The VR Demon

It was summer of 2051. A man who seemed to be around 20 years old came out of an old dilapidated apartment. He wears jersey shorts a white t-shirt and a flip flop.

He walked around the street and stopped at a noodle shop. Carlos usually prefers food from these kind of establishments rather than instant noodles. It's taste is just normal at least it tasted a bit better than instant noodles.

Carlos was contemplating on what to do for next following days. He spend almost all his money earned from the last mobile application he developed. Its was a personal app that is solely made for one person.

The noodle uncle seemed to notice Carlos that was in a deep thought. He just ignored him since he was like this everyday.

"I need to find a job" Carlos thought. While sipping on the soup of the noodle bowl he recalled the remaining amount of credits he have in his pockets. Carlos have a total of 5000 credits. He doesn't spend much of his money on random things, only the basic necessities a man should have.

Finally sipping the last drop of soup he put down the bowl and left 25 credits on the table. He stood up and left. On the way home he looked around the streets. Carlos saw a Lottery stand from the other side of the road. He personally hate random chances. One time when he was high school he spent one thousand credits on a loot box only ending up with duplicates and ugly items. Ever since then he never do loot boxes again.

Even so he crossed the road and arrived at the lottery stand. "Hello can I get one scratch card" he said to the person managing the stand. Not long after, he received the scratch card and paid 50 credits. "Damn wasteful" he said but he doesn't care that much it was only two noodle bowls.

Carlos began to scratch the the card. The rule was simple get a straight number seven on five columns or rows to win. After four rows things are going bad. "Yep I wasted two noodle bowls."
