Chapter 3

William roasted the rabbit using the campfire, but it ended up getting burn from several places due to his current weakened state.

*Crunch*

He bite down on the part that was not black and started eating the rabbit.

His body shook as the urge to devour the rabbit whole came to his mind, but he suppressed it knowing that eating too much will have side effects instead.

Slowly chewing down on the food, William quickly ate his fill, picking up a water container left behind by the previous group he drank from it and finally felt revitalized.

Getting up he extinguished the fire and walked upto the small tent made by the previous group, went inside it and started resting.

He needed to rest and quickly recover his strength.

The entire place fell under a eerie silence after William entered the tent.

Just then.....

A small figure carefully made it's way towards the now extinguished fireplace.

Picking up the left rabbit using her small hands, she quickly rushed back to hide behind the huge tree.

The darkness of the night made her shiver in fright, but she suppressed her fears and started eating the rabbit in silence.

The light coming from the morning sun woke William up.

After last night's rest he felt way better, atleast now he felt that he will be able to walk normally without having to keep his upper body slanted forward all the time.

'I need to return to the dungeon city as soon as possible...'

A light flashed pass William's eyes as he exited the tent.

Looking at the dense forest surrounding him, William can conclude that he definitely was not in Orario.

'If those men from last night didn't run away then I could have have asked for directions.'

William frowned as he stared at the equipment scattered across the ground.

'But why did they all ran away without any reason?'

'It's like they saw a ghost or something...'

William wondered as he wiped his bloodied mouth.

'They might have left something useful....'

William started going through their stuff.

After some fiddling around, he took out a rough map from one of the wooden trunks.

William's eyes gleamed as he slowly opened up the map and take a look.

Though he frowned right after as the map was too crudely made, there was only a rough outline with a red mark and several yellow ones, the yellow ones seem to be following a path, William placed his finger on the last yellow mark and saw the forest around it.

'This should be my current location.'

'Then...'

Although the map was of bad quality, it had one clearly depicted picture in the middle.

'Centre of the world, Dungeon city Orario.'

His destination.

'Don't tell me that I am at the very corner of the world.....'

If the map was right then he would have to travel a huge distance to reach the dungeon city.

Using the rising sun, William managed to deduce his travel direction.

'North.'

Keeping the map inside his coat, William picked up the short sword which the man from last night dropped.

'Heavy....'

He had to use both of his hands just to barely hold the short sword straight.

It is a terrible sign.

After all a short sword is suppose to be light weight.

Using a rope he tied the short sword around his back and started making his way North.

William raised his eyebrow when he passed by the fireplace and saw that the half eaten rabbit has vanished, but insted of saying anything he kept moving like normal.

Behind him a pair of curious eyes kept staring at him.

A look of confusion was pasted on the little girl's face as she wondered why this person was walking at a snail's pace.

Seeing the weapon which belonged to the bad man on his back, she shrivelled and quickly hid behind the tree once again.
