I shakily grasped the Holy Scabbard into my hands.

"The Holy Scabbard, Avalon, along with the Holy Sword, Excalibur, were not crafted through the efforts of men."

I take a closer look at Avalon and see strange inscriptions throughout the scabbard.

"Yes, as you have seen, it has the inscriptions of the Fay."

"The Fay?"

She nods at me, "Yes, the Fay, or as you may call them, Fairies. The Fay were an ancient race that have ceased to exist through the annals of history. They live on through their descendants, the Spirits."

I nod for her to continue,

"As you know, I am a half-spirit and we spirits are on the verge of extinction. We are not unlike humanity, but with a longer lifespan and a higher affinity for magic. This sword has been passed down through my ancestors and today I have decided to part with it here."

I can't come to a conclusion with her reasoning so I ask, "W-why?"

She gives me a weary smile and replies,

"My lifespan is coming to a close, I am only able to retain my youthful looks through magic, but unfortunately I will pass soon."

I look towards the ground as a stone presses down my heart. She gives a sigh before continuing on,

"I want to entrust this sword to you as not only my apprentice, but as my family."

I look up at her with sadness in my eyes before giving a slow but affirmative nod.

"A-after all this time, could you at least tell me your name?"

She looks down at me before giving a bright smile, "Vivian."

I walk alongside Merlin as we leave the view of the lake, I give one last look and see Vivian wave off towards me.

"You know, she's a tough lass, you don't need to worry much about her."

I look towards Merlin after the speech and he continues,

"Now, let's head off to my cabin so you can meet her."

Her?

Merlin lifts his arm unveiling his hand from out of his cloak before giving a light mummer, soon a bright blue magic circle with many complex symbols and structures activates.

The structure expands and appears below our feet before soon I feel a wave of nausea and close my eyes.

I open them once again and look out in astonishment. Teleportation!

I look over at Merlin only to see him respond with a cheeky grin,

"Impressive, aye?"

"Impressive? More like impossible for humans, how did you do it?!"

He responds with just a hearty chuckle as we resume our walk a short distance longer and arrive in front of a wooden cabin out in reclusion.

It looks like the kind of place a hermit would live out in, with all sorts of foliage and vines withering on and around the cabin.

"It's not the best place, but it has it's purpose. Privacy."

Hmm, makes sense.

We arrive in-front of the door only to hear Merlin next to me yell out, "Open up! It's me!"

Soon I hear hasty steps running out towards the door before hearing a lock being undone and a handle being jostled open.

The door opens and my eyes widen at the sight of the person standing before me.

Who's this?

"Merlin, welcome bac—who's this?"

Merlin gives a chuckle before saying, "Well, introduce yourselves."

I hold out my hand with a bright smile on my face before following with, "Nice to meet you, I am Arios Brennus."

I look at the person standing before me with long blonde hair lowering down to her back and her soft features brightened by her gorgeous emerald green eyes that contrast against my own, her petite body extends out a hand to meet my own before she replies,

"Artoria Pendragon, pleased to meet you."

Her high pitched voices pleases my ears as my mind blanks from the event that just happened before me.

Artoria.....Pendragon....
