256 Blacklight [#3]

The invasion was soon dealt with, Loki defeated and apprehended by a myterious vigilante that did not claim a name or a title for their image, so the public gave them a name- Monster. That's what they called him, Monster, a simple yet fitting nickname seeing as the way he moved and cleaned the battlefield with the Chitauri was recorded by far away helicopters, but once he left the threshold of the cameras, they couldn't get satisfactory images.

But they got the moment he dropkicked a blue humanoid in the stomach while they were falling from the Stark Tower, which is something. They also got the moment a rocket, a bomb, a nuke, was grabbed by the black-red Monster and absorbed or something similar because the beast simply took hold of the bomb with its tendrils before encompassing it and going below sea.

Never to be seen again.

In fact, Alex just completed the quest once he kicked and knocked Loki out by cutting off his oxygen supply, he just took care of the bomb to maybe get bonus rewards! He just put it on his inventory, where time stopped, and left the world. The moment he did, however, his body floated before an endless cosmus, where stars twinkled and blinked at him, glowing with lights of different collors and beauty.

[The Starforger Smiles at your performance.]

[He gifts you the skill {Star Gazing lvl 1}]

[Star Gazing lvl 1: Your eyes can follow the direction of the stars, as long as there are stars before you, you will never get lost.]

[This is a gift, something you receive that will not interfere with the rewards of your quests.]

[Rewards:

Main Quest: Stop the invasion at all costs!

Return Ticket (×1), Unique Skill Ticket (×1)

Bonus Reward:

Caused a mysterious impression in the general public, defeated Loki 'easily', defeated three of the Fantastic Four, and saved the city from an atomic bomb... Calculating reward- Reward decided:

Skill Power Up Ticket (×1): Increases the quality and general power of one skill you have, once used the ability will be upgraded to the peak of its possible reach. To go beyond, a Limit Break is necessary.]

[Tesseract (×1) and Nuke (×1) have sent back to their universe due to the lack of System Points.]

'What-' That was Alex's thoughts, but his body was being dragged down to the mortal world, leaving behind the endless cosmus, where stars beautifully existed. "Fuck!" A headache echoed inside his mind as he came to consciousness into his body, coughing and shaking his head and scratchig his skin due to the feeling of his body being full of ants crawling within his muscles- Then it simply stopped. 'Fuck...' He coughed out a blob of blood, soon he realized- It was an internal organ, an organ he was familiar with: His heart.

You see? Let me get you on a little secret between me and you- Alex's heart was failing, failing too much, he recently had a heart attack and he almost died. Now? He spit out his heart, and in it, there was this blob of black that had hair and teeth: A tumor, a nasty, nasty tumor that almost made him puke due to the disgusting appearance of such deformity within his body: "Fuck." The only logical thing to do was burn it, so he did, his arm turned into a tendril of red and black as he wrapped it around the thing and he used his skill [Heat] to cook the thing up, increasing the heat more and more and more, not letting the smoke or smell of this burning thing enter his nostrils! He opened his window and looked at the outside world with a glee before lookig down at the trash cans beaneath his apartment window, on the shady alley he saw many drug deals happen.

He simply dropped it there.

Easy peasy.

He sighed and stretched his limbs, they cracked witj vigorous biomass and he smiled- That was until a boom echoed in the distance, he saw with his own eyes as a giant humanoid raised his fists and roared with mad glee! 'Well... Not my problem.' Alex closed the binders in the window and used the [Skill Power Up] ticket and the [Unique Skill] ticket, first the [Skill Power Up] ticket was used on his [Regeneration] because he wanted to live, and Regeneration was the best skill he could have!

[Regeneration is at max level. Would you like to use it anyway?]

Why not? He can grow stronger anyway, and he doesn't have a skill he really wants to power up right now, maybe [Hungry Mind], but that one doesn't sound enticing... He could've used it with his [Unique Skill], right? But there's no guarantee it'll be a great skill, so he decided to use it right now and regret later!

[Regeneration is undergoing Evolution.]

[Regeneration became Accelerated Regeneration]

[Accelerated Regeneration became Supernatural Regeneration]

[Supernatural Regeneration became Absolute Regeneration lvl 1]

[Absolute Regeneration lvl 1: You can heal from absolutely anything- Be it physical, mental, or esoteric in nature. Being able to recover from Mind attacks, Body attacks, Soul attacks, Essence attacks, and more.]

See? Good skill! He smiled as explosions echoed in the background and an earthquake started, he simple spread out his Biomass within his apartment to steady himself, covering the walls and ceiling with his black and red coloration: "Now let's see..." Next up was the [Unique Skill] ticket that he used, and soon enough, it glowed inside his mind in a golden color before it faded into sparkles of energy that fused with his body, golden tattoos spread out and covered his torso and arms in runic symbols before it faded away:

[Unique Skill - Replication Negation

Replication Negation Lvl Max:

Active: The user can negate replication effects of any kind, from the replication of attributes, powers, skills, conditions, minds, etc. The user is even able to negate shapeshifting if the shapeshifter is in the form of an existing person.

Passive: No abilities from the user can be copied or replicated.]

"Useful." Alex hummed, feeling the desire to eat bread- This was but his Victorian Orphan instinct and the desire to relax after a mission completed. Of course, the world had other desires...

