Chapter II: Reborn as a Saiyan

Age 732

Saiyan Nursery - Noble section

Adamo had been in the Dragon Ball Multiverse for a few days now ever since his reincarnation. He had confirmed this the hard way when he had nearly choked himself to death with his own tail in his sleep.

As he struggled, a young woman with bluish purple hair came into view; she did not appear to have a tail like him. Her attire was made up of white lab coat-like dress over which she wears a black armour.

Underneath, she seemed to wear a black tight suit and finally to complete the look, a pair of white boots, and that eerily resembled those worn by space-faring aliens like the Frieza Force in the Dragon Ball manga and anime.

She had looked at him with indifference before tapping her white iPad-like device. A mechanical pair of spindly arms appeared from inside his pod and pried his tail from his neck. He tried to gasp for air but a silver-coloured, mask-like metallic device covered the lower half of his face.

As Adamo calmed down and realized that there was no immediate threat to his life, he became aware that the female scientist was not the only person present. There were other scientists surrounding his pod; two middle-aged males with black hair, to be exact.

Both also wore armour - specifically sharp yellow shoulder guards - over a white, lab coat-like robe. He did not fail to notice that one of the male scientists had a long brown monkey tail that could be seen poking out.

It was evident that they were discussing data regarding Adamo, as they kept alternating between gesturing to the tablet-like device and looking at him.

'This confirms it. I'm in the Dragon Ball Multiverse,' Adamo thought to himself. 'I recognise these scientists from the Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie, although they were minor characters who appeared only once to inform King Vegeta that Broly was most likely the Legendary Super Saiyan due to his unusually large power level, they still left an impact in my mind as I didn't know that saiyans could be anything other than space pirates and colonisers.'

Thinking of this, Adamo realised that their presence most likely meant that he was definitely a saiyan baby born before or during Broly's incubation period, placing him somewhere 10 years prior to or during Age 732. As he pondered this, he also discovered that his memories of the Dragon Ball franchise were quite detailed, almost as if he had eidetic memory.

One of the male scientists, the big chinned one, noticed that Adamo was awake and tapped a button on his device, causing the baby to start to doze off. After Adamo returned to deep sleep, the scientists continued to talk amongst themselves before dispersing to attend to other saiyan babies.

~3 years later~

Finding himself in a fictional reality without any reason wasn't the toughest part of the three years spent on Planet Vegeta for Adamo, now named Tercres.

Once he was deemed mature enough to survive the harsh gravity of Planet Vegeta, he was discharged from the Saiyan Nursery and almost immediately sent to one of the many Training and Development Units scattered across the planet. They were built from the remaining technology of the Tuffles which had been annihilated by the saiyans during the Saiyan-Tuffle War that had been ongoing for ten years and had ended two years before his birth, alongside other saiyan children from his batch.

Here, they would undergo basic training to improve their combat abilities and as well as learn the necessary galactic knowledge at the Unit. This preparation was essential for all middle and elite class saiyans before they would be deployed for their first missions to various planets across the galaxy as part of the Saiyan Division for the Frieza Force.

The current year on the Divine Calendar is 734.

He also discovered that Planet Vegeta and the entire Saiyan race had been annexed by the galactic overlord King Cold two years ago after the end of the Saiyan-Tuffle War, and then had subsequently retired a year later after handing over the reins to his youngest son, Frieza. Frieza had then commanded Saiyans to start conquering planets to sell and auction.

Although Tercres had not seen King Cold or Frieza in person, he had watched videos of their arrival on the planet. This had only exacerbated his desire to escape this doomed space rock, as it meant that there was a high probability of it being destroyed just three years from now.

However, for now, he had to finish the one-year special training that was mandatory for all elite and middle class saiyans.

Tercres contemplated this as he made his way back to the classroom after he finished relieving himself on a toilet-like contraption, which automatically flushed itself. It was previously made by the Tuffles and reverse-engineered by saiyan engineers and scientists after wiping them out in the war, once again bewildered by the fact that the toilets were so drastically different to those found back in his home reality. But who could blame him? He was only three years old.

Entering the classroom, his eyes briefly met with Totoma, the saiyan instructor in charge of his batch. Luckily, Totoma didn't address his tardiness and continued to teach the class. Feeling fortunate, Tercres made his way up and took his seat at the back row.

Normally, saiyans did not instinctively know how to fly, as stated by Toriyama that Saiyan kids do still need to be taught to fly (well at least the ones with low latent power levels), however some of them can learn without being taught.

Most children born from elite saiyans had higher power levels and are generally more talented than their middle and low class counterparts due to their parents having more powerful. And Tercres is one of the examples of that.

These children mostly have a higher influence over their ki, making them instinctually know how to fly. As he flew, he glanced over his classmates, all of whom were around the same age as him, or one year older. He recognised most of them.

"Listen up, runts! You are the elite batch of saiyan children born with higher power levels than others; some of you due to being sons and daughters of saiyan nobles with superior bloodlines and as such, you were rewarded with a special training to serve as your foundation," Instructor Totoma declared a moment after Tercres sat down.

Tercres had already met his parents, both members of King Vegeta's Royal Court. His dad, Tarro, is a ruthless and formidable high ranking advisor of King Vegeta with a power level of 6,000 who demanded strict discipline and excellence from all under his charge.

However, as a father, he maintained a stern and uncompromising attitude towards Tercres. The moment Tercres had been released from the Nursery and learnt how to speak, he already been saddled with expectations from his father to become a strong and proud saiyan warrior to serve the royal court.

His mother, similarly, was also a highborn. Lady Celera was one of Queen Eschalot's many confidants, attending to the Queen as part of her royal retinue. Like Advisor Tarro, Lady Celera was proud of her Saiyan heritage and embraced the warrior values of her people. Like his father she also wanted him to become a strong and proud saiyan warrior to serve the royal court as one of Prince Vegeta IV's team when he comes of age next year.

"You will be spending a year in this Unit for your special training before being sent to your first missions as part of the Frieza Force," his face contorted into a foul grimace as he uttered the phrase 'Frieza Force'. Fortunately, he schooled his features and reigned in his pride, before continuing with his speech.

"That includes combat training, how to use your ki effectively, how to enter as well as keep a clear mind in your Oozaru form, and a multitude of essential galactic knowledge to help you navigate through the stars. This preparation is essential before you are to be deployed for your first missions to various planets across the galaxy as combatants of the Frieza Force," Totoma continued.

"Remember, you are all saiyans; a proud warrior race. Never forget that. But first I will teach you how to fight, after all you can't call yourselves warriors of the Universe if you can't even fight! Follow me to the training grounds, and I will teach you how to be a proper saiyan."

Hearing this, Tercres suppressed the rising feelings of excitement caused by his saiyan instinct for battle, and as if in response, his tail wrapped around his waist tightened a little bit harder. He wasn't the only one who acted this way, after all they were finally going to learn how to fight!
