Experiments

The meeting with the headmaster went well, he was excited to have his students learn from elves, even he seemed to wanna join their classes. He lost a few students during the war, but fortunately, he didn't blame us.

I left the elves with some items to boost their stats, just in case. Just some accessories that won't show much, like bracelets, rings, and necklaces.

I have faith that the elves will do well in the academy, they are after all grinding their teacher skill, that requires a lot of teaching. Speaking of faith, I've been thinking of other gods in this world and I've never sensed a god or deity within this world. So either they have ways to hide their presence or they don't exist.

It might also be a possibility that humans have seen an elemental spirit and assumed that to be a god. Elemental Spirits are very strong creatures within their element, they very rarely attack other beings, as just the mana in the air is enough to feed them. If a light element were to be seen, I can understand many people thinking of it as a god. But for now, I'm going to go forward thinking they exist outside of this realm and are very strong, hopefully, we never have to worry about them.

I'm on my way back to Yggdrasil and as soon as I'm outside of the empire's land I will start experimenting with other elements. I don't want accidentally destroy something if I can, in fact, use other elements, but can't control it well enough.

I'm currently standing on a beach, the south of my domain. The elves have fortified this area, as many humans in the past tried to get in this way. But I'm not here for that, I'm here because I tried experimenting with water magic.

The fast ocean in front of me was what I tried to experiment on, in the game, players could control the seas to a certain extent and I tried to do a Moses move and make a pathway in the ocean. I hade very low hopes I could do anything of the kind, but it was almost too easy, it's was like the ocean itself was alive and more than happy to help me.

Now that I think about it, Nature in the game was mostly just trees, leaves, grass, and certain creatures. But in reality, nature is everything. Even lightning is in the nature of the world. I even tried, I summoned freaking lightning in the ocean. I made clouds and rain appear, I made a massive shark come close to the shore and let me pet it. The shark was probably what we humans would call a megalodon, it was around 14 meters long and I don't even wanna guess its weight.

I made a sandcastle in the sand with earth magic, which confirmed that as well. I also tried fire magic, I could summon flames from my hand just like any fire mage, and I made a mini volcano in the sand, so that confirmed I can also make magma, which is in essence, just liquid stone. But it required both earth and fire magic to be combined.

I tried every element I could expect for Death. Thinking back to my experience in the war, I think I'm way too emotional when it comes to death, so using death magic might be bad for me. I won't rule it out entirely, but death in the game was reserved for the undead and was overall evil magic. As a being of nature, I'm on the "good" side, and using evil might somehow "taint" me. At least that's what I'm afraid of.

Water, Fire, Air, and Earth are fundamental elements, Ice, Blue fire, Lightning and Metal are an upgrades tier of elements, you must have water magic to use Ice magic, and you must have Earth magic, to use metal magic, and so on.

Then there are the rare elements. Light, Death, Nature, and Spirit. There is no upgrade to these, and they are impossible to combine. You can't combine Nature and Light and a mage spell with, but you can combine fire and earth, you can even combine a low their with a high their. Lightning combined with ice works.

I could use Light magic, It actually took over an hour to use, because I had no idea how it works or how the feeling of light is. Every different element has a unique feeling to it when using, fire feels hot, obviously, the water feels not cold, but... liquid? Hard to explain, but every element feels differently. Seb, who is always beside me told me that they had half-elves in the domain that had light magic, so I visited them and had them use light magic on me, after that, it was easy to replicate that feeling.

Spirit, which is support to be the opposite of nature, was easier than I though. When I say the opposite, in the game Light and Death, were opposites, meaning they would deal extra damage versus eath other, same with nature and spirit. I'm supposed to be weak against spirit magic, but in this world spirit is also apart of nature, meaning a part of me.

With every element out of the way, except for Death, I don't wanna meddle with that now, I tried something entirely new. Something I had not done since the creation of the elves, which I made with the help of the system. I was going to create life. But first I needed to figure out what kind of lifeform I wanted to make. According to King Gerald, there are many kinds of monsters in the world and there is an adventurers guild in almost every country that subjugates monsters for rewards.

There are plenty of monsters in my domain, but the nature of my domain is good and monsters in here kind adapt to their surroundings, so any monster that is birthed in my domain will have a good nature, meaning no senseless killing, only for food. Sure they might attack elves some times, but only when they are hungry and have not found any other meal.

So I used what I knew from one of the monsters that even a farmer could slay without any issue, a slime. A typical fantasy monster in my opinion, and when given the chance, I would gladly see.

Every monster has a core in its body, and slimes are so small that their entire body is a core, which is why they are so easy to slay. If a wolf has the core in its tail, then just cutting the tail off will kill it, not that it has its core there, most cores are in the brain of creatures. I had a slime core that I got from the adventurers guild when I visited for information and started experimenting with it. My powers have a way to identify almost anything.

