positioned himself at the designated spot, waiting for Delmon to turn the corner. With focused attention on his map, Hiroto prepared to execute his plan. As expected, Delmon noticed Hiroto immediately and extended his neck at a rapid pace, attempting to strike Hiroto with his flying head. However, Hiroto was quick enough to dodge the attack and swiftly pulled the rope, causing the door to fly open. Delmon crashed into the door, leaving a dent of his face.

Without dwelling on the sight, Hiroto entered the room and picked up the vent door, dropping it as a decoy. He positioned himself behind the door, ready to pull the rope to create noise in the vents, mimicking the sound of crawling. At the same time, Hiroto ignited the fuel trail and watched as the batteries burned and exploded, causing damage to Delmon's face. Taking advantage of the chaos, Hiroto drew his axe and ran out of the room, utilizing his super strength to swiftly cut Delmon's neck in half.

Delmon's head rolled out of the room, making direct eye contact with Hiroto. Hiroto sensed an approaching gust of wind and realized that Delmon's real body was flying towards him. Acting quickly, Hiroto grabbed Delmon's head, intending to show it to his body as it turned the corner. To his surprise, Delmon's body froze upon seeing itself, expressing confusion and sadness. Delmon couldn't believe that he looked like a monster and not an angel. He questioned the truth of what he had been told and blamed Hiroto for his appearance. Hiroto remained silent as Delmon's life flashed before his eyes, filled with denial. However, Delmon still clung to the desire to live.

Suddenly, Delmon felt a surge of agonizing pain and overwhelming hatred, causing him to snap out of his momentary trance. Determined to survive, Delmon attacked Hiroto, who narrowly avoided his strikes. Hiroto attempted to finish Delmon off but was hindered by Delmon's wing, preventing a clean cut. Sensing the danger, Hiroto swiftly retreated, avoiding Delmon's attack. Hiroto observed a change in Delmon's appearance as his wings mutated, growing eyes all over and transforming into armor-like coverings for his body. Delmon's necks were protected, stopping them from bleeding out. Hiroto couldn't help but feel frustrated by this turn of events, thinking it was unfair.

Hiroto noticed all the eyes on Delmon focusing on him, creating an uneasy feeling. Thinking quickly, Hiroto splashed salt water on the eyes, causing them to steam up and melt slightly, akin to pouring acid on them. Convinced that he had neutralized all of Delmon's eyes, Hiroto launched an attack, only to have it blocked. Delmon retaliated with a quick punch, sending Hiroto flying backward. Delmon's head, with its creepy smile and demonic red eyes, stared at Hiroto intently. Realizing the difficulty of capturing Delmon's head, Hiroto attempted to grab it, but Delmon's body thwarted his efforts. Hiroto evaded Delmon's attacks and rolled back, strategizing his next move.

Considering his options, Hiroto concluded that throwing salt water at Delmon's head would be futile due to Delmon's body blocking the attack. Instead, he decided to use the UV light on Delmon's head, aiming to blind his eyes or slow down his body, allowing Hiroto to strike. Hiroto coated his axe with salt water and shone the UV light on Delmon's head. As expected, Delmon's body moved to protect his head, unaware that Hiroto was targeting his body. Hiroto struck at the same spot as before, burning through Delmon's wings and flesh with the salt water. To ensure success, Hiroto employed his brute strength, splitting Delmon's body in half. He didn't hesitate and swiftly finished Delmon by splitting his head in two.

Feeling the exhaustion from running and fighting, Hiroto took a few moments to rest, sitting down. He decided to walk back to the safe room and sleep for 15 minutes to allow his body to recover from the intense ordeal. Before resting, Hiroto used his shadow magic on Delmon and consumed him, absorbing his speed and memories. From Delmon's memories, Hiroto learned what the demon who had caused him suffering looked like. He also realized that the demon wasn't watching him at all times. Curious about the sudden surge of hatred Delmon had experienced, Hiroto wondered if it was the devil's doing.
