Then suddenly a girl ran in, her name was Krista she wore their uniform and stood in line with them.

Although she was a noob, who took no part in the fight at Shingashina, she was still willing to take part in it, fighting against the titan is something she would be honored to do.

"Cadet, you don't have to-" Commander Erwin could tell that the she was forcing herself in, the tears that were about to drop from her eyes was a give away.

"I have made up my mind, sir" Krista said.

"A new Cadet?, what is she doing all the way here?" Armin questioned.

Commander Erwin sighed, looking at the soldiers in front of him that stayed, there were a total of 18 carats that chose to become a scout.

"Those of you that chose to give your assistance, you have my respect," Erwin said with a salute.

After that night, the next morning the newly recruited scouts were brought to the tower at Rose, the former scout's headquarters.

Ayato was asleep when he suddenly felt something heavy resting on his stomach.

He opened his eyes to see Ava sitting on him, "Please get up" He said with a stern look on his face.

"Well Good morning sleepy head, get up, your friends will be here any minute now" Ava smiled as she pulled him up from the bed.

Eren was outside feeding the horse, "Do I feed them all?" Eren asked, holding a basket of grass inside.

Jacob, the man in charge of the stable replied, "Nah, they don't eat much" He grabbed the basket from Eren.

"Thank you sir" Eren thanked the man, he was about to take his leave, but then he spotted Armin and Mikasa passing by with a few of his other teammates.

"Armin!" He yelled, "Excuse me but could I go say hi to my friends" He requested from Gunther.

"Sure whatever" Gunther replied.

Eren ran over to them, "Armin, Mikasa".

"Eren" Armin called out, he was almost in relief.

"Eren? Where's Ayato?" Mikasa asked, her eyes holding so much anticipation, almost like a little girl waiting to open her Christmas gift.

"I don't know, I think he should be" Before Eren could finish his sentence, Ayato went busting out from the building beside them.

Screaming in fear as he came out, he went crashing into Mikasa and they both ended up on the floor.

With Mikasa on top of him, Ayato gave a warm smile, "Hey" He said.

"Hey, are you okay?" Mikasa asked as they looked into each other's eyes.

"I'm alright, been through worse"

"That's not what I meant, did they put you through any cruel harsh experiments" This time, she held a serious look on.

"Of course not,"

"Tch! That man, I'll make him pay for hurting you like that" Mikasa glared.

"Who? You mean Captain Levi? Yeah, I want revenge on him too, and also Eren!" He made sure he screamed out Eren's name as he stood up from the ground.

"Shut it! Don't go bullshiting me, it's not my fault some crazy chick commander is after you" Eren yelled.

"A girl is after you?" Mikasa asked, although there was no facial expression, Ayato couldn't help but shiver.

"He doesn't know what he's talking about."

Jean gave out an awkward laugh, "It's official, your whole family are psychopaths, there is a war going on, and you're horsing around" Jean yelled.

The rest of the squad, including Armin, didn't dare to talk, because they understood exactly why he reacted like that.

"It's cool to goof around every once in a while, it's how we know we are humans in the God-forsaken world," Ayato said, dusting their dirt off his body.

"Who are you?" Jean asked, it was no surprise, Ayato wasn't around during their training exercise.

"Doesn't matter, what I'm trying to say is-"

Jean ignored him and turned to Eren, "Marco is dead," He said with a serious look on his face.

"Come on Jean, you said no more horsing around" Eren desperately wanted to believe him to be joking.

"I wouldn't joke about something this serious, I wish I could say he fired heroically, but the truth is, I don't even know how he died, no one did."

Eren looked at the face of the remaining cadets and saw the sad look on their faces, he needed no proof to know that Jean was telling the truth.

"I see" Eren faced the ground, with a gloomy look as he finally remembered why he was fighting in the first place.

A section commander yelled from afar, breaking the tension that had been building up "okay, time to get your uniforms".

They all went over and wore it, the uniform itself symbolizes power, nothing could make a scout prouder.

Ayato looked at the icon at the back of the uniform, "Freedom, how ironic is that, doesn't matter… back to business, pretty sure I know what happens from here, and I'll be damned if I don't stop it" He looked at the sky with his face completely overwritten with determination.

It took them one month, one whole month for them to get ready for the mission, they named it, The 54 Expenditures Beyond the wall.

A total of 180 scouts were going to participate in the mission, they had them go over Erwin's plan, their main mission was to locate Eren Yeager's home and find the secrets of the titan that was hidden in the seller.

With the gate at Trost shut permanently, Commander Erwin plots a route through Karanes, the eastern district of Wall Rose in order to plot a new path to Shiganshina.

After clearing all the Titans away from the wall thanks to the other scouts who were roaming the area.

The 54 expenditures began, with every house and soldier heading out the gate, Commander Erwin yelled, "Let us begin, Our mission is to get to the seller while avoiding as many titans as possible, let the 54 expenditures begin!"
