Wanda settled in the room next to Helen's, hiding in the shadows so that none of the night shifters would notice her. If anything, she would use her power and make everyone forget what they saw.

'It has already been nine hours... was Nagato wrong after all?' Wanda thought, closely listening to the people talking in the next room. Something about Nagato made her uncomfortable. The way he carried himself, the way he spoke, and his peculiar power...it all sent goosebumps down her skin, especially those purple eyes.

However, her emotions didn't matter this time. With Nagato's help, they would surely defeat the Avengers, and then they could disappear from this place and live a comfortable life somewhere away.

'I have to focus.' Wanda perked her ears, stretching closer to the wall. Nagato's plan may have been based on a theory, but it was at least something. Wanda didn't enjoy sitting with no work, especially when she knew that getting this stone was essential for her own plans.

As she kept on listening to Helen and her co-worker talking, an incredible bang echoed throughout her ears. Wanda didn't even breathe twice as she jumped from her spot and rushed out of the room.

'?!' Wanda just got near to Helen's room when a body suddenly flew out of it, breaking the window into little pieces. Using her powers, she managed to stop the person just before it hit her. However, this crimson brightness caught a lot of attention in this barely lighted-up building.

As Wanda settled the unconscious woman onto the ground, she glanced through the broken door. A huge robot stood on the other side, glancing from Helen and Wanda back to back.

"Helen and her co-worker should have been the only ones in this building. How did you slip in?" Ultron wondered, looking around as if in search of something. "That creature isn't here."

Wanda, however, took Ultron's moment of confusion to take out of her phone. She was about to press the red button when suddenly she felt extreme danger nearing her. A beam of energy rushed out of Ultron's hands, and Wanda barely had a moment to activate her powers.

Her forearms got burned by the force as she stumbled against the furthest war. Looking back at the enemy, she noticed him holding her phone tightly.

"I don't how you figured out my plans regarding Helen, but coming here alone was a huge mistake." Ultron destroyed the phone with one hand. "The only one who can stop me is that man, and after I get this body, he won't be a problem either."

'I can't lose.' Wanda got up from the floor, her hands radiating with crimson energy. In the room, just next to somehow strangely acting Helen, Wanda could see a long scepter glittering with immense coercion. 'The stone is just there. I just need to steal it.'

Wanda pushed her powers against Ultron, forcing him to plunge against the wall. She didn't stop pushing for an instant, not letting Ultron use any of his limbs, as she slowly made her way towards the scepter.

With each step, it was getting harder and harder to control the robot. She tried ripping Ultron's body piece by piece, but it proved impossible to do. Eventually, however, she reached the room and extended her hand towards the scepter.

Yet, something she didn't expect happened. Helen, who always seemed so selfless and innocent, grabbed the knife on the table and attacked Wanda. What the hell?

Caught by surprise, Wanda couldn't do anything else other than to defend herself from the crazed woman. Using her powers, she pushed Helen out of her way, simultaneously releasing Ultron from any restrictions.

It wasn't even a second before she felt a kick descending on her ribcage, forcing her to hit against the floor. Slightly fazed after the attack, Wanda looked up with blurry eyes.

"Annoying." Ultron grabbed Loki's Scepter by the handle, looking at Wanda from above. "That man is already interfering too much with my plans. I wonder what he will think when his comrade will turn against him."

As these words echoed through the vicinity, Ultron touched Wanda's upper part of the body with the scepter. Her ears were still buzzing and her body was weak from the attack, so she managed little resistance.

"Huh?" Ultron descended the scepter on Wanda once again, yet the same ensued. Nothing happened, not even a bit of reaction from Wanda. "Why doesn't it work?"

Finally, Wanda regained her senses as she pushed onto Ultron's body immediately, sending him flying multiple feet away. Then she focused her powers on the scepter itself, forcing it towards her. Attracting it.

'That was close.' Wanda thought, stomping Ultron deeper into the wall while also pulling the scepter with her other hand. It was long before she had used her powers so much, so it already put a great stroll on her body. 'It's a good thing Ultron didn't know that scepter doesn't work on me.'

"No!" Ultron succumbed to the force and released the scepter out of his grip, sending it flying towards Wanda at a prompt speed. A smirk appeared on Wanda's face as she extended her hand to greet it.

Now, all she had to was escape.

Yet, her smile disappeared the instant she saw a shield appearing out of nowhere. It hit against the scepter and cleared of Wanda's powers. Her expression tightening, Wanda cocked her head sideways to see Captain America standing there.

"What are you doing here? Are you working together with Ultron?" Steve asked Wanda from a distance as he mumbled something into the chip on his forearm. Wanda didn't pay his words any heed, rushing towards the scepter promptly.

Her entire body ached with pain, and she could barely use her powers anymore from the exhaustion. How did Avengers find out about Ultron's plan so fastly? Why did they have to appear at such a critical moment?

Steve proved to be much faster than Wanda, and jumping over the desk full of papers, he reached the scepter first. Wanda used her last shreds of stamina to release an attack from her palms, yet Steve shrugged it off by using his shiels.

"I will have to confiscate this." Steve grabbed the scepter, setting of sprinting in the opposite direction from Wanda immediately. Though Wanda struggle to get up, she had little hope of catching up with Steve.

While Steve was sprinting with ridiculous agility, he suddenly felt an immense force descending on his back. Pain flooded his mind as he set off flying into the wall.

From beneath the hole caused by Wanda's power, a figure of Ultron manifested. He paid no more attention to the hindrances, grabbing the scepter by its hilt.

Both Steve and Wanda didn't have any time to react before Ultron jumped through the window, also not forgetting to take Helen together with him. Though struggling to stay on his feet, Steve jumped out of the building right after the robot.

However, Wanda remained on the floor, coughing up some blood from her mouth. She never felt so exhausted before...

She failed.
