The 4 Deities
Having nothing better to do, Teras started taking walks around the town seeing interesting places and experimenting with language
'I can read the signs so that must be good but some words are oversimplified versions of words I already know! Weird' Teras thought as he kept on looking around the town
It was peaceful in this town, no conflict or trouble ever seemed to happen, maybe because this is the hometown of Tokkou, nobody could ever do anything in the presence of the Grand Jack, a title Tokkou claimed as he was the protector of the city or someone of a higher pedestal
"Yo Teras! It wasn't so nice leaving me all alone back there!" Clair said with a serious expression on her face
"Well sorry about that but it was crucial! You see I got to see Tokkou!"
Clair got in front of Teras's face when he said that
"Really? This easily? I thought Tokkou's maids didn't let you in"
"Have you been listening to me? I said I know Tokkou he even told me he will help me with something else..." Teras was about to reveal his memory loss but he didn't
Tokkou was the only one that knew about his current lack of memory and Teras wanted to keep it that way
"Oh, I see! So what are you going to do now?" Clair said as her face brightened up again
"Nothing in particular, how about you? Are you planning something for the assassination?" Teras asked her in order to change the topic
"I told you! It's not necessary" Clair said with a smile
"Can I ask you one last thing?" Teras asked as he looked into her eyes
"Why are you killing people?"
"I haven't killed anybody yet, my target will be my first and last, would you like to know who that target will be? Although you may not like my answer" Clair said with a smile on his face
Teras didn't reply but he looked ready to hear the answer so Clair announced it proudly
"My target is Tokkou! The Grand Jack, he is the one that killed my parents Teras, I don't know what connection you have with him but I have to murder him!" Clair said with a beast-like look on her face
"There is no way you can do that" Teras said with an awkward smile
Clair then left out an aura that suffocated Teras, Teras also felt like something was griping his lungs
"You feel it, don't you? The intensity of my mana!"
"What's that?" Teras wondered out loud as he hardly breathed
Clair then stopped emitting this aura and left Teras behind
'I have to tell Tokkou about it!' Teras thought as he ran back into the mansion
Becka opened the door, she looked kind of annoyed
"Master told you not to come here until tomorrow!"
"There is an assassin in town that wants to attack Tokkou! She is super strong!"
Teras warned Becka but she didn't look surprised
"So? It's not like master can't handle a simple assassin!"
Teras was quite confused by her reaction
"Who is it? Oh, Teras! Come in I just finished the papers!" Tokkou said as he appeared by hind the short Becka
"What! You said you had paperwork that would take a day" Becka schooled him
"Well, I'm bored to do them! I will simply visit the royal capital on my own tomorrow, so back to the important stuff! Teras are you ready for my hand-made presentation?"
Tokkou said as he dragged Teras inside the mansion and then to the backyard
"Voila! What do you think?"
Tokkou said as he showed Teras a painting of cards and a circle divided by four parts with a circle in the middle
It was VERY bad
"What am I supposed to understand?" Teras asked confused as he looked at the presentation
" Since you are not a visual learner I will simply tell you! There are 4 kingdoms the Heart, Clover , Diamond and Spade each kingdom is special in their way, weather , power , environment etc, for example here at Heart kingdom its basically hot all the time and the place is full of tall trees so they can cool down the land, in Heart kingdom our fighting style is different too , we have a more defensive fighting style, the Clover kingdom is a more windy and cold place, it also has a lot of exotic fruits there and the people there usually have more average mana than the other kingdoms, the Spade kingdom is a really green place with a lot of flowers but it has its deserts here and there, also they fight more aggressively than the others and finally the Diamond kingdom is a cold place with a lot of mountains and snows, they posses a pretty balanced amount of mana and with a really mechanical type of fighting style, each kingdom has it's own king and queen and a jack whose role is to be like a agent of multiple uses like fighting, negotiating and more, also in the middle of the world lays the land that all kingdoms share, the land is called the Midland, in this area you can find the high king and high queen that is the place I work too, that's all you need to know about the kingdoms or also known as the royal capital"
Teras understood what the drawing of the circle meant to be now
"Now tell me about the cards! You showed me one but I still didn't understand how exactly they work!"
"So the cards are the source of power in this world, there are special schools that teach you how to use the power of cards properly, a person can use up to 3 different powers of cards but he can only possess one and if he possesses one card he can't use any other power again, but in exchange, the power that the card gives to the possessor is increased heavily, so if I fought with another person that simply borrows the power of the Jack they would lose to me since I posses the card of Jack itself got it?"
