Arc 1.0 - What a "shitty" start

A young man jolted awake with heavy breathing, he sat up carefully as he felt pain at his head. He looked around to see a studio apartment, although barely furnished.

Alastair Kingston is the main character of which is designated to suffer from the loss of his loved ones. Losing his family in the beginning and losing his beloved best friend year later.

The female lead, Lilian Reynolds, ends up falling for Alastair and trys to gain his attention be copy his best friend's personality.""\\

//""Progressed, It finished with everyone dying within a year after the outbreak. So not much of an happy ending. Though, all host is doing is gaining the resentment of Drayden Verona, the person host is.""\\

The man nodded his head, /"So i am Drayden?" What is his regret?"\

//"Drayden Verona had regretted not telling his best friend his true emotions towards him, however, he still wanted to be with him regardless as Alastair was the only person he knew.

Though his truest resentment was a deep hatred towards Lilian, not really sure as to why, but he just didn't want her around Alastair. Drayden died a year later during an outbreak of Zypharaxian's coming into the shelter.""\\

Drayden grinned as he immediately knew what to do, he is quite familiar with this. A screen appeared showing the mission.

Drayden suddenly heard the door open, he looked to the door as he was facing it. A young man the screamed, 'I am the male lead', entered the room exhausted.

//""Host, your currently one year into the apocalypse. You had a concussion after one of the Zypharaxian swinged you to a wall.""\\

/"Alright, I'll pretend to not remember after that."\

Drayden had received the memories in a split second before speaking, "Al.. is that you?" A raspy but calm voice called questioned.

Alastair shot his head up from the ground, seeing his best friend sitting up. He smiled widely before running over and gently hugging the man. "It's been 4 months! I thought you'd never wake up!" He teared as suddenly mentioned.

"4 months? Seriously?" Drayden patted the man's head before stroking it. "What happened during that time?"

"Ah, a group of survivors found us. We're currently at the shelter near the city, they made it with 4,000 other survivors. I managed to get this place for us instead of the place were survivors are sharing." Alastair explained.

"How many were there?"

"About 3,200+. Only 700+ people managed to get their own places by helping out. The first 20 already had their own, and their the ones who run this place." Alastair looked up to Drayden, just seeing the face of his best friend filled his heart.

"So hierarchy? Maybe it would be easy to create our own." Drayden suddenly said.

"Shelter? But we would need-" Alastair was cut off.

"Encampment. If you made a team or something similar, we can leave and creat a small but functional place where it'll be more like a home." Drayden smiled softly.

Alastair was surprised before thinking about it. "Makes sense. I do have a team of 10 other people, as well as made some connections with the pregnant women... but how would we move? There is no electricity."

"EMP?" Drayden looked off.

//""One of his team members has electricity abilities, due to the energy source of the world, people have started to gain abilities. Though 2% has been discovered here, his team has yet to discover. Drayden also has healing abilities in ice form.""\\

"Have magic started to exist?" He suddenly asked.

"Hm? Yeah, surprisingly. Why?" Alastair asked.

"Maybe try and see if your team can gain some related to electricity. Than that would help, of course, best to keep it secret from the people running this place." Drayden smiled.

Alastair smiled back, "Great idea! Then we dont have to worry about the Zypharaxian's and create our own defense."

Drayden stroked Alastair's hair again in a petting way. "They aren't expecting me to do anything... right?"

"Not really, they see you as useless. But your not to me! I have collected food as they started to do a communal thing. 50/50 between you and the shelter." Alastair responded still holding the man before him.

"I see, can you make me something easy to eat? Im quite hungry, and thirsty as well." Drayden asked apologeticly.

"Of course!" Alastair got up, although tired, he didn't care as Drayden requested it. He headed over to the kitchen area, and make quick oatmeal as that would be digestable.

He returned 5 minutes later with a bowl of oatmeal and a cup of water. He began to feed Drayden.

Drayden on the other hand was surprised before liking this pampered feeling. 'Well shit, if he continues down this path, i wont help myself.' He thought.

//""Your estimated time to leave would be 3 months, a month after Lilian comes. Making sure you got all the required stuff is important after all. Food source, Water source, Shelter, electricity, and other amenities needed.""\\

Alastair finished feeding Drayden, cleaning the dishes before hoping into the shower. He came out wearing a unzipped pants.

Drayden stared before looking away. 'I am an old man. I am an old man.'

'I am an young adult.' His thought process changed. Vivi laughed at her hosts change.

Alastair finished drying up and went to sleep on the floor, before a certain male pulled into the bed.

"No, sleep with me. It's cold." Drayden whined.

Alastair was surprised before chuckling at the response. He cuddled up to his friend who cuddled back. Drayden was indeed on the coldside as Alastair was on the hotside.

Next early morning, Alastair woke up first, changing into his clothes. He kissed Drayden on the lips before leaving the room.

Drayden woke up shortly after hearing the door close and the walking was far away. "Vivi, more details."

A sea bunny in a water bubble came float down. ""All host has to do is whatever host thinks would change the outcome. As the protagonist savior system, all host needs to do is keep Alastair alive until the very end.""

"Hm. So just go with the flow but also create opportunities that would change the storyline to have a better ending. While also gaining the resentment."

""Correct, so host is free to do whatever! Host can also date or even marry the protagonist, it doesn't have to be the female lead. Though, you'd need to gain her halo as the lead.""

"How would I do that?"

""Just by taking her opportunities toward the male lead before you guys leave. So you have one month to gain her major opportunity, that is healing. Hers is more on the holy side, yours is on the ice.""

Drayden thinks carefully. "Ice is also water, once i develop it i can make new adjustments that can become holy ice and holy water."

Vivi nodded her head. ""Also host, majority of the worlds you enter will start at the beginning or in the middle. Sometimes at the end and gets rewind to before the major problem.""

"Ah, I'm currently in the middle right?" He asked as the bunny nodded its head.

Drayden got up, taking a health pill to restore the injuries better. He walked over to the kitchen and made an easy meal, eating it and washing the dishes.

He went over to the bathroom and saw himself. Shoulder length dirty blonde hair, crimson red eyes and a skinny body. 'I'll need to fatten myself up naturally.'

Without the skin and bones part, Drayden would be a beautifully handsome man. He took a quick shower to clean off.

Once done, he found some papers and pen, creating a list of the needed resources to make an encampment for 20 people.

Drayden nodded at his list, he can always add more but this would be enough to get for the next 3 months. They will be travel to find a safe area and where fresh water would be at.

It'll take a while for abilities to awake and create the normad tent style shelters. Not mention, do all this under the radar of whoever owns this place.

'Maybe i should just look around the place to familiarize it, and use the layout as an idea.' Drayden thought. 'Since Alastair and his team will be going out majority of the time.'

He smirks before getting up, he hid the paper away. "Time for an outing."
