Whale Island x Information x training

A week passed since Jett had woken up from his three-day sleep coma. There were a lot of things he needed to do. The first thing would be information, and he didn't know what kind of world he was in, although he was sure it was an anime world since he did have information about the powers of this world.

He first walked around Whale Island, familiarizing himself with his surroundings, which was necessary in a new environment. The island was small compared to other much bigger islands. It was made of two conjoint mountains, a large and a smaller one. Jett could see why it was called Whale Island. The shape would be similar to a whale, especially with the small active volcano on the large island. Was it a hot spring?

'So there are whales in this world. It's not too surprising; most anime worlds are composed of things similar to Earth. Although it does seem to have strange creatures, I will have to be careful going into the forest.' Jett thought.

Jett also wondered how far civilization had evolved. Based on their materials, the houses were mostly made of wood, although there were those made of stone or cement. It was hard to guess how advanced their technology was, although he had seen electricity and light bulbs before he went out. It was a surprise that they had computers connected to a network, making his search for information much easier.

After asking his grandmother where he could use cyberspace, their term for the internet, he was told that he could go to the post office, paying a small fee would allow him to use the computer. He also discovered that few people were on the island, so few needed computers or even knew how to use cyberspace.

It was good that Jett had inherited his host memories because the language was completely different. The written language was even more confusing; it was made of strange symbols. It was a good thing that what his host had learned was enough to figure out the meaning of most of the words. The written language was completely different from the spoken language; while he knew how to read, he did not understand everything. His identity as a child helped a lot. When he didn't know one of the words, he asked someone to help read it.

Although there were some curious glances as to why he was looking at the information about the government, he passed it off as learning it for school. He also researched the education system to justify his search.

After a further search, Jett knew six continents, 250 countries, and over 200 languages. Lucky for Jett, he spoke the common language used by most countries. While interesting, information about the government wasn't what Jett was looking for; he was searching for information about the hunter exam and hunters themselves.

Hunters, in a nutshell, were people who had many different kinds of jobs, from hunting criminals to searching and protecting creatures. Jett guessed it would depend on their preference for what type of hunter they wanted to become. The Hunter Association also managed the hunters. After Jett tried to get information on them, he was stopped by a prompt on the screen asking him to insert his hunter license. Hitting a dead end on the information about the hunter association, Jett instead searches for the hunter exam; he finds out that the hunter exam happens every year. The current exam had already passed, which was the 283rd hunter exam. His other self wanted him to take the 287th exam.

If he had taken the 287th hunter exam, he would have been twelve by then. Thinking about how long he had left until the exam, a sudden thought exploded in Jett's mind. His previous self had no way of knowing that he would be twelve by the time the 287th exam came around. He wouldn't even know the year or what exam already happened. He didn't even have the time to investigate because, in the memories he retained, the covenant occurred the moment he appeared in the world. Which would mean it was a clue left to himself. Following that reasoning, Jett understood his previous self's thoughts. By leaving this information, he was also giving him, who had no memories of the world, a hint. If it wasn't a hint, why else would he want that specific information to remain?

Using this hint and the information from the Hunter exam, he could guess the start of the main story. There was also something else, and the most important clue was that if he could take the 287th Hunter Exam, it meant the main character of this world would also appear in the Hunter exam.

'So I will meet the main character in this exam. I can't wait; it is something to look forward to. I wonder who it will be; most characters in anime have colored hair so that I will look for that aspect.' Jett thought to himself, feeling clever about his reasoning.

Jett had also searched for anything related to the word Nen that he had in his memory, but no matter how he searched, he couldn't find anything. He tried wording it differently and even describing the power in case someone had posted something. Sadly, no information appeared. Having searched everything he wanted to know, Jett left the post office. Although there was other information he did not find, he didn't mind, although it was something he needed to know to understand something about his body.

Finally, with no new relevant information, if there was anything new he wanted to know, he would search for it. His next step was to focus on his Nen training. He had very little control over it and had trouble managing it as someone who had never controlled anything aside from his body. It was time to follow the training plan his other self had made.

Unlike most people or other transmigrators who abruptly started physical training, thinking it was the way to become powerful, Jett thought it wasn't the way to go—at least not for him. While having a solid body did help, it wasn't everything. Many people accumulate power and forget about fine control. Jett found a small clearing behind his new home to begin his training.

