Phoenix God's Trial (Part 2)

Ao Rai burst forth with a resplendent light, his fist connecting directly with the chest of the humanoid figure.

For a couple of seconds, there was silence and then from the focal point of contact, a bright light quickly spread out followed by an incredibly loud bang shortly after.

The top half of the fiery being instantly disintegrated, with only two stumps left behind, by the legs of the being, which promptly collapsed as well.

Ao Rai then shut off his Joss Flame, feeling immense joy and pleasure, as he felt the power recede back into his profound veins and then internal world, as his physique reverted, as he knew that his Joss Flame was indeed as useful as it was layed out to be.

However, immediately after he fully cooled down his Joss Flame, Ao Rai instantly felt a numbing pain throughout his entire body, and this was only after around 10 seconds of activation, however Ao Rai thought that the positives definitely outweighed the negatives considering the incredible levels of power he was able to reach from this physique.

Internally Ao Rai thought,"This incredible ability alone is a great foundation for my future as a cultivator, once I find a suitable cultivation method to match this, as well as some techniques to back it up, I will be able to unleash my full battle potential and fight far above my cultivation level. While I can erupt with the power of a 10th level sovereign profound cultivator, those at the 6th level and above of the sovereign profound realm would be able to dodge me since I am merely relying on brute force currently rather than profound energy control and actual techniques. Despite this though, once I find a cultivation technique, some offensive techniques and a movement technique, I will be set to go, and Jasmine will provide these for me in the future hehe."

As Ao Rai told himself this in his head, little did he realise how much his plans would be thrown off by an event occurring shortly after the phoenix trial, sending him in a completely different direction to his original plans.

"Incredible, young man, truly incredible, but now this next test is even more important."

The voice of the phoenix rang out again in Ao Rai's eyes, and he put on his determined expression again as if he would do anything to pass this next test, however inwardly he was sneering as he knew what to expect already, a test which he already knew how to beat, what could be easier?

Sure enough the phoenix's next test was that of the 'heart' of a cultivator, and the memory that was chosen was that of Ao Rai's original life. Since he did not cultivate in that life he was faced with the choice of power, but in terms of political standing and wealth, or saving his brother once again, and once again Ao Rai pushed his brother out of the way and sacrificed himself, earning himself the favour of the Phoenix God and passing the test.

"Excellent, truly excellent, not only do you possess incredible training talent and battle prowess, but also you have a good heart, you pass with flying colours!"

Hearing this Ao Rai once again smiled, looking forward to seeing what these so called better rewards were than the original test.
