Tavy the boat builder.

Konrad was never a social person. Keeping close ties with people was a complicated process for him and he always felt bad because of it.

When he was younger, he started reading stories about adventures with main characters surrounded by many close friends, lovers etc. Before he knew it, he started to long for attention, but he didn't know how to get it. He was always a quirky child, often doing something stupid and/or annoying, only to finally understand that it wasn't the type of attention that he wanted. He spent years working on his behaviour and slowly came to the conclusion that he was much better than before. He still kept his quirkiness because it was something that differed him from others and he liked it, but he became more aproachable and less annoying.

But with all this he never had a true friend. Bartholomew and Mathew used to be his classmates and after that they stayed in contact but he couldn't call them true friends. They were at most friends that he could hang out with and play computer games but they wouldn't talk about their problems nor would they help each other much in a bad situation.

Konrad wasn't delusional.

But now Konrad had Tavy, and for the first time in his life he could tell for certain that he had a true friend. Tavy was a companion, a familiar, a best friend who worries and cares about him the same way he cares about It. Konrad was really amazed with Tavy. It was so young yet it could show such a wide range of emotions.

And it was getting smarter day after day! Konrad continued to teach Tavy many different things in hope of increasing it's intelligence and was really happy when his effort was rewarded. Tavy's intelligence stat actually rised by another whole point reaching nine! It was almost on the average human level!

Konrad was deep in such thoughts while walking through the Greek village, not far from the place he stayed for their trip.

He didn't realize that a boat was laying in his way until his face met with the cold wood.

"...OWWW!! Tavy why didn't you warn me?" Konrad asked The Slime in the carrier with a pout.

*AMUSED WIGGLE*

"Stop laughing!...Hahaha! Alright alright it was my fault, I get it." Konrad said with a smile while he massaged his forehead.

"Huh i didn't even realize when we entered onto the beach. I was so deep in thoughts... Right what was i doing?...Oh yes! We were supposed to dive in the sea right? Let me just check the Map." Konrad said and with a wave of his hand the Map Of Revealment appeared in front of them.

"Oh...Were practically there...good...Ohh..." Konrad made a worried sound when he looked in the direction of where he was supposed to dive.

There was a cliff under which, the beach ended to give place to a mountain of jagged rocks... Not a very inviting place for someone who wished to go diving in the area, even if the actual point of diving was far from the coast.

"Jeez now I'm really happy that i spend this three/ten days on water manipulation..." Konrad muttered.

After the second needle appeared in the compass and showed the place to be under water, Konrad decided to finally move his magical research about water, out from the theoretical field. Because manipulation of physical concepts was much more complicated and power draining, Konrad was usually focusing on things like Wind, Fire and light magic, but now none of them would be much useful, so for safety's sake, Konrad began his research on water magic.

But after two days his family became concerned with Konrad staying so long inside his room so he had to once again use the Time dilation of the Gacha Space. It was a good thing he made the portable formation but he was worried about staying to long and to often inside. What if he became old suddenly? He already wasn't sure whether his birthday was still the same as before. He just assumed that it was a date of the day he was born and not the date of exactly one year between every birthday. but still he was probably already a month older than he should be...

But with another weak spend inside, Konrad finally figured out basic way of manipulating water, based on the wind formations he made in the past. The most important was a water propeller formation that he turned into a spell so he could aid himself in the water. There was also an accidental discovery while he tried to make something like a water wall. He wanted to make the water hard, but instead, Konrad caused the water particles to slow down, successively cooling it down and making a wall of ice! Just like this Konrad created ice magic! He was very excited with that outcome because that allowed him to create some combat magic that he could use underwater.

Now the only thing that he needed to do was to somehow reach the diving spot without swimming a few hundred meters and without hitting the jaged rocks on the coast...

His eyes fell once again on the boat that he crashed with and an idea struck him.

"I need a boat..."

Finding a boat was easier than he thought. Konrad just went to to a boat rental, and "Borrowed" one of them under the Invisibility and Aura of ignorance. He wasn't too happy with the prospect of stealing but he wasn't going to rent a boat with their exorbitant prizes, and the only language he knew that could be used here was english. and judging by the appearance of the old clerk, he wasn't much of a polyglot... In any case the small boat looked old and shabby and it was stored in a shed among some broken boat stuff. He was pretty sure that no one would miss it anyway.

There was also a good chance that the boat was broken but he would check that later. if anything, he could just freeze the leakage and all will be good for while.

There was also Tavy. if It wanted, It could actually leave a bit of it's jelly, which purposes could range from a powerful adhesive to a powerful acid. He might try testing Tavy's abilities since the occasion appeared.

Before long they were back at the shore by the jagged coast. After confirming that no one was nearby, Konrad took out the small boat and started to look at it closer.

It was indeed quiet shabby and there were some holes in a few places. it certainly wasn't fit for the sea. Konrad looked at Tavy and asked.

"You think you can do something to repair it?"

Tavy seemed to be very eager to help, because as soon as he said those words, the little slime clinged onto the boat and Konrad could see as the black grease, marine sediment and old paint started to dissolve under Tavy's touch. It moved over the surface of the boat like a snail cleaning it and when it was finally done with the cleaning the boat looked quiet nice...But there was even more holes than before! He was about to point that out when Tavy once again started to move around the boat, a blue coloured slime smoothly covered the places where Tavy passed. Konrad started to worry because Tavy started to visibly shrink while just a moment ago it was the size of a basketball after consuming the grease on the boat. Now it was back to the size of a hand ball, just like on the day it was born and it continued to shrink.

"Uhhh Tavy? Don't you need to eat something? You're shrinking..." He said with a worried voice.

Tavy seemed to stop for a second as if pondering that fact before pointing at a tree log that lied in the sand nearby with a slime tentacle. Konrad already knew what that meant.

Tavy was slowly improving It's body control and making tentacles was It's recent achievement for which it got a lot of hugs.

After experimenting with each other, Konrad also found out that Tavy could only increase it's volume with organic material. It could digest things like rocks and metal but they seemed to have another yet unknown purpose for Tavy.

Konrad brought the log and Tavy started to digest it slowly. After five minutes it was back to the size of a basketball and it went back to covering the boat.

Soon enough the entire boat was covered in that blue slime that already started to harden and solidify in some places.

"Wow...that actually looks pretty cool..." Konrad knocked on the solidified surface and said. "I think it's stronger than plastic..."

He grinned and looked at Tavy with appreciation. Tavy was certainly waiting for a praise so Konrad gave it to It.

"You're amazing Tavy! I'm really impressed with your work. I knew about those abilities but I'm impressed with how smooth you made it and how precise you were!" Tavy received a thorough stroking, petting and hugging afterwards.

Tavy was very happy to be appreciated. After their impromptu bonding session finished it went back to it's carrier but then both of them realized that Tavy was still bigger than before so she wouldn't fit in. Konrad wanted to say something but Tavy suddenly started to shrink and happily went into her comfy carrier.

"Did.. Did you just store your excess jelly in your nucleus?" He asked surprised, finding no better explanation.

Tavy replied proudly in affirmative and Konrad smiled. "We learn something new every day, haha!"
