16 Dungeon and the problem with 'limit break' (Corrected)

"From a distance, it looked just great, but seeing it up close makes you feel like an ant."

Looking at the tower in front of him, Mark was speechless. In his past life, he lived in a metropolis so he saw his share of skyscrapers, but Babel was different, the top of the tower was hiding in the clouds and the feeling of magnificence and mysticism it released were in no way comparable to the simple skyscrapers of the Earth.

After admiring the tower up close, Mark headed for the entrance to the tower where the guild officers were monitoring the adventurers.

"Hi can I know your name?" -An employee told him.

"I'm Mark Tormeto, I registered today."

Hearing the name, the clerk checked an artifact that showed a list of names.

"It's all right, Mr. Tormeto, you can proceed in the dungeon. I advise you to stay between the first and fourth floors, which are useful for adventurers of lv 1 who have statistics that do not exceed H. " -The clerk told him with a serious face.

Thanking the employee, Mark finally entered the tower and saw in the center of the room a huge chasm where the adventurers descended. Approaching the chasm he noticed that there were stairs and he too began to go down. As he descended the stairs he could see a large number of adventurers and it was easy to differentiate the novices from the experts. The rookies had minimal equipment and it was evident that they were agitated, while the experts wore high-level equipment and did not show the slightest concern as they descended.

After walking through an enormous amount of spiral steps, Mark finally reached the first floor.

"What I can say... it looks like a dungeon"

The first floor looked a lot like a cave, the only feature that he found interesting was the blue light emanating from the spheres attached to the ceiling.

'Guide what kinds of monsters are on the first 4 floors?' - He asked as he began to move away from the other adventurers.

[The monsters are goblins, kobold humanoid monsters with a dog's head, dungeon lizard a monster that attacks adventurers from above, and finally jack bird, the rarest monster to encounter but with the most expensive drop item.]

"How much are we talking about?" - He asked curiously.

[His item is worth 1,000,000 valis, before you can ask in the last 100 years only three have been killed, the monster's speed is very fast but it's not aggressive.]

" 'whistle' a million would be convenient. Anyway, let's go hunting, I can hear some goblins. "

Having strayed far enough from the rest of the adventurers he finally managed to find monsters.

'Limit break' 'clank'

Activating the ability, Mark dashed towards the group of the first goblins surprising them. Drawing his short sword, he managed to stab the first one while the other two jumped back.

'They are more agile than that of the surface, but that's not enough.'

With that thought in mind, he sprinted back to the goblins and with two quick swings managed to kill them. After killing them, the bodies of the monsters disappeared leaving only the stones, but Mark did not pay attention to them because he felt that the 'limit break' ability was still active and did not want to let his guard down, but the minutes passed but no monsters appeared.

'What the heck is going on?' - He thought as he continued to keep his guard up and check the surroundings.

[I think I have the answer]

'Talk.' - Mark immediately told him.

[As you know the 'limit break' ability can only be activated before starting a battle and only once the battle is over, all the gains multiplied by two that you have obtained by fighting, will be completely assimilated. Otherwise if you spontaneously deactivate the ability all the gains you have made will be lost.]

'I already know this, now get down to business. - He replied annoyed.

[What I mean is, what would happen if you found yourself in a situation where the battle state is not over.]

'Obviously' limit break 'would not be deactivated' - He said without hesitation while trying to figure out where he wanted to end up.

[This is my hypothesis, since you are in the dungeon where monsters can be born at any time from the walls, the ability considers as if you were still fighting]

After hearing the guide's words, Mark realized he had a serious problem. For example, if Mark activates the ability as soon as he enters the dungeon and manages to increase all stats by 50 points, but he is unlucky and encounters a situation where he suffers a lot of damage. With the pain multiplied by two, it would be difficult to maintain the ability and he would be forced to deactivate it, losing all his work.

'Tsk' -Brushing his lips Mark started walking again since it would be useless to remain still.

[Host even if inside the dungeon you are always in a battle state, there are areas where monsters cannot be born if you go there the ability could be deactivated so you can actually get the improvements.]

"That doesn't change the situation SIGH" -With a sigh, Mark continued the hunt. Although he couldn't deactivate the ability, the monsters in the foreground weren't too strong. After battling other goblins, he found the stairs to the second floor, where he finally found some new monsters.

"So these are the kobolds, they look like small werewolves."

He was about to prepare to attack, but the two werewolf-like monsters noticed him due to their expanded senses and started dashing in his direction. The first kobold tried to scratch his face, but Mark managed to parry with the blade and kicked him away, the second kobold tried to bite him, but dodged him by rolling on the ground.

"Finally a decent fight, I really needed to let off the stress."

Rising to his feet, he cracked his neck and this time it was him who sprinted towards the enemies. Approaching the first monster he pretended to move to the left but immediately moved to the right swinging the short sword towards the neck of the monster, who had fallen for the feint. Continuing his attack, he didn't give the second kobold time to prepare by managing to pierce its chest.

"It's been a long time since I fought like this."

After collecting the monster stones he thought about what to do.

"Continuing to explore the dungeon it would not make sense now, I have already spent a few hours here and it will surely be evening outside" -While he was reflecting, an idea came to mind.

"Hey Guide, you said that once in Orario I would have to work on how to develop magic."

[Exactly host. Orario is packed with mana and should be easier to perceive.]

"What do I have to do to perceive it." -Hhe asked him as he made his way to the surface.

[Since the host has got into the habit of meditating, try to perceive mana during your sessions.]

"That's all?"

[That's all.]

Speechless, Mark exited the dungeon and went to the guild to exchange stones. Arriving at the guild he exchanged the stones for 2500 valis, as he was about to leave he heard someone calling him.

"Good evening Mark, have you visited the dungeon yet?" -The person who asked him the question was Eina who was always surrounded by an aura of kindness.

"Good evening Eina, yes I visited the dungeon, I was here to exchange the stones."

"You didn't go too deep do you?" -She asked him seriously.

"Don't worry I only visited the first two floors"

Hearing the answer, Eina nodded satisfied - "You did well, many people underestimate the dungeon and tend to go down too much."

'I have no suicidal wishes.' - Mark thought - "Okay, now I'll leave you with your job."

Saluting briefly, he made his way to the inn, just to see a large number of people in the pub.