His first task was controlling the four primary principals: Ten, Zetsu, Ren, and Hatsu. Jett had subconsciously been keeping his aura under control. Jett was aware; he had kept that thought in his mind until he could begin training. Now that he was training, he needed to train his Nen consciously and systematically. It had to be as simple as a thought. He began to manipulate his aura to shroud his body according to the method he had in his mind. It was like having a second set of clothes; it was an odd and foreign feeling.

For the next six months, Jett trained the four major principles. Over those six months, he did nothing but train. He ate and slept, but from morning to midnight, all he did was train.

His grandmother had been worried that Jett would overwork himself. She had followed him one day to see what kind of training he was doing, and when she saw him sitting with his eyes closed and his hands around a cup, she did not worry anymore. Although she did think he looked lonely. There weren't other children in town, so she could do nothing about it until she conversed with an old friend. Her friend had a great-grandchild who wanted to take the hunter exam. She tries to tell Jett to become friends with the boy since they have the same goal, but Jett says that he would instead train; just like that, six months passed in the blink of an eye.

Jett was satisfied with his control over his aura. While it wasn't to the point where he could call it with a simple thought, it wouldn't be long before it was possible. He stopped training the four primary principals because He needed to train in other aspects. While he will not do strength training yet, he will practice a technique that could be useful.

This technique came from another anime; he had the information in his memory and understood why he had chosen it as something he must learn. The technique was called flash step, a martial arts technique that allows movement instantly from point A to point B. The flash step came from the world of Immortals, UQHolder. It wasn't like the flash step from Bleach or the one from One Piece. This technique didn't need physical strength or control over the energy but control over the body. In UQ Holder, they use Ki to allow this technique to work, but body control was one of its foundations. Ki, like Nen, also fell into the category of life energy; the same could be said for chakra from Naruto. While the energy was different, the applications were the same. As a force that could enhance the body, Nen worked perfectly with this flash-step technique.

Another benefit of mastering the flash step was that it allowed Jett to excel at arm wrestling. Jett wasn't sure when that could be helpful. Having reviewed the information in his head, Jett mastered the flash step. Taking off his shoes, he held a pen with his feet and started to write. He needed to learn how to use his feet as if he were using his hands.

It was hard; humans didn't naturally use their feet to hold things. Most are already accustomed to using their hands for everything in their life. Jett didn't plan on giving up; he planned to stick to it. It was also because of this that he almost got smacked in the head by his grandmother. She saw him grab his spoon with his foot and try to eat. She calls him disgusting and tries to slap him. Jett had to explain why he was doing that, as his grandmother did not believe him. So Jett had to promise to show her the result of his training after he was done if he didn't want to get hit across his butt.

He spent three months using his feet as hands, yet it was still low progress. Cooking, cleaning, and doing school work that his grandmother had forced him to do. He didn't mind he needed to learn more of the language of this world. It was hard training; it was good that his body was a child's. His muscles and body were flexible, and he had yet to adapt to a particular way of moving. Childhood was an excellent way to train in something complex, like using your feet, moving your ears, or only twitching your nose without moving the rest of your face.

He also didn't forget to keep practicing his Nen control. He consciously applies small amounts of Nen to his body when doing things. While using his hand to eat or moving his mouth to talk to others may seem useless, Jett thought that if he could get his Nen to act like the rest of his body, it would become second nature, moving his Nen around his body. Eventually, he must consider moving Nen to any place in his body.

The years went by, and the seasons came and went. Jett had turned ten years old, and it was finally time to train his body. In that year, he had mastered the use of his feet. He did not practice the flash step for a simple reason. His body was too weak; the technique would allow him to move at incredible speeds in the blink of an eye. His tiny body would be unable to handle it, especially if he failed. Could he call himself a genius? He didn't think so. He didn't awaken his Nen naturally like a true genius. So he had to take everything step by step; he knew he didn't have long until the hunter exam. Even then, he didn't intend to rush his progress; as the saying goes, ' slow and steady wins the race,' Jett believed having a solid foundation would make mastering things later much more accessible.