*BOOM!*

Just beneath his apertment, on the shady alleyway right to the right, an explosion echoed and almost brought down the foundation of his apartment and made his reinforced Biomass room shake: "Urgh... Fucking people-" He opened the window that looked down the alley, where he saw a lot of dust rising from it! He sighed slightly before pulling back the Biomass from his surrounding into his body again: "Now... Sho the fuck is doing this shit?" He jumped down without hesitation, not caring about the height seeing as his body was strong enough to resist even worse damage, and even if he was damaged, his body would heal.

-Scene Cut-

The world was chaos.

Suddenly, all the people that vanished from the face of the earth on the same day, returned. The theories of it being a divine move, or alien abduction were cut off when they returned, instead it was believed they were dragged to another worlds because they returned with power! They didn't all return at the same time, some didn't even return at all, but those who did were different from the rest of humanity.

They were called by the public the 'Evolved', and even the 'Awakened' or the 'Superior', but the government decided to call them Vanished and Apparition, Vanish were the ones who haven't come back yet and Apparitions were the ones who did- It was clear that those who did come back were better and stronger than many, some even going as far as to declare themselves Royalty among peasants, Gods among mortals.

They themselves had a ranking system, given by a system on their heads that told them what and who they were, once an Apparition meets another Apparition, they will instantly know each other's ranking in power unless the difference between their power was too much. This has been going for over a month now, the chaos is still ongoing with the powered individuals most of the times just going rampant on revenge or greed, some turned to the side of good while others simply didn't care because their next quest was coming. How did they know? Well, the system would tell them what their next quest would be, or rather, which kind of quest they'd have to do- There's six categories that have been discovered

Elimination Quest

Salvation Questio

Plot Preventing Quest

Plot Defying Quest

Genesis Quest

Apocalypse Quest.

The easiest one is the Elimination Quest which is self explanatory, which is simple as this: You kill your target, your quest is done. Salvation is the exact opposite, you save your target, you complete the quest, simple as that. Normally they don't interfere, but the next two are normally done by more than one Apparition, or Player, or Awakened- there isn't an offical name for them yet. Plot Defying and Plot Preventing Quests are intertwining because those who receive a Plot Defying quest will go to a world where they need to destroy the plot, while others that go to the same world will need to prevent the plot and keep it going! It doesn't need to be 100% the same, as long as the same events happen then it doesn't matter who went through what to complete it. Normally if you defy three points or defend three points, you win! There are rules to these types of questsz of course, and although they aren't regularly the same, they are somewhat similar from quest to quest.

There were soon some learned facts- The longer one took to return to the world, the more powerful one is! The reason why this is particularly true is theorized to be like this: The body needs to adapt to the power received from the quest, the stronger the power one has, the longer needed flr the body to adapt, which is why once one completes a quest their bodies undergo an upgrade that can take time when they are coming back. For the Apparition, they didn't spend that much time, but for the Original World, they spent a lot of time.

Genesis Quests are quests to start something, an organization, a rebellion, a party, the specifics are in the quest itself. Apocalypse Quests are the opposite, from finishing or destroying an empire to just crashing a party, as long as it is about destroying or ending something, it probably is an Apocalypse Quest- The quest itself will say what it is.

But after a mont of this chaos, a small sliver of peace and order was starting, but not everyone wanted this. Avarice, the organization recently built by an underworld boss of a previously really powerful organized mafia-esque crime syndicate that mainly dealt with drugs, kidnapping, organ trafficking, and smuggling that fell thanks to the work of the CIA... And now? Now society was different! Power was at the tip of people's fingertips, money was still useful seeing as greed still existed, some people even used the money to convert it to system points which is something many started doing once the knowledge was spread on the internet by someone!

Evan was a ordinary, powerless human kid, who was not chosen by the system to take quests to other worlds- But don't think he was an ordinary fourteen year old boy, no, he was the son of Avery, leader of Averice, the first guild. Evan had bodyguards, two to be precise, Helena and Andre, siblings who both received quests and returned almost at the same time from different worlds, worlds where they both learned new things and even brought different items with themselves! Helena had the powerful ability to transform her body into liquid metal from a fruit she ate from the world she came from, she could shape her limbs into weapons and even change its color, size, and sharpness! Her brother, however, received a more strange ability:

He could use a stick, or wand as he called it, to cast spells. Spells he knew from the system, sadly he didn't know many of them because he cleared his quest too quickly and couldn't hoard as many books as he wanted to, only a book about potions he didn't have ingredients for and a book about basic spells that couldn't do much. However, together they worked in tandem and harmony, able to fight stronger opponents easily! They returned to the world after a week from their vanishment, which was only lower to their boss, who spent two weeks before coming back. Evan, Avery's son, asked his dad if he could go to an arcade within the Averice territory which ended up being accepted by his father who sent both Helena and Andre to protect his beloved son..

Little did they know that a group of 8 individuals with different weak powers were waiting for them, the leader of their group had the ability to put suggestions on someone's mind, making them think what he wants them to think without actually forcefully making them think about, a weaker and subtle form of mind manipulation that worked well for them- That is how they will complete their plan.

Take over Averice!
