4 A welcome

It was at times like these that Heylel wondered how much had her new biology affected her, probably more than she thought because right now she was much too invested in this brown bundle of fluffiness—a teddy bear—than she should be.

"Girl likes teddy bears a lot doesn't she?" Tim muttered as he looked at the red-eyed girl who was hugging the doll to her chest while interacting with them.

"So you like the gift?" Barbara asked, her wheelchair just next to Heylel as she caressed her head, giggling at the flustered girl, who was in an internal struggle between letting go of such a soft and comfortable thing and the unbearable eyes that she was getting!

Still, pushing past it all she nodded, even Damian let out a small smile looking at the girl who was talking about strippers and prostitutes saving her from a life of crime now desperate to get away from Barbara.

"Alright," He pushed himself off the sofa and pulled a Saturn-black box with him, walking over he kneeled in front of the little girl.

"Come on, open it up," He said as he held the box from below.

Heylel's eyes alternated between the box and the boy, 'It can't be bad,' she thought with a little anticipation blooming inside her. Even the rest were slightly curious as to what they would find in that thing.

As Heylel pulled off the lid Damian could swear he saw her eyes sparkle, the happiness with which she instantly forgot about the teddy and pulled up the gift was uncanny. Even to him.

In her hands now was a rapier of a golden pommel, a deep red and black coiling handle, black sweeping, black knuckle and hand guards, with a long satin black blade with a ruby red fuller that terminated just before the point.

Barbara was momentary stunned before her hands moved quickly, snatching the blade from the girl, "Damian! What are you doing!?"

"It's her gift," He shrugged, and Heylel looked towards Barbara and nodded, "Give it back."

"What? No way! This is a deadly weapon—"

"I have used knives before!" Heylel retorted.

"Those are knives this is a sword," Barbara denied.

"It's a rapier, not the same thing," Heylel locked her eyes with Barbara's.

"You know?" It was Damian who asked Heylel, who tilted her head and said, "Of course, who doesn't."

"This seems like an interesting conversation," Bruce said as he entered the hall, following behind was Tim who had run out to get him when he saw the sword.

"Father, I was just giving Mira a gift," Heylel nodded and pointed at the lady in the wheelchair, "She took it."

"A rapier? How about this?" He said as he took the thing from Barbara, "I will give it to you, but you have to train with it to mastery?" He said offering the sword to her.

"So she will be joining that too?" Barbara muttered as she shook her head as gave a pointed glare to Bruce, 'That world isn't for children.'

"Not now," He said as his eyes wandered over to the girl, "No more mistakes."

Barbara saw the look in his eyes, and quietened down, he was not one to repeat his mistakes.

Heylel looked at the two in mock confusion, she knew what they were talking about, but she was not one to interject in a conversation she should have no idea about.

Seeing that she won't be convincing Bruce not to let a kid hold a freaking sword—Damian aside—she switched her target, "Well, Mira, why do you want this sword?"

Heylel's body shifted, from the excited nature of a cat to a wolf out for revenge, "To kill that man," her voice was deathly cold, narrowed eyes, and clenched fists.

Before anyone could say anything, he scoped her up, "You will decide the day you meet him."

He said that, though he knew where that path led, he almost went there—but he was confident, with him training her, she would learn, just like he himself had, just like Jason had, and just like Damian had.

[A/N: Remember, Bruce was fully intent on killing his parent's murderer in Batman Begins, only stopped by chance.

Jason was fully an antihero in Under the Red hood.

And Damian was raised to be a very efficient killer.

Our MC... I won't spoil much but you know in the synopsis...yeah and that killing was in no way out of love for others. Just herself.

Moreover, we have ended the extended prologue to this story, now we will pick up the pace a little. And how has it been so far? I am a terrible writer and I am genuinely blown away by the support for this fanfic.

I wanna do so much with it, next on the agenda is to delve into the superhero life of the Bat Family and her training.

As for the superpower, there have been many good suggestions but they won't be coming up for a bit, so here's to hoping my stupid ideas are liked.

1. Necromancer: Simple, just think about how much everybody will not like it in the universe. And she won't even be able to use it cuz she is now Batman's daughter, and he sure as shit won't be having her raise the dead and creating flesh golems and summoning skeleton dragons.

2. Technopath: Now why a technopath? Simple, what do you think about a Starcraft 2 army fighting a war in Apokolips? Cool right? And being able to interface with tech she will become a very lethal and dangerous opponent. Though ngl, she won't be too OP cuz Superman can just...ignore it all and punch straight through. Martian Manhunter can just phase through it all etc, etc.

3. Reaper: Every kill makes you stronger and sharper. But this involves sucking souls, so this will piss off the entire Magical Hero community and severely piss off Lucifer.

4. Swarm Queen: Able to create bio constructs, and fight with insectoid armies.

5. Parasite: A very simple path where she will leach off others. For example sleeper cells growing in hosts that after a long time can instant kill an opponent.

6. Decay Bloom: The same one from Elden Ring(Malenia's Scarlet rot) with a few changes i.e "decay" builds up her rot meter and by the end, she can go through a bloom, after three blooms she becomes the rot goddess

7. Attuned to Death: Her meta power is to adapt/evolve to an attribute and state around her and when she one day wakes up surrounded by death and disaster, her body becomes attuned to death and so her body now grows stronger every time she is surrounded by a similar scale of death.

How this is different from (3) is very simple, no souls are required, hence no magic community problems but superheroes will keep a close eye to make sure she doesn't become a butcher and the power jumps will be high with some new abilities too.

8. Or we can go with a system of evolution(like those evolution novels) without all the stats and shit and just the race change stuff, each getting progressively stronger. Also, she might be able to unbend herself by this method. Rember this is a very risky path but one with unlimited potential.

Also, don't worry about the explanation as to why she got them through a meta gene, I will take care of that.

Please vote on your preferred option, when we reach the chapter where she is forced to waken her power I will count it all up and we will go with it.

Till next time, bye!]