Teras nodded
"So what do all the other cards do? And are they like the other playing cards?" Teras asked
"Precisely! Keep in mind that every card increases the mana pool of its possessor, the ace can manipulate the darkness as he desires, 2 is super strength, 3 gives you super speed, 4 is weapon mastery basically you can use the swords and spears like a master, 5 is electricity mastery, 6 is fire mastery, 7 is water mastery, 8 is earth mastery, 9 is air mastery,10 teleportation power, the jack is the card I posses and as I told you gives the user the power of telekinesis, the queen can manipulate light, and finally the king can shoot out lasers and increases mana pool by a lot and then there is the Joker which nobody really knows what he does and I never got to see him but he existed, there are limited people that have seen Joker and survived because there were rumors that Joker in the past was a maniac, murdering people, causing chaos, destroying kingdoms, he could do everything and no one could stop him, he was a beast unable to be controlled, the only person that put an end to The Joker was the game master, which is rumored to possess every card from ace to king"
Tokkou explained
"How is that possible? Don't you have the Jack card?"
"They say he has another pair of cards or something I don't know"
"If the game master exists then how are kings ruling their kingdom?" Teras asked confused
"The kings are controlling the people, the high king is controlling the kings and the high king is being controlled by the game master that's how the system works"
"That sounds depressing... Everyone being in control sounds sad" Teras said
"Well everybody is under control by something, in a way you can say that everyone is a slave to something, like their ideals since ideals are what makes a human complete and the way they follow them is a way to keep sanity in this world" Tokkou said with a cold voice
It was Teras's first time he saw Tokkou act serious
"Never mind that! Let's move to the mana subject! The most important stuff!" Tokkou said with his casual smile
"Mana huh? I think that rings a bell..." Teras thought it was something from his past, something he couldn't remember
"I mean I also mentioned before, mana is a source of energy that all living things use on an everyday basis, but if you can control it and use it for your benefits then it can be used as a dangerous weapon plus is fairly easy to learn and hard to master so if you want to start from somewhere I recommend you to start from mana"
"Then can we start soon?" Teras said in excitement
"If you want to learn you have to wait, so I can find a maid to teach you"
"Your maids are experienced in a lot of subjects, it really surprises me, to be honest"
"Well they serve a card possessor and most specifically the Grand Jack so it's the least you can expect, anyways I'm going to tell a maid named Becka, you have seen her! She will be in this backyard around 7 p.m. so don't be late, after you learn mana you will have to ask you to leave, I already helped you enough, your pretty eyes can't take you further than that!" Tokkou said as he approached Teras's eyes
Teras shortly after he left the mansion to continue his little adventure in town, Tokkou continued his daily routine of training
The people in the town moved silently but were happy too, the influence the grand Jack had in this town was obvious, bars named after Tokkou, a statue devoted to him, and a big arena created by him, Tokkou was the main attraction of the city
Teras then decided to relax on a bench near the Tokkou's statue, suddenly a bunny appeared, it had a weird horn on its head
"Are you lost body?" Teras asked the bunny
The bunny simply hopped away from Teras
Teras was sad to see it ignore him like that but he continued relaxing on the bench for some time
Hours passed like seconds and it was about time Teras received his special training but sadly Teras happened to be in the middle of nowhere in town so he had to pass through the narrow streets of the town to get to the mansion faster, while he walked through them he saw something weird
"Hey, why don't we cut its front legs and watch it hop like a frog?" A man asked
Tera also heard squealing noises so he approached them to see what is happening, surprisingly he saw three men abusing a bunny, the same bunny he saw earlier
"Hey, what the hell are you doing to that bunny?" Teras yelled
The three men turned around to see Teras glaring at them
"What do you want kid? We are just having fun!" One of the men said
It looked like he was the captain of that group
"Torturing a bunny is fun for you? Then do you want to have fun together?" Teras said as he gripped the bone of his sword
The men felt a certain amount of pressure coming from Teras
"Let's bounce! Is not worth fighting over a stupid bunny!" The man said
Everyone then started walking away, they walked past Teras but it seems that their intention wasn't peaceful after all, the captain of the group tried to kill Teras by cutting his head into two with a vertical attack, but something stranger happened
Teras simply stepped to the right dodging the attack and with the speed of his rotation he hook-kicked the man bringing him to the ground and slamming him on the ground with his leg
"H-How did he do that?" The tall man of the group asked with a scared impression
"Take him and leave..." Teras said
He was more shocked than they were but he tried to hide it by turning away from them
They quickly carried their friend and left and Teras quickly went to check on the bunny
'Shit! It has too many scars on it! Tokkou! He could heal me back there so he must be able to do something about the bunny!" Teras thought as he picked the bunny
He then run as fast as he could to the mansion
He knocked on the door and a maid opened up after seeing his eyes, Tokkou told his maids that Teras would be a red-eyed kid, and unless they are demons red eyes are very rare in this world so they knew at first sight, but the maid opening the door was confused about the bunny
Teras quickly ran to the backyard with the bunny in his hands, as expected he saw Becka waiting for him in the backyard
"Where were you, kid? Making me wait here 23 seconds longer, the audacity!" Becka said as she tapped her shoe
"Becka please heal it!" Teras yelled
Becka saw the bunny and knew what to do
"Put it down kid and watch how it is done!"
Becka said as she emitted the green healing light as Tokkou did back there...
