Monster Killed and Invitation

Hendrix backed away as he grabbed a poisonous mushroom and stabbed a branch into it, and the poison from within dripped out. He then threw it at the creature as it blocked another attack from another soldier.

The creature saw the stick, and it dodged it, listening to its instinct. But this left an opening for the soldiers.

One of them grabbed one of the front limbs of the creature and slammed his armored elbows into the middle as a sickening crack sounded, along with a howl of pain.

The soldier showed no mercy and forcefully moved the creature's front limb. After which, he forced the creature's claws through its face, as part of its skull was cleaved off.

The creature growled in agony as it tried to fight back. But the soldier drew his scimitar and cut the creature in half from the bottom, and the two creatures' sides fell and lay motionless as blood spilled everywhere.

"This creature is a Wind Wolverine. Make sure to be careful, as they are common monsters here." The male soldier said as he flicked the blood off his sword.

Hendrix saw this but thought this battle style wasn't for him as he got up and walked to the male soldier, considering this incident the perfect opportunity to raise his achievement to exotic rank.

"I have some medical skills. Is it alright if I use them to treat the two injured?" Hendrix asked with a smile as he kept eye contact.

"Sure, you can try, as our expedition only has one healer." The male soldier said as he thought both of the injured were doomed. Since it took a lot of mana for healers to heal serious injuries, and healers couldn't heal amputated limbs.

"Okay, I understand, though. Can you light a fire?." Hendrix asked as he wanted to stop the female soldiers from bleeding first.

The male soldier nodded as he created a weak fire above his finger, and he lit a large branch ablaze.

Hendrix quickly picked up a small branch and put the tip of it in the fire. Afterward, he approached the female soldier and started cauterizing the wound with fire.

"Ugh, this hurts." The female soldier said as she gritted her teeth in pain.

"If you lie about your medical knowledge, I will decapitate you." The male soldier said as he gritted his teeth while looking at what Hendrix was doing.

Hendrix finished cauterizing the female soldier's wound. He repeated the same actions to Franklins as well.

"I stopped the bleeding. Now please wait a bit." Hendrix said as he took about an hour to make some strong strings from the long grass around. While also carving a few wooden needles.

After Hendrix finished with his tasks, he began to stitch up Franklin's gaping wound on his right arm.

"Hendrix, this hurts, but how did you learn all this? Also, do you have a way to stop the pain?" Franklin asked as he thought Hendrix had secret knowledge, as he gritted his teeth from the pain.

"My knowledge is a secret, and sadly I don't have a way to dull the pain. Just endure. It's better to feel this than the alternatives." Hendrix said, shaking his head as he finished stitching Franklin's wounds together.

"Alright, you should help the soldier. I'll be fine for now." Franklin said as he stood up and tried to move his arm, but he winced almost immediately.

"Franklin, you shouldn't move your arm. If you move it too much, the wound will reopen." Hendrix said as he left and moved towards the female soldier.

"Alright, I understand. Good luck, and thank you." Franklin said as he went back to their carriage by himself.

"Now I'm going try to reattach your arm. It will hurt, sadly." Hendrix said as he grabbed the female soldier's arm and placed it beside her. He planned to stick it back on and see if the healer could heal a stitched arm.

Hendrix then tried to attach her arm back superficially as he stitched it back on slowly but steadily. Once he did this, he backed away.

"Let's see if the healer can heal you the rest of the way. I did all I could." Hendrix said as he looked at the other soldiers. But he was interrupted by a notification.

[Ruthless Surgeon Achievement has evolved to Exotic rank]

"Alright, I thank you for your attempt." The female soldier would say.

Hendrix nodded to her as he saw his achievement evolve. He thought of how he could next evolve it to Aberrant rank.

While Hendrix was engrossed in his thoughts, the healer walked out from one of the carriages and arrived. He had pure white eyes without pupils and short white hair and had pale, wrinkled skin hidden within his white robes. At the same time, he held a triangular white scepter in his hands, with a clear crystal on top of it.

One of the soldiers approached and whispered into the Old healer's ear, which caused him to smile eerily.

"Everyone, please pay your respects to Charles. He's our healer here and a mage." The soldier proclaimed as he backed away.

"Hello, everyone. I wish I could meet you all in different circumstances. But alas, I'll heal the wounded." Charles said he cast a basic healing spell on the female soldier while curious if the stitches helped with recovery and allowed her arm to heal.

Everyone watched her arm completely heal in surprise but not in awe, as they had seen many more surprising things in their time.

"I'll heal the other one later. Once my spell is useable again, Hendrix, please follow me. We have much to discuss." Charles said as his eyes contracted as he looked at Hendrix.

"Okay, I'll follow. Lead the way." Hendrix said that if he questioned it out here, the soldiers could get aggressive due to Charles's status.

Charles nodded as he strolled towards the front of the carriage line. He eventually stopped at one that horses did not pull. But instead, it was by a giant hyena-like creature.

"Come inside, Hendrix. It's safe in here." Charles said as he climbed up the stairs.

Hendrix followed without questioning him. He thought If something terrible happened, he could die and start again.
