108 Chapter 0 : A mother will do anything

"Stop sleeping like a pig and wake up."

At the sound of that familiar voice James slowly opened his eyes and saw an incomparably blue, vast sky that can only be described as beautiful.

The pain gone, his incredibly heightened senses had become commonplace, he looked at the mirror-like ground and saw his reflection.

He was immediately surprised to see his reflection showing him a thin and youthful face and body, it was the appearance of his 6 years.

"Where am I?"

He said slowly with a slight fear and alertness before a familiar female voice sounded behind him.

"You are in my metaphysical world."

James suddenly turned his head and the landscape changed and he found himself in front of a cottage overlooking a large lake with a small dock in front of it.

He was surprised to see a woman in her thirties with short, thin black hair wearing a Sunday best fisherman's outfit while holding a fishing pole sitting on the dock.

"Mom?!"

"You are too noisy, you will scare the fish away, come and sit down."

James slowly approached with a baffled look on his face and sat down next to the woman who looked like his mother.

"Is this a dream?"

He muttered as he looked at the familiar face next to him.

"You can see it as a dream but I already told you it's my metaphysical world, you're hard of hearing like your father, oh it bites!"

She stopped talking and suddenly pulled a city shoe out of the water, making her frown before angrily throwing it away as James began to laugh.

"Haha, quite a catch, you're a professional fisherwoman."

"Humpf you brat look at me, if I don't catch a fish of at least 1m I'm not called Liliane Rosa Art anymore."

She said with a determined look before throwing the hook with a bait into the water.

The two remained silent for a moment, then suddenly the line was stretched and Liliana turned the reel of the fishing rod quickly with all her strength.

"The fish is too strong, help me pull!"

James hurried to help her and the two pulled with all their strength and suddenly a rusty iron suit filled with stone came out of the water under the stunned eyes of both of them.

"..."

"..."

"Mom."

"Yes son?

"Give up the fishing."

"Since you insist I'll give up it for today, umm if you hadn't yelled earlier I probably would have caught a fish."

James hearing this, rolled his eyes and his mother seeing this, clenched her fists and looked at him with an evil smile.

"Do you have anything to say?"

"No! No! No! I absolutely cannot doubt your excellent fishing skills!"

James knew too well the strength of his old mother's fists, even kingkong was not his opponent!

"Ouch! Why did you hit me!"

James shouted as he rubbed his sore shoulder while putting some distance between him and his mother.

"For no reason I was just under the impression that you thought something unpleasant about me."

James was speechless at Liliane's sixth sense and then the two of them began to discuss everything and anything until the evening when James passionately told her about his life after her death, and all his adventures in Survival World.

Sometimes she looked worried listening to James and nervous at other times, she also laughed and hit James from time to time calling him an idiot when he talked about the risks he had taken before.

But he didn't talk about some things like the prosecution of the government or other things like his fight against hisoka.

The two of them discussed until sunset, sitting on the dock, watching the luminous star gradually disappear as if swallowed by the earth.

"Even if it's a dream it's nice to see you."

"Me too..."

"hum.. we're not in a dream."

"So what is this place?"

"The metaphysical world, you will understand when you become a five-star creature."

Hearing this James was surprised he looked at his mother who was lazily admiring the sky with a strange look.

"Are you a traveler too?"

She remained silent for a moment shaking her head slowly.

"It's not important and I don't want to talk about it."

James suddenly seemed to have touched some secret puzzle piece that seemed to fit together in his brain, he didn't want to believe it but his instinct told him that all the events that had happened since he had come to Mars had something to do with his mother

It was then that she looked him straight in the eyes and said it while caressing his cheeks.

"You are my only son, one of the only two people I love most in this world, I wish I had more time for you but I want you to know that your mother loves you and will not do anything to harm you."

She wrapped her arms around James as tears slipped from his cheeks.

"Know that a mother will do anything for her child, even if it means putting the entire universe at risk."

And suddenly she pushed the small James in the water which sank without even having the possibility of making a sele movement losing little by little consciousness, drowned.

"A mother will do anything."

This sentence resounded in the mind of James who suddenly opened his eyes waking up in his hotel room.

His body covered in sweat, he stood up hurriedly and saw his late mother's Glock on the ground next to his bagpack, melted down with a rainbow gemstone floating beside it.

"What the fuck happened!?"
