Chapter sixteen

Cleveland, OHIO USA 2001

I arrived at Cleveland and called my mother to meet me at a restaurant downtown. I carried Chloe in my arms and left her pram safely outside. Chloe was quiet busy sucking on her pacifier. Her jet black hair was curly and thick and was neatly styled in bunches. I looked at Chloe once more then ordered a bottle of rum for myself accompanied with a box of cupcakes. I felt like eating cupcakes and had nothing more. Just when I saw the greatest surprise of my life. April and Ellen talking to each other entering the restaurant. They spotted me and with extreme surprise, came to me.

"OMG….Charlotte longest time", "So surprised to see you Charly". They greeted and both gave me a hug.

"You've changed Charlotte. You've become Zaftig," April commented.

"And you've Changed too," I said.

April was still average sized. The way she was normally but she was dressed too skimpy and her auburn hair was all short in a bob. She looked like a whore. And for Ellen, not too skimpy but was just the right companion for April.

"Charlotte's now chubby," Ellen said then smiled. They both sat down.

"And who owns this terrifically cute plump baby," April said whilst stroking Chloe's plump cheeks.

I put my head down and my voice was quite shaky, "it's my baby."

"What???", April and Ellen exclaimed in extreme shock.

"What happened Charly?", April asked gaping at me.

My eyes were watery. "April I'm so sorry. I'm very sorry. I never told you April and I'm deeply sorry," I started crying as I quickly wiped my hot tears with my napkin.

"Charly talk to me. What happened?," April asked curiously.

"Daniel. Daniel forced me to sleep with him when we were at that party in tenth grade. I'm so sorry April. I'm sorry for betraying you. I know I didn't tell you earlier. Please forgive me. I found out the next day when the club was already empty. Everyone was gone. I wanted to call you but I was so ashamed. I'm so sorry," I cried quietly but heavy tears rushed down my face.

"So that's what you were doing behind my back, huh? Sleeping with Daniel," April didn't look angry but her voice deepened with grimness.

"It was a one night stand. You know I can't do that to you April. I was forced to. I'm so sorry," I pleaded and tried to explain myself.

"Charlotte you don't have to cry. It's okay," April comforted me.

"Okay??? I totally betrayed you and it's not okay," I sniffed.

"No, like seriously, it's okay. I broke up with Daniel four days after the party," April said to me.

"Broke up," my voice was shaky. "How, why?"

April smiled wickedly. "That fucker that was banging my younger sister behind my back".

I was owly eyed. "Really? What did you do to your sister?"

"Nothing".

"Nothing? Just nothing.."

"I forgave her the way I'm forgiving you now. Besides Daniel is trash. I deserve better", April mentioned.

"Thank you April. Thank you Ellen", I said with extreme gratitude.

"What? I didn't say anything. You didn't get forced to fuck my boyfriend…I won't blame you though. Some blokes are selfish." Ellen said.

I smiled and managed to scoff my cupcake. "So what are you doing April and Ellen? Are you guys in college?"

"No," they said simultaneously.

"Why?", I questioned.

"This baby right here owns a hot brothel. I have my own sex tool. Eddie Bryan. So handsome, sexy and rich. And thanks to him, I own a brothel," April proudly said.

"April that's unlike you. I don't think this is a good choice," I advised.

"Since when did you start motivational speaking. I'm already in it. You can't change my mind darling," April stupidly said.

"What about you Ellen?", I turned to Ellen.

"Well", Ellen said pushing her ash blonde hair back. "I'm working in my dad's firm as his personal assistant".

"That's rad", I nodded.

"What's her name?", April asked.

I looked at her, puzzled.

"Your baby's name,"

"Oh, her name is Chloe."

"She's beautiful and chubby like her mother."

I laughed.

"I gotta ask….Are you a blonde or a ginger head?", Ellen asked with an astonished face.

I smiled at her. Ellen has a sense of humor unlike April who is straight to the core.

"I'm both," I laughed.

"So what are you gonna do about Daniel?", asked Ellen.

"Do you know where he lives?", I asked the girls.

"Why did you ask?", April questioned Irritatingly.

"To deal with him, duhhhh", I said somewhat tartly.

"Okay, well here's his address card", April handed me a piece of paper.

"The fuck…what're you still doing with his address?", I asked, raising an eyebrow meaningfully.

"Caz the heel's one of my regular customer", April dryly said with a smug smile…
