Konrad watched Mia as she pulled the lever with excitement clear on her face. He started to muse how his life changed dramatically since she started living with them.

When she first woke up, she was visibly scared and traumatized. Even when he assured her that she was safe and spend a day patiently explaining everything, whenever she smiled, Konrad could see that deep down, there was still that scared little girl who never stopped running from the Shadowy Mist.

He knew that it wouldn't do to leave her like this, so he decided to act on it right away. Unlike in all those stories in books and films, where a traumatized person hid their trauma under a mask, only for the others to act after a few weeks when the person was already miserable, Konrad acted right on the second day of her arrival. And he didn't regret doing that. When he saw her genuine smile she wore from that day onward, he knew that he did the right thing, by making her spill all her pain and worries out on him. He could practically see as a huge weight lifted up from her shoulders.

He decided to stop his musings because Mia was running to him with a black orb in her hand and an excited expression adorning her face.

≈Look, Look Konrad. I got my first reward! It's a lesser Mana Potions! ≈ She proclaimed with elation. Konrad had no heart to tell her that it was the most useless reward in the Gacha when he saw her smile so brightly. He returned her smile and said-

"Great work Mia. But keep on going. You still have twenty one more rewards to check out." He said while patting her head. She purred happily and returned back to the machine.

The more time they spend together the more cat-like he would catch her behaving. It was honestly quiet adorable as he realized that she was usually trying to hide this part of her from the outside world.

Soon enough more and more rewards started to appear And Mia surprised Konrad when after a dozen or so rewards she brought him a legendary orb!

≈Konrad! This one is like a rainbow, you see?!≈ She made such a cute expression of wonderment that for a moment he stayed focused on her pretty face instead of what she was saying to him.

≈...Konrad?≈ She asked when he didn't reply.

"O-Oh sorry! I was just surprised.Its a legendary prize! You might get something amazing from it. Can you show me?" He asked and she nodded happily before handing him the orb. Konrad read the description but he didn't expect to see something like this....

Konrad's eyes opened wide. Wasn't that the...no wait, it's different than the one I got in the past! This one just sends you to another world instead of putting you as the Hero. Interesting and amazing!

Konrad smiled at Mia and hugged her, which made her blush and giggle when he whirled her around playfully.

"You really found another treasure Mia! This is going to be yet another research that might give us a lot work and adventure later." He said before storing the orb. " I'll keep it safe for now with the other ones. Let's open. the rest."

Soon enough another interesting thing found it's way into Mia's hands.

It was just like the Fey Language Dictionary buy the Orc language is a very weak magic language apparently, so it was only good if they wanted to read something in Orcish.

All the other rewards bar one were rather typical. A few space storages and a lot of potions and equipment. But what caught his eye the most was yet another Observe!

He decided that there was nothing that stopped Mia from using it and the Space Storage orbs to gain their abilities. It would be certainly very useful for her and it made Konrad remember that he still had one Observe Skill Orb laying in his inventory. He should give it to Octavia when they return back. Why he didn't do so until now was a mystery.

Another thing that gave him a new idea was the Advanced Weapon Manual. He remembered that he had one unopened Basic version of the manual so he already knew What Mia would be doing for the next few weeks. He would also give her the Ambidexterity Skill Orb he had in his inventory as he had no use for it.

All in all, Mia was very satisfied with today's opening and the rewards she received.

She especially enjoyed Konrad's praises and head pats she got after every Orb she showed him. She might have gotten a bit addicted to his touch. Not that she minded it...

When they returned back from the gacha space, Konrad was assaulted by a small bubble of jelly flying at high speed.

*Daddy! Why did you not take me with you! I was already running inside when you two teleported!* Shouted Octavia affronted while hugging into his chest.

"Tavy? I'm Sorry, I didn't know you were coming. And I thought that you were to busy to come with this secret project of yours." He tried to explain.

*That shouldn't have mattered! The time is stopped in there anyway! I wouldn't loose time even if I went with you two.* She replied matter of factly.

Konrad scratched his head awkwardly.

≈Hello Octavia, How are you today?≈ Mia leaned over to the slime with a warm smile on her face. Octavia's inexistent eyes flashed with a sudden idea.

*Oh Mia! Right you'll do fine! Come with me! I need your help with something!* Octavia suddenly exclaimed and pushed Miastiti out of the room leaving Konrad alone and confused.

"...What just happened?...Hey wait! I have some things for you two!" He shouted and run after the girls...

After giving Octavia the Observe skill orb and giving Mia the two Weapon manual orbs, he left them to whatever they were doing.

Whenever he wasn't spending time with one of them, they would usually stay together.

In the beginning, Octavia wasn't really too fond of Mia for whatever reason, but after some time, the two suddenly became the bestest of friends...He didn't know how it happened... but it just happened....

He was very curious what the two were up to in that workshop but he decided to give them privacy. He thought that it was high time he looked into that Broken Sword piece he left to self-repair.

Mia blushed and giggled.

≈Thank you Tavi! Oh! And have you seen his muscles!? He has a god-like body, Nya! And I know what I'm talking about. Uncle Chorus liked to walk around with his chest bare for the world to see.≈ Mia reminisced with a blush.

*Oh yeah! And he's so handsome too!...Right, how did you say your arm moved? something like this?* Tavy asked.

≈Nyes, just add a bit more muscles, but not too much. Yes, perfect! You have such amazing abilities Tavi!≈ Mia praised Octavia.

*Giggle**That's all thanks to you Mia, you are a great help! I'm so happy to finally have a female friend! When I'm finished, let's work on ensnaring Daddy's heart together!* She proclaimed.

In another part of the Lab, Konrad was unaware of the girly talks that were currently happening. Suddenly he shuddered and sneezed. 'Is someone talking behind my back?' He thought, and then shrugged before returning back to work on the mysterious Sword's fragment...
