Chapter 12 - A Strange Beginning at Yueei

(Nero POV)

In the spring, classes started at Yuuei. After waking up in bed with Ochaco naked, which had become a common occurrence since we lost our virginity, we prepared for our day.

We were staying in a house in Musutafu. After waking up, we took a few minutes to shower, change, and have breakfast.

As we were about to leave, Roberta said: "Have a good day, young Master Nero and young Miss Ochaco."

"We will," Ochaco said with an excited smile.

"See you later, Roberta," I said, walking out the door for our first day of school.

•••

The two of us walked down Yuuei's white hallway with blue accents, holding hands.

My relationship with Ochaco became something akin to that of a boyfriend; although we never officially labeled it, we both understood the nature of our relationship.

"So this is Yuuei," Ochaco said beside me, surprised.

"I have to admit, it is quite beautiful."

"Well, we have to find 1-A," Ochaco said, looking around cutely for our class.

"Let's keep going."

Ochaco, Gwen, and I were assigned to class 1-A.

Since only 40 students managed to enter the Heroism Department, they were divided into two classes: 1-A and 1-B.

As I was thinking about this, I suddenly felt someone jump on my back.

"I thought I would be the only one late." The owner of the voice said, pressing her breasts against my back.

"Have you ever thought about just saying hi, Gwen?" Ochaco asked, turning to look at the mysterious girl.

"Maybe, but it seems so boring and simple," Gwen replied, reluctantly moving away from me and standing on my right side.

Gwen wore Yuuei's uniform, which consisted of a long-sleeved white shirt with buttons, a gray jacket with blue-green stripes, and a red tie, paired with a dark greenish-blue pleated skirt and a small gold button on the tie.

"Oh! The uniform looks really good on you." I said, putting my hand on my chin as if I were analyzing, only to receive an elbow from Ochaco.

"Thanks; you don't look bad in that uniform either." Gwen pointed at me, holding back her laughter at the blow I received from Ochaco.

"T-thank you," I said with a slight twinge of pain in my waist, thanks to a certain someone who also had a smile on her lips.

"By the way, you two are really perverted to be holding hands at this hour," Gwen said with a playful smile, her blue eyes staring at Ochaco, who gave her a victorious grin.

"I think a couple has this 'perverted' right." Her proud smile was not hidden at all.

"Yes, they do." Gwen put her hands on her head, smiling mysteriously.

Ochaco raised an eyebrow, looking suspicious.

Right now, I did the wisest thing, which was to remain silent.

However, my silence was short-lived, as we arrived in front of class 1-A.

"Wow! That door is incredibly big." Gwen exclaimed, looking up.

"Big is an understatement." Ochaco let go of my hand, crossing her arms over her chest as she also looked at the door.

In front of us was a door measuring about four meters tall and quite wide, with "1-A" written on it.

"Well, the door should be big to make it easier for people with... large bodies to enter without any problems."

"Good word placement," Gwen said, lowering her arms and pointing her fingers at me.

"I humbly thank you for the compliment." I moved my hand to open the door to class 1-A, only to see two people arguing.

"Don't put your legs on the table! Don't you think this is disrespectful to your classmates?" The same boy with glasses from the Yuuei entrance exam was speaking to a blonde boy who had his feet up on the table.

This young man with his feet on the table was of medium height, thin, muscular, and fair-skinned. He had short, spiky blonde hair with choppy bangs that fell over his eyebrows. His eyes were sharp and bright red in color. He had an expression that was not friendly.

"No, really, I don't think so. By the way, where did you come from, secondary character?" the blonde boy shouted.

"That's a good case of main character syndrome." Gwen, who loves to make fun regardless of the situation, said loudly.

"Oh! What did you say, shitty secondary?" he said, getting up and walking towards us with his hands in his pockets.

"Oops!" Gwen said, stroking her head playfully and hiding behind me.

"Seriously?!" I said with a dry smile.

"You're a man, and I'm a woman. I'm using my rights as a woman now," Gwen said, wrapping her arms around my neck as she hid behind me.

Gwen clearly wasn't scared. In fact, she was just having fun with the situation.

I just let out a sigh.

"And who are you, you piece of shit?" The blonde boy stopped in front of me, giving me a death glare.

"Nobody important," I said with a smile.

"Hmph! Of course, you're not important. No one is important compared to me, Katsuki Bakugo."

Katsuki pointed his finger at himself, giving the most confident smile I've ever seen in my life.

"…"

Gwen was trying her best not to laugh at this boy.

"You really have protagonist syndrome." I couldn't help but say.

"…"

"You little shit." Katsuki snarled, raising his hand to grab my collar.

His hand stopped in mid-air before reaching me, thanks to [Infinity].

"Is there a problem, friend?"

Upon hearing my words, he tried to push his hand forward, but it remained motionless in the air.

"What are you doing?" Katsuki shouted, raising his other hand.

"Just a little party trick." I noticed that all eyes in the class were on us.

Meanwhile, Gwen whispered in my ear, "What a bad boy, using [Infinity] in this situation."

"Who do you think is to blame?" I exclaimed as Ochaco sighed.

"Maybe a certain beautiful girl with a good sense of humor!?"

I rolled my eyes at her response.

"I will destroy you." Katsuki pulled his hand back, and small explosions started to form in his palm.

This was definitely heading toward a mess.

But before it could escalate, a surprised voice echoed through the classroom.

"Kacchan!"

Our eyes turned to see a boy with green hair and matching eyes standing at the door with a surprised expression on his face.

Oh! This boy, isn't he Izuku Midoriya?

I remembered seeing a green-haired boy at the entrance exam.

