New Home

After a few days, I finally got out of the hospital and the boy's family thanked me. Since my brother already set up everything for me. I just need to continue my daily life.

"Well, here we are!" He exclaimed. It was a pretty huge apartment and we're on the second floor. He carried all my stuff, while showing the other rooms. He carried the entire luggage while I only held the hourglass.

Kaitou took all of my stuff from my aunt. She seemed pretty happy when he was taking all of them.

She probably wanted me out of that household in the first place. He then went to an empty room with all my stuff and started unpacking. He's probably showing me that it'll be my room.

I sat down on a couch, trying to get used to the new environment. This apartment is pretty close to my school so it'll be more convenient for me. For the mean time, my brother would be a student teacher at my school.

Observing the apartment, it honestly looked like he's been living here for months. I stood up and went to the kitchen to make tea. I had a hard time finding the cups and tea bags, but I still managed to make tea. After making it, I placed the tea on the table in the living room.

"It's finished!" Kaitou shouted as he went out of my room. "Oh you made tea?"

"Yeah, I did. I'm pretty surprised on how quick you fixed my room. "

"Well, I'm just perfect I guess." He said as he rubs his hair.

"You narcissist, "I sighed. "Can I go into my new room now? "

"Sure, I'll stay here for a while!" He smiled and sat down on the couch and took a book.

I entered my room, amazed on how girly it looks. It's not like my preferences but I appreciate that he put up a few anime and K-pop posters on the wall.

I opened my closet, amazed on how organised it is. I guess he's quite a perfectionist. Either way, I laid down on my new soft bed and fell asleep.

"..Ne...Rene...Irene, wake up!" I heard my brother's voice that made me force open my eyes.

"Kaitou?" I asked while still feeling sleepy.

"It's lunch, let's eat." He offered as he helps me get out from my bed.

We sat down across from each other and started eating the wonderful looking lunch in front of us. I first took a bite and screamed, "This is delicious!"

He smiled and started eating.

'You made this?" I asked.

"Of course I did, is it so good that you can't believe me?" He teased.

I rolled my eyes continued eating the meal. He's a really kind and gentle brother but he's such a narcissist he then placed a black card in front of me.

Surprised, I widened my eyes and asked, "Kaitou, what the fuck?"

"Come on, no swearing." He scolded. "That'll be your whole allowance for the school year."

"How the fuck, did you have one of those?" I asked.

"I... got adopted overseas by a rich old couple. Since aunt took everything from us, they took care for me and helped me with my studies. They're aware about everything happening here so no need to worry." He explained.

"Wait, is that even legal?" I asked in confusion.

"Who knows but it already happened so can't do anything about it."

"So... I can take this? "I asked.

"Yep, they told me themselves to give that to you." He said.

"Are they okay with you staying here in Japan?"

"You have too much questions Irene, besides I'm practically an adult now so it was okay with them."

I finally took the black card on the table and placed it inside my pockets. "I'd rather still have pocket money though."

"That'll do, alright? Don't spend too much by the way. I can still record on how much you spend or deposit every day." He explained.

"Yes, yes." I replied as I finish the food. "Actually, I have a question."

"What is it?" He asked.

"Can I buy merchandise or stuff using the money in here?" I asked as I hold the black card tightly.

"Yes, you can. Just try to discipline yourself when you spend money, okay?" He reminded me.

"Yes, sir!" I giggled.

"How about we take a stroll outside to get used to the place?" He suggested.

"Sure."

It was late after we finished the going around the area. By the time, we finally came back to our apartment. It was already dark.

"I'll just order pizza for dinner, is that okay with you?" He asked.

I nodded in agreement, "Not Hawaiian pizza, okay?" I said.

"Why not? It's pretty good if you ask me." He shrugged.

"Sorry but I am not having that," I said with a sassy look on my face.

I then head to my room. While he was ordering pizza, I went inside the bathroom to take a shower.

I took a pretty long shower and by the time I finished and changed into my pyjamas, our pizza already arrived and Kaitou already set up the pizza.

"Please tell me that you ordered me something that's not Hawaiian pizza." I stated as I walked out of my room.

"Don't worry, I ordered you bacon and-- Whoa, you look good in glasses." He commented.

"Thanks, I wear them while read manga or when I feel like it." I explained.

"Is that so?" He replied as he starts to eat a pizza slice.

I hurriedly went to the table and ate a pizza.

After a few minutes, we already finished all the pizza and I went to brush my teeth and sleep.

"Irene! Make sure you actually sleep and not use your phone!" Kaitou nags at me.

"Yeah, yeah. I know already!" I shouted back. I placed my phone on top of my desk and charged it. I stared at the hourglass, barely any sand was falling. It's really mesmerizing.

I put on a face mask and turn off the lights and finally went to sleep.

I woke up to the ringing sound of my alarm clock. I got up from my bed and took a bath.

After taking a bath, I changed into my uniform which is color black that has long sleeves. It has red outlines and yellow button. I had to wear a white blouse underneath. I also needed to wear a dark blue necktie for my uniform.

The skirt's length was just a little bit above my knees. Due to that I had to wear white long socks, when I finally finished changing. I brushed my black long hair and put a red clip on it.

Coming out of my room, Kaitou was waiting peacefully on the table reading mangas with the breakfast he prepared.

"Good morning, Irene!" He greeted. "Morning," I replied and sat down across to him.

"So do you think putting on glasses would make me look professional?" He asked.

I took a bit from my pancake and replied, "Probably."

"Thanks!" He replied as he put on his glasses. "Let's hurry though, I'm not allowed to be late."

"Sure."