I can put my powers in the earth and I will know exactly what is down there, I could use it to prospect for metal, I can use it to feel the weather, knowing when a storm is coming, and more. So I used my power on the core and as expected, I got all the information I needed, how the core was formed. So now I had the information on how to create a slime, but why would I stop here?

I start with forming a core, but I fill it up with my nature magic and form it using mostly nature magic. The first 21 attempts failed, I used too much nature magic, the cores are too small and vulnerable. Then I got the idea to use Metal Magic to reinforce the core, and then infuse it with Nature magic and it actually worked. The slime slowly formed in my hand, it took only 10 minutes for it to fully form and come to life. I had created life, a new life form, a new type of slime!

Feeling the slime with my powers I got a bit excited. I think I created a strong slime. The reinforced core is very hard. It's stronger even steel! That combined with the nature magic I infused since the god of nature himself infused his own nature magic in it, this little slime can probably rival the elves in nature magic! Haha, this is awesome! I think I found a new hobby, creating life. Somehow it just feels right, like I was meant to do this!

The slime looked around itself, it had no eyes, but could somehow feel the surroundings. It was curious about the world around it. It moved and instantly felt the power of gravity as it fell from where it was and landed on... sand? Why did the slime know it landed on the sand, and what sand even was? The curious slime rolled around the sand in curiosity before it could feel a connection underneath it, so the slime tried using that connection.

A wooden fine came out and wrapped itself around the slime and hugged it, the slime liked this feeling.

"How are you feeling, little one?" The slime heard a voice in its core. Little one, is that me? What was this beautiful voice it heard? Trying to sense the voice around it, the slime felt the warmest and most comfortable feeling so far, not far away from it. It used the vine to get closer to the feeling and the warm feeling suddenly came closer and surrounded the curious little slime.

"Hello, little one. Aren't you a curious one?" The beautiful voice said again. Is this warm feeling the voice? It remembered this feeling, it was the same warm feeling it felt when it was birthed. Is this warm feeling its creator?

Somehow the slime knew it was not birthed, but created and it managed to figure out that the warm feeling surrounding it was its creator.

"What a cute little thing, do you want to stay with me or go explore the wild?" I asked the slime, it vibrated slightly and pushed its body harder into my hands.

"If you want to stay with me, then maybe a name is in order, hmm. How about Sandy, seeing as the first thing you felt in this world was sand?" It vibrated slightly, somehow I could tell it was okay with any name I gave it.

"Well then, Sandy, let's give you the ability to see!" I said as I put a skill book in front of it. It was [Eagle Eye] skill, it was a passive that increased the sight of the user, somehow I knew that the slime would be able to see very well with this skill.

The slime absorbed the book and shone for a second before I could feel its gaze on me.

"Hello again, nice to meet you, Sandy," I say and give it a warm smile, it vibrated and tried to hide its face in my hands, not that it had any face.

What a cute little thing. What should I make next?

"My king, we are ready to start matching for the empire, it's time to reclaim stolen land!" A noble said as he kneeled before his king.

"Indeed, start the march! Today we show these fools what happens when you steal from The Sureal Kingdom!" The king shouted as he stood up and the nobles cheered!

The nobles were sitting without the king, speaking with each other.

"Haha, that king of ours is almost too easy to manipulate!" Noble nr1 said.

"Indeed, it's good that he got the throne when he was so young, the younger they are, the easier they are to manipulate! Haha!" Noble nr2 said.

"I wonder what the empire will do about this invasion, no doubt they have the strength to fight our invasion." Noble nr3 said.

"No doubt, we will lose this war without a doubt! HAHA!" Noble nr1 said, and the rest of the nobles laughed.

"It's good that we got the king to lead them, hopefully, he dies quickly." Noble nr 4 said.

"Yeah, if not, we can just have his guards do it for us, and blame it on the empire." Noble nr 2 answered. The nobles all laughed at the stupidity of their young king.

"Have you heard that the god of the elves has descended and been roaming around, apparently the elves and the Kremore Kingdom got themselves an official alliance now." Noble nr 4 said, changing the subject.

"Yeah, are we sure this creature is a god?" Noble nr 3 asked.

"Let's just send some assassins to kill it. If they fail, we'll know it at least have some power, if they succeed, then good for us, haha!" Noble nr1 said as he took a sip from his wine.

"All in favor of sending out a squad of assassins?" Noble nr4 asked.

"Aye!" All 6 nobles answered.

The nobles got to business. They were in charge of the top assassins in the continent and were very confident they would succeed.