"Tsk! Deku." Katsuki clicked his tongue at the green-haired boy and shoved his hands into his pockets, glaring menacingly at Izuku.

"Wow! I'm sensing romantic tension between these two." Gwen, being Gwen, said from behind me.

"Go fuck yourself," Katsuki shouted, turning his anger on us again.

"Honestly, can't you go a single second without getting into trouble?" I exclaimed, putting my hand on my face. It was clear there was some history between Katsuki and Midoriya.

"Oh! That's my charm," she laughed lightly.

Rolling my eyes at her, I turned to the green-haired boy.

"It's been a while... Midoriya, right?" I said politely.

"Do you remember me, Fujiwara-san?" he exclaimed in surprise.

"Of course. It's hard to forget a boy who almost fell to the ground during the entrance exam."

Katsuki, realizing that he was being ignored because of Midoriya, became even angrier. Just as he was about to make a move, a tired voice came from the door.

"That's why I think young people are boring."

Everyone's gaze shifted to the door to see a guy lying on the floor in a sleeping bag.

"…"

Yuuei is really peculiar.

"Now stop clowning around; after all, this is the Department of Heroes." He said, crawling into the classroom like a gecko.

All the students' eyes turned to the strange adult. He stood up in front of the blackboard and took off his sleeping bag, fully revealing his appearance.

He was a slender, tall, fair-skinned man with messy, shoulder-length black hair that partially fell in front of his face and half-closed black eyes. He had a tired and worn look, giving off a desperate vibe. This sense of despair was only heightened by his unkempt facial hair and his tired, empty eyes.

He wore a loose black outfit consisting of a long-sleeved shirt and matching pants tucked into his boots. He also had a utility belt and a scarf around his neck.

"Um! It took you all 8 seconds to calm down," he said without any expression on his face, looking at us with a deadpan stare.

"Life is short, children. All of you are lacking common sense," he said, holding the sleeping bag with one hand.

Wait, that's our teacher? No matter how I look at him, he doesn't seem to fit the profile of a teacher.

However, he exudes an aura of strength. Despite his appearance, his body seems ready to enter combat at any moment.

"He must be a pro hero too, right?" Midoriya exclaimed softly next to us.

"Even if it doesn't seem like it, I wouldn't doubt it," I replied, looking at the strange man standing in front of the class.

"I am the teacher of this class, Aizawa Shouta. Nice to meet you." Aizawa said without showing any emotion in his voice.

He really is our teacher, but I've never heard that name in the pro-hero world.

Without a care, he lifted the sleeping bag and took out a blue uniform.

"All of you, put this on right away." Aizawa held up a dark blue short-sleeved shirt with white lines.

"And go to the physical education area," he instructed, throwing the uniform at Midoriya as he grabbed the sleeping bag.

From the looks of it, he had a bag with several gym uniforms inside.

A strange teacher for a strange school, I would say.

I thought with a smile, as my first day at Yuuei started strangely.

••• ••• •••

(Aizawa's POV)

We were in the physical education area.

"A Quirks Test!!!" the students screamed in surprise at my words.

What's the point of shouting?

This is just a test of quirks.

"And the ceremony? What about counselor guidance?" Uraraka exclaimed alongside Fujiwara.

I raised my finger, pointing at her.

"If you want to become heroes, we don't have time to play school, so forget about these useless niceties," my voice came out dark.

"...?!"

Uraraka was silent.

"Remember, we Yuuei teachers have the same freedom as you students. We decide what will be better and what will be worse for all of you.

Softball pitch, long jump, 50 meters, marathon running, strength test, sustained jumps, upper body exercises.

These are all activities you know from your previous schools, naturally. In these common physical tests, you were all prevented from using your quirks.

The country continues to be unable to standardize these records to maintain average levels of performance.

Well, consider it negligence from our stupid government." I scratched my face while the students' expressions were astonished.

Not everyone was surprised by my words; some had neutral expressions, others were smiling, and one even had a stoic look on his face.

There are good students among them.

I thought, turning my gaze to Bakugou.

"Bakugou, what was your normal softball pitching record in high school?"

He raised his eyebrow but calmly replied.

"67 meters."

Pretty average.

I thought, taking a softball out of my pocket and throwing it towards him.

"Now, test using your quirk this time, but don't leave the circle."

Bakugou raised his hand, taking the softball without stepping out of the circle.

"By the way, don't hold back," I said without much emotion.

Bakugou, with the softball in his hand, flexed his arm back and then threw it with all his might.

"Die!" he screamed as his hand generated a large explosion.

The softball was launched into the air, cutting through the sky.

Some students looked impressed, but Fujiwara just let out a slight yawn.

I picked up the device that measured the distance and, seeing how far the ball traveled, thought:

A little better, but still average.

With that thought, I turned the device around and showed it to them.

"Wow! 705 meters, unbelievable!" one of the students exclaimed.

"We can actually use our quirks, so this test will be easy."

"Amazing, it looks like a lot of fun."

Hearing the students' voices, I couldn't help but feel angry.

"So you all think this is fun!? Is this what you planned on spending 3 years here doing? Just having fun, making friends, or maybe getting along!? What happened to the new heroes?

Alright, then. A new rule: the student who obtains the lowest score will be judged 'desperate' and will be eliminated." I said with a dark look at the students as I ran my hand through my hair, brushing it out of my face.

"Our freedom gives us the right to expel any student we want.

Welcome to the hero department." I exclaimed with a dark smile.

I'm strongly considering giving Nero the Six Eyes. The best part is that there is room in the story for Nero to develop them. If you have enjoyed reading this, toss me a stone!
