Chapter 11

When I found out that the RoR could manipulate time, my rudimentary occlumency couldn't stop me from literally whooping in sheer ecstasy, however it also made me realise I had to take care of the time I would be using this room because as much as I wanted to grow up soon, I didn't want to become older than my dormmates. That would be disastrous and not to mention Dumbledore would be on my ass. Sure, I had 5 times as much time as everybody else but that also meant I would age that much faster than them. Of course, all these regulations and schedule making would be a problem for future-me, right now I had no such qualms. Wiping out all these thoughts, I calmed myself from my excitement (and brooding) and decided to do this systematically. I requested the room to turn into a vast library, with every book available to be shown to me. And then I mentally commanded the books on the topics I wished to study to appear in front of me. The RoR had thoughtfully created a desk, a chair and a few parchment papers along with a quill that had a few enchantments on it, not unlike my own.

First, I focused on my occlumency, especially on increasing my intellect and efficiency in using my brain. The books quickly appeared in front of me as I utilised my book reading spell, which was a combination of a magical scanner and printer, though I don't think literally imprinting all that information onto my brain would count as 'printing'. It scanned the pages of a book, copying all the content by making a sort of gallery of photos and then 'uploading' those directly to my brain, or my Mind to be precise. With the practise I was getting in the spell, my efficiency in it's use skyrocketed and by now I could 'read' multiple books at one go. After 'reading' the entire collection of books on efficiency based occlumency, I proceeded to understand them thoroughly and contemplate on the best way to actually increase my INT/WIS stat (hah!).

After half an hour of focused concentration, I finally managed to figure out a way, which was to divide my Mind in different parts each with their dedicated function, which would take multitasking to a whole new level. And to assure that I didn't lose my overall intellect I decided to consciously send pure magic to my brain until a few bits of magic integrate themselves with it, permanently raising my stats, like I used to do when I was in the orphanage.

Wasting no time, I proceeded to do the somewhat agonising but mostly weird procedure of splitting my Mind into two (for now at least). One part was responsible for my normal life and was larger while the other smaller part processed the information I had and will have in the future, hopefully at speeds which will one day match my book reading spell. That would mean I could literally understand whole libraries in an instant, but sadly, it was a pipe dream for now. I vowed to make that a reality though.

I immediately noticed the changes. I could feel knowledge pouring in me, and filling the gaps in my own, though most of it created more gaps. I sent in a lot more magic than I would normally do to my brain and boy, was it great! I was sure no drug would ever match this feeling, I could feel my speed of understanding the books increase significantly without putting much load on me.

Taking advantage of my temporary somewhat-superhuman brain levels (I couldn't risk any permanent damage to my brain or even worse, my Mind, so I limited this increased level of brainpower to a maximum of an hour), I proceeded to read the entire library (even with my increased speed and the time dilation it would take at least a week, and that would be if I maintained this speed constantly and ignored the less desirable books like books on laws, etiquettes etc.), starting with books on spell creation.

It was interesting to see that my method of spell creation was different from the modern methods used in Hogwarts and the current Wizarding World. Currently, wizards and witches used runes and complicated arithmetic operations to devise spells, which required a whole lot of calculations and studies and thus made it a specialised occupation, however in the older times, any random magical could create a spell by simply focusing on their intent, control and most importantly the magic itself.

The older method though was a lot deadlier as sometimes the results were...disastrous. After a magical blew up a whole town, modern methods of spell making started to be used. The older method also made it hard for spells created by one magical to be used by another, as everyone had different levels of magical control and willpower, while no such problem was present in the modern method.

Nevertheless, I decided to use a combination of the two and since I was obviously better at the old method I would continue using that, though with a lot more prudence than earlier, and later modify the spells with runes and arithmancy if it was required.

By now, I was reading the books at a ridiculous speed and I didn't even notice them. My attention was fully focused on my Integrator spell, which I devised with the combination of an analysing spell (from healing magic), Expelliarmus, the Unforgivable Curses, a transplanting spell (again, from healing magic) and a scanner spell (ta-dah! It's also from healing magic).

Obviously, when I first made the prototype of the spell I didn't know any of the spells from healing magic but I knew the others (even if I couldn't cast them, I had theories) and I had a healthy dose of imagination to help me.

I had developed a theory regarding the Unforgivable Curses which was most probably true, which was that each of the curse affected a different part of a magical, to be precise, they targeted the essential parts of a human, the Mind, the Body and the Soul.

The Imperio targeted the mind, the Crucio the Body and the Avada Kedavra the soul. The Expelliarmus, I believed, actually cut the connection between a magical and his wand temporarily instead of being an elaborate modification of the summoning charm.

These theories along with the spells I believed healing magic would possess, (it would be impossible for there to not be a sort of scanning and analysing spell in the repertoire of healing magic, the transplanting one was more of a wish though) led to my creation of the Integrator, which if all went well, would be the main source of my power.

The Integrator would well...integrate.. all these spells to create a masterpiece of a spell. It would first scan and analyse the target and identify the parts of Mind, Body and Soul using information gathered from the Unforgivables that would be safe to remove without it or me dying (this comparatively less lethal version was created so that I could use it on creatures I couldn't risk killing, like Fawkes the Phoenix or Buckbeak the Hippogriff) and then using a heavily modified version of Expelliarmus to slice that part, again with the help of the Unforgivables and finally using the transplanting spell to graft it on me after using the scanning spell to identify the points of merging, and yes, with the help of the Unforgivables.

It was very convoluted and highly complicated but I believed I could make it work. I was working on modifying the spells and reading books specialised on the subjects I was working on. That is to say, I didn't stop 'reading' the other books, but I just focused more on these. I had found the scanning and analysing spells fairly easily, though the transplanting one took long enough for me to wonder whether it actually existed.

By the time I had created Integrator version 2.0, it must have been at least 6 or 7 hours, and that too because I had pushed my self-imposed restriction of one hour of brain boosting to 3 and had abandoned my other actions and concentrated totally on that singular task.

Working for so long without rest or food had exhausted me completely. However, I had randomly scanned a book which contained no information on magic but was still an important read nonetheless, that alleviated that condition.
